Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
I will not say much with detail (I'm a bit lazy today) of each opponents but I will say this.
While I do hate B-Hop and yes he has lost some fights do to age and maybe weigh issues. B-Hop is the better of the two because his opposition has been more dangerous than Mayweather.
Don't get me wrong both are great talents and while I do criticize Floyd for making Hatton come to 147 B-Hop did the same to Winky to come up at 170.
They only way that Floyd could be there equally to B-Hop is if he beats Cotto at 147 but he's not even metion to fight the bggest thread at 147 and But B-Hop is already fighting JC.
Hey don't burn me that's my Honest opinion.
Any Comments?

Hi Puya , dont worry i dont think that nobody going to burn you its your opinion and you are sharing it , so everybody has to respect that and i suggest to all ours friends , to put thier point of view to develope these topic ......after all i agree with you Puya if Mayweather want to proclaim himself as the most p4p , he will have to confront Cotto.......

Re: Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
Neither of the 2. Hopkins got a gift against Winky and his best work has been against guys moving way up while mayweather just fights the most vulnerable money making fighters.

I don't think anyone would knock you for your opinion, there a valid reasons why people choose any number of guys these days. manny pac, floyd, b hop, calzaghe whatever....i happen to disagree since i think floyd is the clear cut best. No one has beat him now, probably won't in the near future, and really no one has any real good idea on how to. Floyd is floyds only real threat right now. There are a ton of fighter that can be built up and put into a 24/7 series and made to seem like they can beat him, but other than that only floyd beats floyd and that's why i easily have him at no 1

I totally Agree with the Bold statement.
Like Floyd vs Castillo 1 but Floyd did gave him the rematch. I do admire that as a boxing fan

Ok Genius. So if all the boxing experts are wrong and PBF isnt the P4P champ, and its not BHOP then who is it?

Re: Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
Hop has beaten more top p4p fighters in the last few years. As for now Id say Hopkins is p4p #1. Winky was also higher on the p4p list than Hatton prior to Hop beating him. Its close and Mayweather may be #1 p4p he has a good case, but if the old man beats Calzaghe, hes #1 for sure and it could even be argued he is as top 10 fighter of all time imo.

No, i think Calzaghe is p4p higher than Cotto as of now, but who knows if Floyd ever fights Cotto while hes still undefeated. I think he will wait for him to lose. If Floyd fights Cotto while hes undefeated I think Cotto beats him. And I also think Joe outworks Hopkins.

How about Pac who has done nothing but ko and retire legend after legend and will continue the trend in 2 weeks.

Re: Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
I go with PBF. He's putting together a Pernell Whitaker like career now, an elusive defensive artiste who's proven to be an unsolvable enigmatic puzzle. No one really beat Pernell in his prime, and floyd is in a similar situation.
B-hops had a great career, but floyd's had one of genius.

Re: Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
Mayweahter is by far the best fighter in the world, he counter punches better than Hopkins, he has better defense than Hopkins, he's faster than Hopkins, he's won all of his fights. Hopkins is a great fighter, but he barely beat Winky, he's slowed down, and he isn't the same guy he used to be, but he's never been as good as Mayweather. There is no aspect of the fight game he does better than Mayweather anymore like I said... he used to be a better inside fighter than Mayweather, but now he isn't, he used to be a better fighter coming forward, but not anymore. I don't see how you can even compare these two... many of the boxing "pros" already place Mayweather's career higher than B-Hop's p4p and he is only 30.

Re: Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
Barnard Hopkins?? Are people forgetting that he was twice beaten by Jermain Taylor?

For that reason, Kelly Pavlik deserves to be as one of the top 5 p4p then.

Re: Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
Mayweather but Hopkins has beaten better fighters and Hopkins was robbed against JT and Castillo was robbed against Counterfit.
-
Re: Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
Why are people bringing up Mayweather fighting Hatton who isn't a legit ww? Is Mayweather a legit ww when he comes into the ring at 147 pounds? Was he a legit SWW at 150 pounds?

