Froch impressed last night!
He handled the pole quite well and got him out in stlye. His speed wasnt at the best, simply because he wasnt fighting against somebody who was fast. He beat him at his game, looking for a good shot. He showed us last night that if he puts a barrage of punches he really will hurt them. Those punches were accurate and hurtful and you could see that last night. Some of the sting on those punches will cause problems to anybody at 168-175.
He cant wait for a long time for his next fight and im hoping its in the next 2-3 months so we can see him in his world title showdown. He showed respect to JC, that was good to see too.
-
Re: Froch impressed last night!
The pole wasn't exactly a high-calibre opponent though was he? He barely threw anything back. I think Froch is telling himself he's world champion material, but I don't think he is.. not by a long shot.
-
Re: Froch impressed last night!
Froch is a good fighter and i know he didnt get up for this fight ( after the cancellation ) but he has way to many bad habits, and i think he has a very high opinion of himself , to be honest im sick of him running his mouth of , i just want him to take on a world class fighter.
-
Re: Froch impressed last night!
Why dont u think he is though? I know the pole wasnt the best fighter, but if you didnt realise, Inkin pulled out twice, prior to this fight and this resulted in a change of fighter twice. I think he looked very strong last night, and that pole had a fucking chin on him. We will see where Carl goes after this, but he looked awesome last night.

Yea Tam i do think he is a good fighter and yes Inkin pulled out , which wasnt Carls fault , but i thought he looked 1 paced , poor hands down defence , and pretty sloppy , if im honest. I know he can do better , but the hands down style is risky to say the least.

Well as Froch said at the end he was in there to put on a good knockout. He wasnt trying to box the guy, he was looking for big punches to get him out of there quick. If he had faught, he usually ups the pace in the later rounds or if he finds an opening early. Inkin is a totally different kettle of fish compared with the pole, but even so, some of those shots were very hurtful and powerful and I believe if anybody got caught with them they would fall. Accuracy is a good thing for carl, he doesnt waste needless energy at the start and picks his shots well. That can cause a lot of problems for fighters in the future too. His defence wasnt really tested, but as I have said before he knows his range very well and has very slick footwork. Its a good form of defence to have for a fighter and I believe with his powerhouse stlye he will be able to work everybody in the weight class. Although the hands need to be higher, he is so far doing well. Its easy for people to say he has a weak defence, but has hasnt ever been hurt for his defence to be pointed against. He isnt doing too bad at 23-0 19 kos if you ask me.
Hes a great prospect and he showed that again last night. He is motivated and going places this year, keep it up Frochy !!!!!
-
Re: Froch impressed last night!
Yeah I was impressed by Froch last night . You could see the force in his punches . I'd still be worried though if he fought Kessler with his hands down like that cuz everytime he trades his chin is way up in the air. He can get away with it at this level but not in world class.
Still a good powerful performance though .
-
Re: Froch impressed last night!
I think Carl talked well last night, seems to have toned down the bullshit a bit. he needs to arrange a fight for August IMO against just anyone, not just go straight after JC cos he ain't gonna get it, the best way to force the issue would be to just set up an event and make an offer that can't be refused to someone like Berrio, Andrade, anyone in the genuine top ten cos he is still yet to face one (I reckn Andrade is a real fough fight for him, but they're the guys he should be facing if he's genuine world level.).
The opponent last night was garbage, seriously, with this guy and Thoma Bonins record they must be counting tough guy contests over there in Poland on proffesional records. He had absoutley nothing to offer, though he did take his beating for 5 rounds without looking for a way out which should be commended.
-
Re: Froch impressed last night!
Yes I agree a top ten fighter is needed. Although he was going to fight Inkin last night, I personally dont think Carl should waste his time with him now. Inkin has screwed him around a lot and he needed that fight last night. Lets hope he does fight a high profile fighter next because he is definatly at their level now. Imagine Miranda-Froch, that really would be a powerhouse brawl.

Re: Froch impressed last night!
you are a froch fan though mate lol, to be honest once he steps it up against a good boxer with a solid chin he will lose, he appears to relie on his power too much for my liking. it will cost him.

but why is that the case though? His stlye of fighting is power and putting in hurtful combinations which consist of accurate pressure punches. Its very effective as you have all seen from his impressive record so far. You all say when he steps up against a good boxer, but whos the boxer ultimatly going to be? All of them bar from JC I personally think Froch can handle and would give them problems all night, boxer or not boxer they will feel the power in the end.

Well I think it would be one of the best fights to be made at 168 right now. Kessler has been very inactive himself and really does need a fight soon to see where he stands. Remember what happend to Jeff Lacy after the JC loss? He went shit. I hope this isnt the case with Kessler because hes a great talent. From what we have seen I can see why people might think he would be Froch. But times are changing and Froch is still growing into a very strong fighter.

Except, for except knowing he was hurt against JC,nobody knows how bad it is,because his camp wont say. He just may be in need of time to heal up. Froch isnt exactly my fave fighter, but Id hate to see Kessler take another fight when he's hurt. Take the time, and heal it

Re: Froch impressed last night!
I just don't see it, thought he looked poor again. Looked slow and you just can't become an elite fighter with defense like that. Especially if you don't have incredible reflexes.

He didnt even get caught that although the fighter wasnt the best, his defence wasnt too bad if you ask me. Did u ever see him take anything more than a little jab or a right? Nothing major if you asked me. As ive said, his range and footwork help him with his defence. It may look easy to hit him, but his presence in the ring can really put you off looking for a big shot. Who has ever landed one that you can think of? I dont understand why people think his defence is going is such a big problem. There is more talk about is not being so good, although he has won all of his fights. Cant be too bad if you ask me.
-
Re: Froch impressed last night!
The other guy just didn't do anything though, hard to get hit often if the other guy's not throwing. He was just too worried about Froch's offence. I think that's partly your point but the fact is that won't work forever, when he finally fights a good fighter that will change, it always does, power's not enough by itself.
I have seen less of Froch than you have, I have no doubt of that. I've only seen like 6 or 7 of his fights and for the most part most of the guys were too defensive to land at will on him (there was one fight when he was coming up couple years ago where he got tagged at will, I can't remember his name, maybe somebody will, he was an unknown) but that will change as his opposition level goes up. Can you imagine Kessler having a hard time landing his 1-2 on Froch? I just can't.

Re: Froch impressed last night!
tam seddon = carl froch
-
Re: Froch impressed last night!
But he is improving though, that is clearly evident from his fights. The power is a factor though which WILL be the difference in many of Carl fights in the future. You simply can't take those right hands and not be effected. Carl ALWAYS turns it into a fight and although he hasnt faught the best its a good start for him I think. He would have worked on a lot more, but against the pole he was just trying to end it fast, because he needed a big KO to be honest to get any attention. That is why the Inkin fight would have been very intresting last night to see where he stood amongst a higher tier fighter. He was confident Carl and he has been fucked around a lot before this, so props to him for putting on a good fight. Kessler COULD find it difficult against Froch, thats why I believe the fight should happen in the future. It would be a cracker but for the time being both men need to get a top ten name on their records again.
Maybe Jeff Lacy should turn some attention to Carl, this would be a good fight for both men I believe who need a push to get more recognition. Lacy needs a name on his record and can bang too, Froch needs a name and a top ten fighter on his record. Could be intresing I think.
-
Re: Froch impressed last night!
Carl Froch is one tough guy, no doubt about that. However, based on what I saw last night, he'd be ill-advised to seek a fight with Kessler, Pavlik, or Calzaghe. Any one of those would rip him a new one.

Re: Froch impressed last night!
Froch is getting better and better. His hands will always stay down that is his style. He has a good defence and tucks his chin in. He has power and a good range of punches. I believe he can live with the world class fighters and he showed respect to Galzaghe which is a sign of class and let his boxing do the talking. I believe he will become a world champion and then he will beat the Kessler's and Miranda's of the world and unify the titles. He is very good.

He was fighting a Polish club fighter. If he'd sparked him in the first 30 seconds it wouldn't have been impressive, but he didn't even put him down in four rounds. That Polish guy wouldn't even be an acceptable sparring partner for a guy like Kessler, and Froch hasn't fought anybody near world class yet. When he does he'll be facing somebody with as good or better handspeed/footwork/power and with a far better defence than Froch has. Let's see how impressive he looks then.

He was fighting a third choice fighter, it wasnt his fault. That Polish guy had a pretty firm chin if you asked me, Carl was looking for a BIG shot to make it look better, if he had just gone for him maybe he could have ended it in the first. Hence why he threw that monster right uppercut...
As ive said many times before, he is stepping up, Inkin was the step up but he pulled out twice. Whoever he fights next will be a step up because it will be for the WBC title. It's either JC or a highly ranked fighter fighting for the belt.

