I'm all for talking trash to hype a fight, but I don't think racial remarks should have any place in modern day boxing. What if Calzaghe said something like "I'll never lose to a black man" or "I'm knock him back to Africa", ect ect.
I can't fault Bernard for saying it because controversy sells, but I think its disgraceful that this is what people need to sell a fight now adays. I think its enough to know that an undefeated champion is risking his record and reputation by fighting a modern day great.

That 9 punches a second thing was ridiculous. I'm pretty sure Hopkins isn't going to let Calzaghe hold both hands millimeters away from his face. But maybe that is some muscle twitch reflex test or something and that number is significant.

id rather see a fighter throw 9punches a second verses a fighter who throw 9 punches a round while clinching, headbutting, and anything he can do while facing away from the ref of course LOL

Theres gonna be a few head clashes I would think with B-Hops head down and both of them trying to come forward. B-Hop may try the Bika route which is maul inside and B-Hop can work inside with the best of em. B-Hop is going to time his counters after about 3-5 punches from Calzaghe when he's pulling back. Just throwing punches in bunches won't work Calzaghe has to pull off another Lacy type performance, but even higher because B-Hop is no Lacy.
I think that's exactly whats going to happen as far as the mauling inside. This is going to be an ugly fight. Calzaghe would be best served behind the jab but squared up on the inside, Hopkins is going to win.
And if they (Calzaghe's camp) honestly think that Sal then people are going to think Calzaghe looks terrible. I hate that slapping at air shit >:mad looks retarded, I hope Hopkins beats him up >:mad

Either ways Joe comes thru as winner because at this weight or super mid, he has too much of everything for Hopkins, The guy (J.C) is special because he always finds a way to win, broken hands or not,
His mental and physical toughness is so underrated, he is as strong as a bull, Kessler and Lacy thought they could out strength him but to no avail,
Also Joe has only been cut once in his career...and was last defeated as a kid back in 1990 and that was up for argument even....Ya don't stay lucky or avoid the best when you have been around that long its not possible...
This will not even be Joe's hardest fight, but one where we will see him shine, only for us to hear "Well B.Hop was past his best, he wouldn't have beaten him in his prime" Which is rubbish as he has wanted this for so long...and now the time has come, he has more than enough equipment both mentally and physically to deal with anything B.Hop tries....

Yeah it is me with Rick H bud...met him a couple of times....ironic that on this occasion it was outside the M.E.N the night Joe beat Lacy up, I was lucky to be ringside for that exhibition...
He looked twice as devastating from ringside than he did on t.v if thats possible...

I was quite shocked when those words came out of the Nards lips and saw the venom in his eyes when he said that, Joes so laid back but you could see he was taken back a bit with that coment. Do you all think Joe will use those words to motivate himself even more and when the fights on and they are in the clinches do you think Joe will whisper in his ear that he is loosing to a white boy.