So u believe that 130 Pac would beat PBF when he was 130? Keep dreaming he wouldnt have had a chance.
Pac has fought lots of old fighters for money, similiar to what u accuse PBF of doing.
You say PBF should fight Cotto MArgo Williams Quintana to prove he is best?
Well Pac should fight Guzman, Valero, Diaz, Katsidis instead of fighters 5 years past their prime.
-
Re: Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
People will never be happy with what these guys are doing. People wanted pacquaio to fight Barrera again, but when the chance came and he took it people were mad he didn't fight Marquez, now he is fighitng Marquez and people don't even appreciate that and are now complaining that he wants to face Hatton without cleaning out the 135 wieght division, but my question is why after a fighter clears out one or two weight divisions do they need to clear out every single wieght division along the way? He's done everything everybody has wanted so now let him do his own thing
As for Hopkins he's #4 on everybody's list at the moment so I don't know why people think him above Calzaghe or Pacquaio deserve any type of challenge to PBF's crown.

Pac beat up Barrera 5 years ago. What are you talking about?
Plus, saying a prime Pac wouldn't have had a chance against a raw 130 PBF is an unsourced statement.

If PBF mixed the craftiness he has now with the lightning speed he had at 130 he'd beat PAC everyday of the week. I'd say raw 130 PBF would beat PAC.
Everyone analyses PBF's record so lets look at PACs.
Last 8 fights
3k Battery, not a great fighter.
Erik Morales, PAC lost
Hector Velasquez, not a great fighter
Erik Morales, good win for PAC.
Oscar Larios, moved up 2 divisions to fight PAC, had just been Ko'd in 3 by 122 Vasquez
ERik Morales Morales more than SHOT
Jorge Solis not a great fighter
MAB was old and SHOT.
PAC is a great fighter, but u cannot accuse PBF of ducking guys and only fighting easy money fights when PAC does exactly the same thing.

Now tell me eagle, can you name me someone whom PAcquaio had ducked before?:-\
-
Re: Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
The more I think about it, the closer I Think Pacman vs Mayweather would have been at 130... mayweather has a lot of trouble against that straight left hand, and PAcquaio throws that cross as good as anyone throws a cross. I think Mayweather for sure wins because Pacquaio would either get KO'ed or he would get hurt and stop throwing like against MArquez during the middle of the fihgt, but it would be a close fight, until like I said Pacquaio gets countered because Mayweather was stronger, bigger, faster, and better than the Marquez that fought Pacquaio.

Re: Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
I sincerely believe that if Hopkins defeats Calzaghe, which I think he is quite capable of doing. Then he deserves to be ranked as THE #1 P4P Fighter in the world.
-
Re: Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
if hopkins beats calzaghe he should be number 1

Re: Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
Mayweather by a country mile.
Wasn't long ago that Hopkins lost twice in a row to Taylor.
Regardless of wether or not you think he was robbed, he still lost.
So i vote Mayweather.....by far.

Re: Best P4P Mayweather or Hopkins?
If he look at accomplishments, Hopkins is best hands down!

First of all, I'm not accusing PBF of ducking anybody. I don't know where'd ya that from, you prolly mistaken me from someone else. And second, I disagree with your excuses and whacked up theory.
What makes you say Pac is avoiding Guzman and Valero? Pac had to take care of the top dogs first. Don't worry, they'll get their chance to smooch the canvas too. They're gonna have to wait in line. Tsk! tsk! What can I say?.. So many fighters, so lil' time for Pac.
Saying Pac is avoiding Guzman and Valero is 100% bullcrap.

The point is PBF deserves to be P4P #1 end of story.

Really? Has everyone who thinks Hopkins ranks higher forgotten about Floyd's career at 130 and 135 where he beat everybody. Everybody. Even if you feel that Floyd should have 1 loss on his record (which I do), he avenged that loss. Bernard couldn't avenge his loss to Taylor.
Hopkins biggest wins:
Tarver - one his most impressive performances
Wright (Questionable win)
Tito (naturally smaller)
Oscar (younger, but a smaller man)
Joppy
Floyd:
Chico
Castillo
G. Hernandez
C. Hernandez
Oscar (older, but the bigger man)
Hatton
Jesus Chavez
Floyd's stretch of fights from 2001-2003 is about as impressive as it gets - Corrales, Hernadez, Chavez, Castillo 1, Castillo 2, and just for good measure Sosa and N'Dou.
Now, he has beaten Ricky and Oscar is successive fights. Won the lineal championship in 4 weight divisions and beaten the recognized #1 LWW, albeit at WW.
Sorry, man, I hate him, but you can't deny he's earned his #1 p4p status.
