I cant believe all 3 judges would give the fight to Quintana. I know he won the first few rounds but he definately lost the middle rounds, and only won the 11th. This is complete bs. First the ding a ling robbery now this. This is why boxing sucks sometime
It was harder to score the rounds where Paul did better and actually landed punches because Quintana landed cleaner even if he landed fewer punches and he also didn't get caught as clean.....it seemed as though Quintana dictated the pace of the fight and not Williams.
Ring Generalship - Advantage Quintana
Clean Effective Punching - Advantage Quintana
Effective Agression - Advantage Quintana
Defense - Advantage Quintana
Paul Williams had a rough night, but he'll be back, not everyone is as slick as Quintana
I haven't seen the fight, but it is hard not to seriously question the credentials of someone who thinks that Judah is comign back to be P4P no 1. h aha
i believe that it would be better to give the judges t.v to watch the fight rather then live.
ONE-they only see one angle of the fight meaning they would miss a lot of actions that may or may not happen. having a tv in front of you would be better to see clean punches.
TWO-i hate the fact that the judges are on ringside. i've never been on ringside before i believe that they would have a better angle if they watch the fight above the ropes and not under it???.....iono just a thought

Fire his trainers...maybe...his style just isn't suited for his size and attributes. LENGTH is his strength and LENGTH would win him fights, it's the toughest thing for fighters to deal with when it's used correctly.Quote:

Quintana took the fight to Williams and clearly deserved the win. He punished the punisher with left hands. And Lederman is a fucking idiot. They need somebody else to score fights. Cuz he sucks at it

Tonight, the judges got it right.
(I think it was primarily because they didn't have a big name to push.)
Quintana gets a hat's off for his peformance tonight. He was as amazing as in his Joel Julio fight and his added aggression is what pushed him over.
Williams normally throws at least 100 punches per round. His high point tonight (89 punches) is usually his low point in any other fight. Either way you look at it, there was something that kept PW from mounting his normal offense. He even admitted it after the fight. There could have been something wrong with PW, but those clean left crosses didn't help!
Factors:
How many southpaws has PW fought?
How many times has he fought after a 7 month layoff?
How many times did Quintana watch the J.Julio fight and the Tony Margarito v. Williams fight?
Williams won 2 rounds, I think giving him 3 rounds might be a little too generous.
Even Williams corner new that he lost the fight.
Tall Paul will be back. Rematch coming soon. R.I.P Quintana.
Danny G, i normally disagree with you, but i agree with you on this one.. I thought Harold HEAVILY favored the champ, it was pretty obvious.. I don't know what fight he was watching.. Although it was nice to hear max and co. comment on how they had different cards than Harold..Quote:

Not me. The rest of the cast each has his use. Lampley the blow-by-blow commentator (and sometimes cheerleader).... Steward the expert analysis.... Merchant the poet/philsopher who adds comic relief. But what the hell does Lederman add, other than to spout the rules of the bout with that grating voice of his, and get the scoring all wrong?

Both decisions were good decision. Quintana fought near perfect fight and the Ding-a-Ling man robbed himself by not working. The judges did an excellent job of NOT caving in to the tendency to favor the bigger name. The Wilson fight wasn't even close and I had this fight 116-112 Quintana.Quote:
