Enzo Maccerinelli blamed For UK Earthquake...seriously
Experts from the British Geological Survey now believe that WBO World Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Maccarinelli was the reason behind this mornings terror earthquakes that rocked Britain!
The dynamite-fisted Welshman recently shifted his training sessions to the early hours of the morning to prepare for his mega-showdown with David Haye a week on Saturday at The O2 in London, and last night Big Mac put in an awesome power-packed session on a 400lb heavybag that experts believe triggered the earthquake which hit a staggering 5.1 on the Richter scale.
Professor T. Remor said: "The epicentre was originally believed to be 30 miles south of Hull but on further analysis of the data it appears that it was actually in the South Wales region in the early hours of the morning.
"This was the second biggest earthquake ever recorded in the UK. Strangely, the biggest hit Lleyn in North Wales back in 1984 (When Maccarinelli first put on a pair of boxing gloves!).
"An earthquake has a magnitude of four which is the equivalent of 1,000 tonnes of TNT or a small nuclear weapon. Last nights was of a magnitude four - which is pretty scary.
"As a boxing fan, I have read that Enzo Maccarinelli is working out at this time time for his fight with David Haye and we are now examining if he is the cause of these tremors."
Bewildered people lined up the streets as householders were shaken out of their beds and buildings shook, luckily WBC/WBA World Champion Haye is still training in Miami and missed the tremors - otherwise he would have pulled out of the fight!
Maccarinelli v Haye is the biggest all British showdown since the Nigel Benn-Chris Eubank epics in the 1990s.
With 50 fights between them, 40 by way of knock-out and 30 coming inside three rounds it is expected to be the most explosive showdown in recent years and is televised live on Setanta in the UK and on Showtime in the US.
Maccarinelli said: "Wow! that was some training session Enzo Calzaghe put me through last night.
"Enzo had me working on power punches on the heavybag for over two hours and I can honestly say I have never punched a bag as hard as that in my life.
"We have had a specially made heavybag imported from America, the kind that Mike Tyson used to use, to focus on power punching and when I was unloading the bag just went flying everywhere.
"I apologise if people around Britain were disturbed during the night by this but I am giving them an advanced warning now that they had better be prepared on March 8 because when Haye lands on that canvas it will trigger off an even bigger earthquake!"
It's from Frank Warren's site which shows he can talk more shit than Bob Arum, although if Arum had said it he would actually mean it!
Anyway I have my own theory on the cause of the earthquake.
Rhun was out jogging!

Re: Enzo Maccerinelli blamed For UK Earthquake...seriously
Isn't getting hit by one of his right hands equivalent to being hit by a bus or a train or a plane or something? If so I guess this is credible.

Re: Enzo Maccerinelli blamed For UK Earthquake...seriously
I heard it was Mayweather dropping his wallet.

Re: Enzo Maccerinelli blamed For UK Earthquake...seriously
Im not with your theory Bilbo , i had been told by a reliable Yorkshire source that it was in fact caused by former WBO feather weight champion
Prince Naseem Hamed , he had taken to early hours of the morning skipping in order to fight the flab and get back in shape.
This was oviously to much for the Earths Crust , hence causing 5.5 earthquake.

Nope imo the most stupid person is the person who doesn't realise that the article is meant to be taken as a joke and actually thinks that some people might take it seriously ;)

111! Nah that was decades ago I'm 133 now. I left Middle Earth in 2004 after Peter Jackson finished Return Of The King.
I may return if Jackson can sort out the legal wranglings and make my own biographical film which lets face it, is what all the fans wanted in the first place.
I'm getting old now though so they may need to use a bit of CGI to cover up my wrinkles if I'm to actually star in my own film. My hobbit antics were over 80 years ago after all

Re: Enzo Maccerinelli blamed For UK Earthquake...seriously
;)Some good crack about the theory of this mornings earthquake...most of it will be true.Mind you i hope it was really Enzo sharpening up his punches rather than Prince Naz warming up.Please dont make a come back!HONEST!!Yer Enzo Maccerinelli does have alot of punching power,so much that Cardiff University of Science actually registered a reading of 500lbs from his punches. The equivalent of a small car hitting you at 30mph.WOW.It's going to be Awsome this fight.Just what the british fans have been waiting for.I cant wait!

Re: Enzo Maccerinelli blamed For UK Earthquake...seriously
Aright they!To be frank it's a really difficult decision to think about because theres not much in between both fighters record wise!....i'll stretch my neck out and say Enzo Maccernelli due to the fact that he has really improved as a boxer and the other fact that Haye keeps dropping his BLOODY left hand and inviting big 500lbs over-right hands to his cranium.I think it'll last longer than most people expect though!

Re: Enzo Maccerinelli blamed For UK Earthquake...seriously
I think Macca will take him. Ive always sayed that he would do it, the simple fact that he punches more often the Haye and has proven his chin. Haye has a chin but his defence is lacking, did anybody see Macca knock out Dominguez? If ANYBODY took a punch like that they would go down, his defence was quite good as well and the fact that Macca has improved since then and Hayes defence is poor really does show that Enzo has potential to knock him out early.
Buy saying that I believe Haye also has outstanding power and he isnt slow either. Stamina surely goes to Macca, Haye has been the distance once and if it manages to drag to the later rounds i do favour Macca to win on points. But if Macca gets silly I believe he can be taken out early. Its a really open fight but I just believe that Macca will take it by brutal knockout.
can anybody post the video of Enzo against Dominguez, this will show his power to the maximum.

I felt a bit of a rattle about 1 am for about ten or fifteen seconds. Later the BBC informed me that it had been an earthquake. That makes me an earthquake survivor. :)

Who was responsible for the earthquake last night?
Mr. Kipling. He makes exceedingly good quakes.

Re: Enzo Maccerinelli blamed For UK Earthquake...seriously
A major earthquake measuring 7.8 in the Richter scale hit Lancashire and surrounding areas in the morning of 27 February 2008. The epicentre was Scunthorpe. Shock waves were felt as far afield as Bolton, Manchester and Essex. Casualties were seen wandering aimlessly saying "bang out of order", "mental" and "that did my head in". The earthquake decimated the area causing in excess of £17.55 worth of damage.
Several priceless collections of mementos from Ibiza and Corfu were damaged beyond repair. Three preserved areas of historic burned out cars were disturbed. Many locals were woken before their giros arrived. The local paper reported that hundreds of residents were confused and bewildered. They are still trying to come to terms with the fact that the damage was caused by something else instead of them. One resident Tracey Sharon Smith, a 15 year old mother of four said "It was such a shock, little Chardonnay-Leigh came running through the cardboard door into my bedroom crying. My hands were shaking so much that I could hardly shoot-up when I was watching Trisha the next morning". Another local resident known as Macca said the earthquake would not stop him going to work, after all, the T.W.O.C'ing, Burglaries and Graffiti would not do themselves. The British Red Cross has so far managed to ship 4,000 crates of Sunny Delight to the area to help with the crisis. Rescue workers were still searching through rubble and have found large quantities of personal belongings which include benefit books, jewellery from Elizabeth Dukes, bone china from Poundstretcher and a number of Argos catalogues. However, they were unable to save any furniture from Crazy George's.
How can you help? This appeal hopes to raise money for food and clothing parcels for those unfortunate enough to be caught up in the disaster. Clothing is most sought after. Most needed are Kappa or other tracksuits (his and hers), white socks to tuck the tracksuit bottoms into, Burberry caps, woolly Benny hats and Reebok trainers. Primark clothing is most welcome. Food parcels are also needed. They include Mcains Micro-Chips, Aldi Beans, Monster Munch, Nutella chocolate spread and Iceland pizzas. Alcohol is also in short supply, mainly Lambrini, White Lightening cider and Carlsberg Special Brew. Cash donations are also needed, 22p buys a Bic Biro for signing on purposes, £1.50 buys cheese & chips and £26 buys 200 Regal from Tommo who has just got back from Kavos.

Re: Enzo Maccerinelli blamed For UK Earthquake...seriously
I wonder if there will be another earthquake when Enzo hits the canvas on the 8th. Hope not as I will be in the 02 Arena to watch the fireworks from 'The Hayemakers' fists as they explode on Enzo's chin.
Enzo's a nice guy and decent fighter but David Haye will be far too good for him.

I have to admit that when I started reading that sentence, having already noticed the poster, I was 100% certain it would end with the words "hitting the corner post".
But I guess Hatton isnt training for a Mayweather rematch just yet. When he does - seismologic people of Britain beware!
