I dont see the attraction either. I think shes shite but thats a matter of opinion. Even more bizarre is that some people think shes good looking, now that is shocking. Shes got a monkey face.
Amazing Talent if she could stay on the straight and narrow long enough, could be remembered as 1a Britains greatest ever female artists, saw her live last year and the year before quality, ( she did used to be quite fit when she released her first album pre crack and shit tattoos tho) prob still would lol.

I'd have to agree that I fail the see any talent regarding this artist.. She won the grammy for best song or something like that, and props to her because of the nominee's, she was the only one who wrote their own song.. Sounds great, but when you realize the hook to the song is "they tried to make me go to rehab, i said "no, no no"" I could write shit like that when i was a toddler.. Her performance was lackluster, I'm not a fan of her voice, and on top of it all she is disgustingly trashy looking/sounding..
Other than that, she's great... but to each his own, of course.
I agree with Tua and RP33. I cant understand the hype either, never could. Not my kind of music really, but I am pretty open minded and can usually see value in something even if I don't like it...but I still can't understand all the accolades she gets!
Oh well, I think the Grammy's are crap anyways. Same with the Oscar's, etc. They all reek of trendy elitism that has no more (in fact, less!) value to me than the opinion of the everyday person.

For being British that fucken girls got Soul in her.... She writes her own music AND she can sign the shit out of Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Ashanti, Keysha Cole... Her musics got sooo many influences jazz, soul, s&b, band, orchestra I mean it's fresh and it's different from anything else out there.
*The song "You know I'm No Good" proves that. 'Love is a loosing game' proves that.

The drugs have got the better part of her and shes about flushed her talent down the drain. Her performance at Grammys was fucken horrible and it reminded me of when Britney performed at the VMAs eventho she wasn't stable and ready. Amys people handled that wrong Amy had no business being on stage that day at Grammys.
cmon mick.. if you stray from the mainstream, you will find HUNDREDS of talented musicians.. The mainstream is full of fakes and sell outs, like the artists you mentioned.. To find good music nowadays you need to dig deep under the surface and find musicians who play music because that's what they want to do.. Not solely for the money and fame.. And i'm not taking anything away from musicians who "made it big" and earned their payday's, im talking about the American Idol fabricated artists.. It's like when people on the board make fun of the boxers coming from the Contender series.. They're on a reality TV show to gain exposure, and then they get their big paydays afterwards because of the show... it's a joke..Quote:

I give Amy props for writing her own songs, but does she have an influence in the music that the band plays for her? I'd be interested to know.. I could be wrong, but chances are that she didn't say "i want this music as my background".. Normally the record label gets her the band and they try to create a musical background for her vocals.. and in her case, they have captured a number of fans.. hence the grammy's
