Mayweather on FNF says Cotto basiclly isnt worthy. Sounds like a duck to me.
Any one else hear him on Colin Cowherd. I heard him on Friday night fights and he said "Cotto needs to put up more pay per view fights before he can even get to fight money Mayweather." Mayweather is exactly how not to act if you want to get into heaven.
Clearly a duck.

Check this out too...
MAYWEATHER: "OSCAR DE LA HOYA DON'T LIKE ME AT ALL...IT'S A REAL BEEF!"
"Oscar De La Hoya don't like me at all. He truly dislikes me and I don't care too much for him. I don't like him at all either. It's a real beef," stated boxing's pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr., who was on hand at the ESPN studios to discuss his anticipated rematch with Oscar De La Hoya as well as his upcoming clash this Sunday with Big Show at Wrestlemania XXVI. Check out what else he had to say.

Clearly a duck.
This proves to the world how full of shit Mayweather is.
He says he is bigger than De La Hoya and he also says he is bigger than Hatton. If this is true, then why does Cotto have to anything other than what he is doing now and that is win.
This proves that Floyd is not a big attraction.
De La Hoya could fight anyone on this forum and generate more PPV buys than PBF could fighting anyone else.
Floyd needs to admit that he will never be as great as ODLH in PPV sales.
The only reason people tune in to watch Floyd is because people can't wait to see him lose. The haters bring more to the table than Floyd's fans do.
Right now, even Floyd's die hard fans are being critical of him which shocked me :o The hardcore Floyd fans at boxingscene for example are asking Floyd to stop bullshiting and get back in the ring with people other than Ricky and ODLH.
I have a feeling all this talk about Cotto and the hard criticism he is getting will make Floyd cry again. Who will he snap on? Where will he be when he breaks down in tears again? I don't know but I sure don't want to miss that one. ;D

Re: Mayweather on FNF says Cotto basiclly isnt worthy. Sounds like a duck to me.
Fraud did a chat on ESPN yesterday, and here are the Q & A's from it regarding Cotto.
Jon, Los Angeles, CA: Any chance you'll fight Cotto in 2009 before retiring?
Floyd Mayweather: At first he has to get his PPV numbers up and get a fan base.
David(TX): Do you see yourself ever fighting in mecca of boxing, Madison Square Garden vs a fighter like Miguel Cotto?
Floyd Mayweather: Who knows what the future might hold, but everyone knows that Las Vegas is the mecca of boxing.
Brandon (Arlington, VA): I will personally buy enough PPVs to make a match with Cotto equal what you sell against De La Hoya
Floyd Mayweather: I just found out who Cotto was today, because he never has called me.
Again, to prove my point, he is only going to fight ODLH & Hatton, and then retire. He will not fight Cotto!
Alex (Grand Forks,ND): What other boxer would you love to pummel into retirement?
Floyd Mayweather: De La Hoya and Hatton. They've basically both retired. What I'm going to do to De La Hoya is what Richard Prior talked about in standup comedy. I already broke De La Hoya once. Now I'll bring him back to life and break him again.
Okay, this doesn't have to with Cotto, but just proves what I have been saying about Fraud not caring about the fans, all he cares about is money. What a greedy bastard. It's nice to know that he even puts money before his own kids, or family.
Dave, Tampa, Fl: is there more to life than money?
Floyd Mayweather: Yeah, more money.

Re: Mayweather on FNF says Cotto basiclly isnt worthy. Sounds like a duck to me.
Oops, I forgot to add this little dig by Dan Rafael in his chat yesterday.
Dan (Nutley, NJ): What if The Big Show beats Floyd? Will we see The Show vs. Cotto by the end of the year?
Dan Rafael: Probably because Big Show won't duck Cotto like Mayweather.
:lolhaha::lolhaha::lolhaha:

I don't have a problem with what Floyd's doing. The guy has been P4P for a decade. It doesn't matter who he beats, in his mind, there will always be people that don't like him. So he's gonna do what's best for him and his family and that's make the most money while he can. It won't matter if he beats Cotto because if he does people will find ways to discredit him. Every fight he's had, he's been discredited. Even when he murdered Corrales (in a fight most experts thought was a true pick em' fight), what did the fans say? Oh, Diego was going to jail, that wasn't the real Corrales, blah blah blah. When he beat ODLH, an Olympic gold medalist, elite fighter, who is a MUCH bigger than him and probably had a 12 pound advantage on Floyd on fight night, people said that ODLH was past it. Fine, whatever, but the same people don't discredit Cotto's win over Mosley, even though Mosley is clearly past his prime. People have been discrediting his wins his whole career so in his mind he thinks that a win against anybody isn't gonna count for shit anyway. So he's basically decided that if he's not gonna get any credit for any win, then he's at least gonna get a big paycheck. Cotto right now is a decent attraction but not one where Floyd could get 15 Mil + to fight so Floyd wants Cotto to become big enough to where the fight could make him some big money because beating Cotto ain't gonna win him any fans anyway.
-
Re: Mayweather on FNF says Cotto basiclly isnt worthy. Sounds like a duck to me.
Yeah, Floyd claimed since he beat Oscar, he gets credit for the PPV record #'s in their fight.
-
Re: Mayweather on FNF says Cotto basiclly isnt worthy. Sounds like a duck to me.
I just wish Mayweather would fight Witter, then his PPV ratings would plummet.
-
Re: Mayweather on FNF says Cotto basiclly isnt worthy. Sounds like a duck to me.
Its old already. If he's that fascinated with numbers he should have been a Certified Accountant and quit Impersonating a Willing Champion already.

Re: Mayweather on FNF says Cotto basiclly isnt worthy. Sounds like a duck to me.
The funny thing is Floyd wasn't even a PPV attraction until he fought Gatti. Gatti was obviously the attraction. For the people that don't have a problem with what Floyd is doing, are you guys even boxing fans? You should feel cheated that Floyd isn't making the fights that true fight fans want to see.
-
Re: Mayweather on FNF says Cotto basiclly isnt worthy. Sounds like a duck to me.
Floyd is fighting Oscar Delahoya in his next fight (a rematch of the fight that made the most money in the history of boxing, for those who don't know)
Miguel Cotto is fighting Alfonso "Who?" Gomez in his next fight.
If/when Cotto beats Gomez then Margarito/Cintron he will be the big attraction that Mayweather seeks. Until then, he's not much more of a threat that Paul Williams was a short while back............... or even Margarito was a long while back, and he would bring about the same amount of money that Margarito/Williams would have brought before they got beat. Look at the big picture.
Some people are hella ignorant when it comes to realizing this. Get over it. Bob Arum said that Cotto is tied up for the rest of the year in an interview on boxingtalk.com a short while back while Mayweather is fighting a fight as big as Cotto could ever dream of.
Mayweather is not fighting the fights that the hardcore boxing fans want, he is fighting the fights that ALMOST EVERYBODY ELSE IN THE WORLD wants.
As for Cotto?.................... What hardcore boxing fan wants to see Miguel Cotto vs. Alfonso Gomez?? Let alone the non-hard core boxing fans.
Mayweather WILL fight Cotto assuming that Cotto beats Alfonso Gomez:rolleyes: and the winner of Margarito vs. Cintron. If he doesn't, only then could people have a somewhat intelligent argument by saying that "Mayweather is ducking Cotto." In the meantime...... just watch your boy Cotto fight the other top welterweights like Alfonso Gomez and Margarito and Kermit Cintron

I don't see how anyone could feel cheated by the fights Floyd has made thus far. He has the best resume in the entire sport of boxing right now.
Last year he was the Ring's boxer of the year for his wins over De La Hoya and Hatton, which also happened to be two of the biggest boxing events in world history.
His next fight is against Oscar again, people moan but moving back up to 154 to fight Oscar IS a tough fight, harder than any fight Cotto has ever had.
NOBODY would complain if Cotto announced he was going to fight Oscar at 154, but instead he's fighting Alfonso Gomez.
Now don't get me wrong I'm not knocking Cotto but people need to put things in perspective regarding Floyd.
He WILL fight Cotto at some time, right now he wants to make his fortune off of De La Hoya. When Oscar has gone though Floyd will have no choice but to fight Cotto if Cotto keeps winning.
Floyd has always fought the best in each division. At superfeather he fought the unbeaten Diego Corrales, at lightweight Jose Luis Castillo, he fought Ricky Hatton basically at light welter. He weighed in on fight night at 145 lbs the same as Manny Pacquiao did for JM Marquez so let's not kid ourselves and say the extra weight contributed to Hattons loss.
Now at welter he's beaten the undisputed champion in Baldimor and the previous undisputed champ in Zab Judah and for good measure went up to fight Oscar at 154.
Just give him time. If Cotto is allowed a gimme fight against Alfonso Gomez then Floyd can have a 'gimme' rematch fight against Oscar.
Why do people act so final when a fight is announced as if that's going to be their last fight ever?

Here is some shocking truth for you.
I think BoxingScene.com has some of the most biggest Floyd Fans and nuthuggers I have ever seen and yet they are coming to the same realization that Floyd is making a mistake people and fan wise by fighting ODLH and Ricky Hatton.
The only reason Cotto is booking up his schedule is because he knows that if he waits around like Tony did then he will hurt himself by being inactive. Cotto already said he will stay busy until Floyd grows some nuts and decides to fight him. Cotto is fighting Gomez but who the fuck is Floyd fighting? The Big Show! I bet you too believe this is real and that Floyd actually broke the big shows nose, right?
Why are you always afraid to see Floyd take the fights most of the fans want to see?
What did Merchant ask Floyd after his Ricky fight?
Will you fight Cotto?
There was no mentions of a rematch with either ODLH or Ricky Hatton.
The fans want to see Cotto/Mayweather.
Floyd's nuthuggers want to see Floyd play make believe with the big show and not fight any REAL Welter Weights. They are happy with Floyd fighting ODLH and Little Ricky Hatton.
You are one of thee biggest nuthuggers I have seen in a very long time. Thank god there are not many like you. I will try to get a hold of Money Mayweather and see if he can send you his jock-strap so you can lick and sniff. I am sure he will be happy to know that he has at least one die hard nuthugger other Leonard Ellerbe that supports him.
;D

You know I will agree with you that if he chooses to fight Hatton again the WBC should strip him of his title.
That is a shameful fight to make, rematching a beatdown and both Floyd and Fatton deserve a chorus of boo's if that one comes off.
For what's it worth I'll be cheering on Lazcano and Steve Forbes next month to hopefully throw a spanner or two in the works.

Just one question, why does Cotto have to fight the winner of Margarito - Cintron? Certainly he's done enough to not have to beat them. If he were to beat Margarito or Cintron, that would probably be his 4th best win as a professional, no real need for that.
I truly believe that Mayweather will end up fighting Cotto but last night on FNF was the first time I've heard Mayweather sound like a Mayweather. Like Uncle Rog or his dad. Most of the stuff he said didn't make sense, he kept throwing these ridiculous claims out ($170 million this year :lolhaha: ) and was pretty much shameless.
Still, I think he'll end up fighting Cotto.

Re: Mayweather on FNF says Cotto basiclly isnt worthy. Sounds like a duck to me.
These “Floyd is ducking Cotto” threads are starting to get old. Fact of the matter is, we’re all trying to predict the future, without letting things pan out by themselves. But let me be as objective as possible while discussing some of the things being thrown around the forum:
1. Cotto fighting Gomez
Why are people getting on Cotto’s case about this? The guy is hardly a slacker. He keeps busy, and has always taken on tough opponents, rarely taking a breather. After back-to-back stirring wins over the likes of Judah and Mosley, I think he deserves to scale back a bit before his next mega-fight. He is hardly the only fighter to do this. And Gomez may be no “Mosley”, but don’t dis the guy so much. He’s not totally without skills.
2. Floyd fighting De La Hoya again
Only the hardcore Floyd and Oscar fans will claim that the first fight lived up to its hype. And only the most optimistic of those fans will predict that the second fight will be any better. Personally, I was bored to tears by the first fight. Yes, I like boxing, but I prefer a little actual combat thrown in from time to time. Cotto-Mosley had all kinds of boxing, and still turned out to be a classic, fan-pleasing fight. Can’t blame Floyd for going for the $$$, but frankly… I’m not looking forward to it.
3. Floyd saying Cotto’s not worthy
Hey, I’ll reiterate my previous point. Whether he’s ducking or not ducking, the fight can’t happen yet. There are previous engagements. But calling Cotto “not worthy” doesn’t quite cut the mustard. Like it or not, Cotto is a major force (and champion) in the welterweight division. You may or may not be a Cotto fan… but you gotta admit, he’s pretty much reached the “worthy” point by now, don’t you think?
CONCLUSION:
Only one person on the planet knows whether Floyd has plans to duck Cotto or not……. Floyd. Right now, everyone can talk all they want. But we won’t know whether Floyd really has any intentions of facing Cotto until they’re both done with their previous engagements. It’s at THAT point when we’ll finally know the truth. Personally, I hope it happens. It should be a hell of a fight.

Hey southhakron , i think this don't have sense , I'm sure that Cotto will cover and put up PPV at this time , you know why?....because right now is the most fight where the whole world want see my friend , but now if Mayweather expect an a Big Purse that he want and he doesn't get it , that is another thing my friend , so i think that we cant mix the gimnasia with the magnesia..........;D

So while Cotto's schedule is booked for the rest of the year, why shouldn't Mayweather fight Delahoya again? Obviously it made tons of money and a lot of the general population (not boxing fans like us) thought that Delahoya won the fight. Delahoya vs. Mayweather 2 makes sense while Cotto builds up his popularity in his next two fights.

Correction Cotto was trying to land a fight with PBF or Oscar$$$ but Floy decided call it quits (take a break) and then schedule a fight with OScar.
But Cotto booked his schedule to stay busy. and make a plan to fight th rest of the WW, and if by 2009 FLoyd still doesn't fight Cotto hi will be no longer recognaize by the non boxing fans as the best WW because us Boxing fans know Cotto is the Best WW out there right now

Clearly a duck.
How was that a duck? Nobody with half a brain should see that as a duck. He is saying that Cotto needs to become more mainstream for the fight to happen. Mayweather was wrong to say Cotto hasn't proven himself, but he was right that Cotto isn't super huge outside of NY, boxing fans, and PR. IMO he, Cotto, should fight Oscar early 2009 and then that will open up Cotto-mayweather. OR hopefully if Cotto faces Mosley in a rematch, which Shane deserves, or the winner of margarito-Cintron... I think that winner deserves Mayweather. But Cotto just barely beat Mosley, and definitely didn't look very good those last few rounds, Mosley deserves a rematch, and the Cintron-Margarito winner deserves a crack at Cotto before that winner faces Mayweather.

That's kinda how it works.

He knows how physical Cotto is and how much bodily damage he can do to his opponent. How can Mayweather say that about the clearly number one guy in his weight class. He is feared. Like Edison Miranda and Kelly Pavlik and Manny is to those guys in that weight class. He is clearly ducking. Im so glad I started this thread. +1 for you and everyone that posted on it. Thanks.

See what you said is exactly what is wrong with the sport. He beat Mosley and everyone else he faced. Mayweather needs to take this fight. Quit giving these boxers like Mayweather these holier than thou personalitys and all that shit and bang it out with the tops in the weight. Hows come Hatton got the shot. Because Hatton is smaller in size and he made fun of Mayweather. Cotto should call Mayweather the coward that he is. Just like Mayweather didn't say shit back when Chuck Liddell said he had a 135 pounder that could wax him in a fight. To me if Mayweather got Duk Kim'ed in the ring I would care less. He is a piece of shit human being and a piece of shit for the sport.

I'm sorry and I don't mean to cause trouble, but what a fucking stupid thing to say. I don't like Mayweather one bit, thought I don't think he's ducking Cotto just yet, but wishing death on someone, anyone, who risks their lives to provide ungreatful fuckwits like yourself with entertainment is a ridiculous thing to do. How do you know Mayweather is a piece of shit human being? Do you know him and interact with him personally? I would guess not. You're clearly stupid enough to buy into the image he is selling and to assume that it is a reflection of his personality and not just an projection of a villian character. Good work and keep up the quality posting.

What an ass you are. Wow. And to think you are a Mancini fan, we see who the shit is. Gave bad rep but come on, that's uncalled for.

Re: Mayweather on FNF says Cotto basiclly isnt worthy. Sounds like a duck to me.
C'mon now people don't buy into this crap...we all know cotto/floyd is the fight we all want, the fans all want but there are still 3 or 4 pepople on this planet somewhere who still could care less and those are the people floyd is holding out for. Floyd fights for money and that's really about it so he is going to try and suck every last penny out of this matchup which everyone knows is eventually going to happen. Floyd isn't ducking anyone, but simply building up this fight till it can't be built up anymore at which time they'll fight he'll beat cotto like everyone else and start all this crap over again with someone new. I almost dread the big circus and false drama that we will be forced to go through till then, cotto is no more a threat to beat floyd than any other of the thirty something guys we've been made to belive can beat floyd. Even by floyd himself at times with all the 24/7 garbage he puts on lately before every fight. Can cotto beat floyd ?? Sure it's possible it's possible for anyone will it happen, i doubt it.

Agreed but eveyone is entitled to thier opinion, i just don't see how such a statement can be made about someone you don't know. You only see what's on t.v. he could be the nicest person in the world off camera the guy isn't beating wives, getting dui's, killing animals, ducking child support, carrying pistols, or any number of things common to see of celebs these days. Can't belive everything you see on camera, i used to think whitney houston was a wholesome person back in the day.

Excellent post.
How can anyone be mad at what Floyd is doing when Cotto is doing the very same thing.....albeit against a much shitter opponent. At least Mayweather is fighting someone who took him to a SD.

De La Hoya could fight anyone on this forum and generate more PPV buys than PBF could fighting anyone else. Floyd needs to admit that he will never be as great as ODLH in PPV sales.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! True!
Exactly! ODLH vs Mayweather did great on sales because both are boxing greats but I can assure it was more because ODLH was in there and not just Mayweather.

The only reason people tune in to watch Floyd is because people can't wait to see him lose. The haters bring more to the table than Floyd's fans do.
Yep! That's the reason why I watch his fights. I wonder "Darn it! Will he loose this time?". That's how I used to follow Naz and when he lost CONVINCINGLY ooooh man, I remember savoring that moment.
Quote:
have a feeling all this talk about Cotto and the hard criticism he is getting will make Floyd cry again
Or maybe just starting some drama like when the talk about facing ODLH barely started. Maybe trying to build up some excitement?. *sigh* Good luck Cotto.

Yep! And let's remember that some "who's-this-guy?" have been as close as getting the fight stopped making Cotto dance around the ring punch drunk silly.

I don't really see a threat out there for Floyd but ODLH. First it was Margarito the biggest nightmare to Floyd and he got beaten by Williams. And then it was Williams the one with a chance and got beaten as well. We have all these fighters beating each other but not really the dominating one. Cotto is the only undefeated one in that group but somehow his style doesn't convince me against Mayweather.

Mar,
Same here, its possible but I DOUBT his style (slower hands, slower feet, prone to cuts, has been close to KO in his fights, penetrable defense, robotic style, etc.) is what it takes to beat Floyd (I hope I am wrong).

Im from the south side of Akron Ohio. Its a ugly rough blue collared place. We hate people with egos like Mayweather. He thinks he is this great person bragging that he was wearing his cheap watch on Colin Coherds show. He said it was only 100,000k. You know how many families go hungry that you could feed. How many kids die from cancer because they couldnt afford the proper heath care. How much is that watch worth to him. To me that is too much on my chest. I would give my self enough to live a average middle class life and the rest I would devote to helping kids, churches, kids living in poverty. And help find cures and feed poeple and find them jobs. I wouldn't go rolling around with a onslot of security and 20 carats worth of diamonds on my body. I wouldnt say what Floyd says in interviews. A reporter asked Mayweather "Is there more to life than money" Mayweather replied "Yeah more money". He is horrible for the sport. How can you not see that.
Im sure he is guilty to the excess. Your god is what you obsess and worship the most to me he looks like money is his god. Mayweather isn't a Roberto Clemente type sports star humanitarian.

Re: Mayweather on FNF says Cotto basiclly isnt worthy. Sounds like a duck to me.
Cotto`s not exactly screaming for the fight either though.
if Bob Arum thought Cotto could beat Mayweather HE would put up enough money for Mayweather to take the fight.
ol` Bob knows how good Foyd is and does`nt want his prize pet anywhere near him.
a good boxer beats Cotto.look at the trouble he had with Malingnaggi and Corley .Mayweather beats him.........easy

Well read first. Yes I could care less if Money May was dead or in prison. He dose nothing to contribute to society. He takes up hundreds of millions that could do better in charities . I am not the stupid one you cant see through it and realize it for what it is and how insouciant and supercilious he is. Dose he have charities like Lebron James? If he dose he isn't proud of it. We had Lebron James out here on west Exchange street last Thanksgiving eve handing out 1000's of turkeys. The man has saved schools in Akron and other
places from being condemned. He has organizations all
over. He builds parks ,playgrounds, schools, he helps entire cities. Tell me or find me how many tens of millions Mayweather has given away. How he has improved high school grad percentages in Grand Rapids.
Find me that. If he carried him self more like Pavlik I would like him but I dont. He means nothing to me. I quit watching him after the Judah fight.

I admire people like Patrick Tillman. He like me served over seas. Mayweather would give anything up for any one less than himself. You people cant see how egotistical and greedy he is you must all be blind.
