But that was the dullest crap Ive ever seen
12 rounds of them tapping each others hands
.....oh you guys are such asses!
So no other division has had a horrible style match up....oh I am soooo sorry any fight Derrick Gainer had was shite.
Larry Holmes and Lennox Lewis and MUHAMMED ALI did the same shit vs various opponents.
Wladimir didn't go for the KO but he dominated the fight, he fought smart, and showed that if he had to fight a Corrie Sanders now he'd beat him
You won't be buying the dvd then?;)
We had the rumble in the jungle.....
what was that? The pardon in the Garden? The yawn on the lawn?
....I'm sorry 'The Rumble in The Jungle' was boooooooring
Ali on the ropes for 7 1/2 rounds
And people think Floyd is boring.......
They should have had the Duddy fight as the main event ;D
Oh screw you Lyle, there were these things called punches being thrown you screw head
This was put your hand out,and Ill hit it for 12 rounds
It might be the most boring fight Ive ever seen in my life
No wait,I take it back,it was the most boring fight Ive ever seen
Theres a reason the entire audience boo'ed throught the entire fight
Yes but see Floyd IS the problem....just as Sultan was.....Wladimir is the solution.
You know I don't get it when brawlers rule then all the "sweet science" people say "Oh this guy is a bum he can't box he only throws wild punches" blah blah blah....and when a boxer does his thing it's "oh my god this is boring they don't throw any power punches".
Yes Wlad didn't throw enough right crosses, yeah he SHOULD have KO'd Sultan but it was adifficult style, a style not like Chris Byrd or anyone else Wladimir has fought.
A)I edited it
B)You went right for an Ali fight, that was way more exciting then this thing,so it definitly came off that way
It was a snooze festival Lyle,it was booring as hell from pillar to post, you stick your hand out,and Ill slap it
If I wanted to see that,Id go back to Catholic School
A) Thank you...just for future refrence if I anger you please try to stick to calling me something other than a racist is all...call me names if you like but just not a racist.
B) Might have seemed that way but I think Ali is dreadfully boring....but this is coming from a guy who touts Joe Louis as the greatest heavyweight ever in the history of the sport. I like boxer/punchers, Wlad is a boxer/puncher HOWEVER I agree he was more boxer than puncher tonight.
Not Wlad's best performance but I told you I was nervous about the fight, that awkward style could have caused major issues for Wladimir and everyone knows this. Being that Wlad won and used a better defense and that I am a Wladimir fan, I am naturally want to look at the bright side of things....so I understand your dislike of the fight but be nice
Come on guys lets lose the race crap please... Lyle is defending his fav fighter no more no less ;)
i for one am a massive Wlad fan but that fight sucked and ts sad to see him get such a big stage/showcase and messing up :(
Vitali is my only hope :D
As has allready noted,I edited
This fight was frustraiting as hell to watch though
I kept thinking he was employing Hopkins/Tarver frustrate the range finding jab and then find his own range and come with the right
He wouldnt do it the whole damned night
I agree he won it on his jab,but he could have ended the night alot sooner if he could have shown a pair
Well it's not nice to tease the Southerner when he's good and liquored up....because he may just give you a piece of his mind.
I wanted Wladimir to throw that right cross and KO Sultan more than anyone else on this forum....it didn't happen but Wlad still won, that is all that matters to me, he lives to defend those titles another day.
"""he did SOME things well""
Yes, he beat the piss out of Ibragimov's glove... Perhaps the greatest beatdown of a glove I've ever seen..
In all honesty this hunk o crud just added to the aura of those fights
In one round they landed more and threw more then this entire fight
Regard

Good on you Nebraska
as for 'The Rumble in the Jungle'.....Foreman landed on Ali's arms, Ali laid on the ropes played to the crowd, and then countered with straight punches.
Also Foreman and Ali are both right handed fighters
Sultan Ibragimov was a cross between Chris Byrd and Corrie Sanders and so you can realize why Wlad was a little too cautious. Wladimir SHOULD have KO'd him but after a while it wasn't a risk worth taking, like LENNOX LEWIS SAID
He had it planned in advance,he knew Foreman would punch himself out.
Go back and watch the first round of it
He's trying to decide if he can end it quick, and if he can take what George is bringing
He decides he cant take the big boy out in a hurry, but he can take his punches
So he goes with plan B
His corner was spazzing, but he kept telling them,"I know what Im doing"
No George until his comeback allways on tape looked beatable that way
Its just could you take the punishment
The old George was actually alot smarter,"Here's the center of the ring,Ill be waiting for you"
If you could put the two versions together
Oh sweet Jesus
Thats murder in trunks
The match was like watching my kids play patty cakes .. Only the kiddos play with more intensity and determination factor. Stale performances by both men IMO.
Klitchko is more annoying then quality. Maybe 4 rights hands the whole night? And that club str8 arm jab type thing ?? Funny the Ref kept letting him throw that, surprised me to be honest.
I‘d have serious issue with that B.S . .
And what a horrible strategy by Ibrogimov. He Stay in Klitchko’s range by choice. ??, Sultan should have been pressing from the gate. never being more then an inch off the chest of Wladimir.
I believe that the fans will be glad to see David Tua back in action , a busy year 2008 . A fight in April in Michigan. Then Showtime matches in July and Sept , a title fight in the fall . get ready for some exhilarating performances !
""""""""""I believe that the fans will be glad to see David Tua back in action """"""""""""
Now THAT is what's REALLY wrong with the heaveyweight division.. When people are waiting to see TUA back in action, all hope is lost.
Oh yes we cannot wait til Tua is back :gnight23:
Tua is a guy who will get punched in the face for 12 rounds and land 1 punch and you wait ALL FIGHT for 1 punch and sometimes it never comes.
David Tua wasn't all that when he was in his prime!
Wladimir had a bad night....he won....get over it
Oh he won the fight, almost everyone including me,thought he would.
Its just the manner he won it in
Not very convincing
Most fight fans will tell you they BEG for a heavyweight to convince them that they are it
I actually lost a bunch of faith in him tonight,I thought he'd be that real deal
He was bigger,he was in better shape,he had better legs, and all he did was try to survive
hey, if this was 2001, I would be saying hell yeah... But at 36-37 (whatever he is now) I ain't sitting around dreaming of the day old TUA comes back and saves the division..
He is - was a fun fighter to watch, I'll give you that.. But not a serious contender at this point..