He bottled his chance to fight Calzaghe.
He'll get the belt given to him and will make a first defence against somebody not much better than the Polish tomato can, but eventually he'll have to face somebody world class and then we'll see how good he is. :)

Re: Froch impressed last night!
You got to be fukking kidding me? Fraud looked like absolute garbage last night. That was a 1st round knock out fight if I ever saw one. I can't believe that 37 year old made it to the 4th round. Fraud tries to fight like
he's Nassem Hamed. I have no doubt, Kessler, Miranda, Bute, Green would smoke this clown. The guy just ain't that fukking good. It was obvious. He and Witter were a disgraced last night. One of the worse nights of boxing ever
-
Re: Froch impressed last night!
Well,It was good to see another Top guy from across the pond get some air time over here in the States. For what/who Froch was matched with, regardless of card mix-ups,Froch did what you should do,take em out.But his opponent was a Hybrid Heavybag equipped with legs and Gloves....only needed Everlast printed on his forhead.Froch has a way to go but might have some tools he can refine before he even thinks of Calzaghe/Pavlik/ Kessler,Hes not ready for the top teir by any means. He did receive some good Exposure last night....no pun intended ;D

Quite VD you are never happy and a British fighter NEVER ever pleases. It wasnt his fault he had to fight him. He was suppose to fight Dennis Inkin, ranked number 2 in the world. But HE pussied out twice, so it wasnt his fault at all. Why did he look garbage may I ask? He clearly won every round and threw A LOT of hurtful shots and was clearly in command, how is that possible garbage, explain please?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

And Carl Froch didnt personally ring up Calzaghe and ask for a fight? He WANTS the JC fight more than anything! How much of a dumb post was that really. Have you even looked at the WBC top 15? there are a lot of fucking hard fighers in there and would test Froch. But can you not read, he was suppose to fight Dennis Inkin last night but he pulled out twice and then an Amercian pulled out. To even fight was good enough for froch to be honest.

Do you really think that telegraphed uppercut and that stalking your opponent with your hands down crap would work with a top level fighter? Seriously do you? He got away with it last night cuz he was fighting a 37 year old D level fighter. But he would never get away with that with a top level fighter. And you seriously got to know that.

He was given the opportunity to fight Calzaghe a year ago and bottled it. The phone call on ITV was just a bit of pr for Froch.
It's easy to look like Sugar Ray Robinson against fighters like that Polish guy. It's when you move up in class that you discover how good fighters are, and Froch hasn't fought anybody near world class yet. His last two fights were a club fighter and a porn star. Let's see how good he looks against a full-time world-class fighter in his prime. I think you're in for a bit of a shock when we do.

I think your in a bit of shock to be honest. If that was a carl froch barely trying last night, looking for one shot to end it, I cant wait to see a Froch being at his A game. He will up his game a lot against a better fighter and you know that for a fact. So you cant really say he would fight like that against a better fighter to be honest. He will feel a lot more pressure and we will see the best of Froch, he can only get better and he is doing that.
He didnt bottle the fight at all, he faught Peter Manfredo instead...

I seen 13 Fraud fights. That's more than enough to make an opinion on him. Is he talented? Yes he is. That's obvious. Can he be a title holder? Now a days he can be. Is he elite? No. Can he beat Kessler, Green, Calzaghe or Bute? No. He's not as good as them. It's that simple.

Re: Froch impressed last night!
Yeah I didn't see it. He was slower then ever, open and wiiide and he puts punches together absolutely awful. Honestly you can't convince me that his combos aren't garbage, he puts his punches together terrible and anyone with any sort of speed and not afraid of Froch is going to be able to hit him and it's not like it's hard to see his punches coming.
I would like to see Froch - Dirrell.

But if you had heard what he said after the fight you would know that Carl was looking for a big knockout and didnt try and box the guy at all .He wanted to put on a show for the fans, not wait there and go 12 rounds with a big chin'd poll. But hes on the up and people like Kessler and Green are on the down. Bute isnt showing too many signs of fighting a top ten fighter either and isnt making any noises at 168. Kessler-Froch is very likely to happen and it will be a very good fight. A question VD, over these 13 fights, is carl getting better or not? Thats what I need to know...

Re: Froch impressed last night!
Actually I've seen about every Froch fight there has been over the last few years including last night but hey, whatever you want to believe is fine. If you really think Froch impressed last night and is ready for everybody in the division then I suggest watching the rest of the division.
