I find it almost hysterical that only recently, Ricky Hatton criticizes Floyd Mayweather for putting on an unexciting fight against Baldomir, and then comes to the ring to give us that cluster f@ck he had last night
Ricky Hatton is a disgrace.

Ricky Hatton is a disgrace.
i didnt see any fans walking out of the fight last night unlike gayweather vs baldomir.![]()
I dont know about that. The first 5 rounds were fantastic. Awesome movement, in and out with ease. Nice to watch. The second half was awkward viewing. Hatton clearly slowed and was holding way too much. It was hardly crowdpleasing.
I worry that Hatton now is lacking in stamina. Instead of coming on strong in the championship rounds, he is playing safety first. He won the fight by a mile, but he clearly changed his approach after those body shots ripped him. At 28 and the workrate going down, is that ballooning catching up? I hope not. He needs to stop going up and down as he does. Its just not healthy...
haters will say anything to discredit there intended victims.
I'd hardly call pointing out the obvious hating![]()

Good description. Of the latter part of the fight at least.
If I was already a Hatton fan last night wouldn't be enough to disway me. But I'm not and his second half cop-out was enough to make me half sick.
I think Hatton should fight 8 rounders from here on out. That would be excititng.
The thing is, is this is EXACTLY what people that don't like PBF give him shit about.Originally Posted by matttttt
That he doesn't engage enough, he was getting trash talked for schooling Baldomir, yeah
people didn't walk out on Hatton, but if it was not Hatton in there, people would have walked
out based on that fight.
Hatton has some damn loyal ass fans and that's great, but looking at it from an American perspective
to the casual american boxing fan who has not seen Hatton vs. Tszyu, the only impressions they
have of him are Collazo and Urango, the don't get to see the "12 rounds of exciting action" that
has brought you all on board.
Don't take this as me attacking Ricky, because I'm not, he did exactly what he needed to do
to win this fight, but you have to understand, he has been less than spectacular on HBO.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
I am a hatton fan nd i have to agree he was starting piss me off in the second half of the fight with the amount of spoiling he was doing but wot else could he do he couldnt snap urango's head back with his best punches never mind hurt him so i understand why he done it cos he doesnt havegreat defensive skills or fast enough foot work to get in nd out with out getting hit so wot is he ment 2 do just stand there nd get knocked out. ps i was quite impressed with mathew hatton he has came a long way since the last time i saw him when he was throwing wild shots nd getting hit to easy but i was impressed with his defence nd the timing of his cross was pretty gd
It seems Rickys Movement has changed to uncertain the question should be why, and address it. Is somebody trying to mend something thats not broken. Or has the envireoment changed.

it wasn't really hattons fought that the fight was was little boring. the other guy didn't really do much. he just kept comming forward
Does that mean Witter impressed bigger then Hatton did?![]()
That's what I was getting at... he did enough to win the fight.. so why do people give him stick for it? He boxed well and very smartly against a brawler.. and won.. it wasn't the greatest fight in the world from a boxing fan's perspective.. but he did what he needed to... and did it well...Originally Posted by killersheep
hattons never in a bad fight so even if last night was a boring affair its castillo up next and when ricky stops him after 7 he will be back on top of his game.
