Bilbo's Clan and Role Assignments
Ok fellow Clansters. As we now have several members I have decided it's time for the roles to be handed out.
So let me introduce all clan members to each other.
First off there's myself, Bilbo of course. I take the part of Frodo in my adventures as he like Leftylee was a horrible turncoat who not only took my beloved ring and threw it into Mount Doom but also stole my thunder by having his own adventure made into a blockbuster movie.
So I have stolen my glory back and in this clan Bilbo once again takes center stage.
Ok so to my companions. My fellow hobbits are comprised of my Filipino friends Bruce Lee, Rains, Pacstraight and Seven.
Bruce Lee as my first vassal from way back and most loyal member gets the role of Sam Gamgee and is my dependable companion as I retrace Frodo's steps to Mount Doom (in this case to get my damn ring back).
Julius Rains is the smooth singing Pippin, a popular and poetic hobbit who has the voice of a hobbit angel.
Have you heard him sing?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQ1iu39TLcg
Ok Pacstraight occupies the role of Merry and Seven is Fatty Bolagr, sadly ommitted from the feature film but who played a signifcant early role in helping Frodo (now Bilbo) escape into the Old Forest acting as a decoy to the Ring Wraiths.
Ok now we come to the non hobbit members of the clan.
Clubber is Radaghast the Brown, a tall wizard who talked to animals and was famously described by Saruman as 'a simple idiot and a fool'.
Dizaster is the loyal dwarf and hobbit friend Gimli. Stout and strong he is loyal to the hobbit cause.
And finally Katfight's is the beautiful half-Elven Queen Arwen, in this case of Irish Elven stock.
As we have no Aragorn I as clan leader Bilbo will fill his role also and have take Kat to be my queen. She has now swapped her tiny, dirty cramped caravan full of screaming little kids and instead come to live with me, in my tiny, dirty, cramped hobbit hole full of screaming fellow clan members. I hope she realises how lucky she is.
Obviously as a clan allianced to each other we need some mutual enemies to alliance against. Therefore non clan members have also been allotted role.
LeftyLee it will come as no suprise, is Smeagal/Gollum, the famous traitor turncoat.
He works for his overlord Violent D, who plays Sauron the Dark Lord himself in this roleplay.
I have also appointed honourary roles to other prominent Saddonians as I see fit.
Boxing Gorilla is Beorn, the friendly human/bear shape shifer who helped me on my own journeys and provided haven for my dwarven friends.
CutMeMick has the role of Elrond, the head of the Elves, most senior of the Middle Earth allies, father of the beautifal Arwen and by virtue of my marriage to Katfights, my father in law.
Saddo has perhaps the greatest role of all, as Eru Illuvator, the one God, and creator of Middle Earth and all that is in it. He is seldom seen but works tirelessly behind the scenes sustaining the Middle Earth Universe.
I have a few roles I would love to give out to certain members but acceptance would require Clan membership.
At 6 ft 2 and a long time hobbit friend I would love to offer Miles the role of Gandalf.
As a promising young warrior and a dashingly good looking young man I'd like to offer fellow hobbit friend Hitmandonny the role of Legolas
Finally I'd like to give Legion the role, as requested, of the cave troll in the Mines of Moria. At first I thought he was wasn't ugly enough for the part but on watching the film again I see actually that the cave troll was indeed hideiously ugly and therefore a fitting role for Legion to play.
Thankyou for your time, costumes can be purchased here

Happy rehearshals :)

What about clan member Pavlik? What's his role?

Re: Bilbo's Clan and Role Assignments
I'll take the role of Gwaihir; that way I can drop you and Sam over the abyss instead of racing you to midget glory.

Come on Legion I know you want to join the clan. You're welcome, how about becoming Otho Sacksville Baggins? Maybe even Lobelia since you whine and snipe as much as she does.
I'll even give you some cheap cutlery too :)

Ah, I have received no rep from him did you explain to him the entry requirements?
There are two.
1. You must be willing to exchange rep daily with me and the rest of the clan like two gay lovers exchanging body fluids.
2. You must not be leftylee.
Only after acceptance of these two rules can you be part of the clan.
He needs to give rep to me and the members before he gets a role in Clan Baggins.

No problem, remember anyone is free to join the clan, but they must exchange rep and they must NOT be leftylee.

Re: Bilbo's Clan and Role Assignments
Hey Pavlik thank's for reporting to duty.
I'll assign you a role later. Generally my Filipino friends get the role of hobbits and non Asians get to be big folk. Once I know more about you I'll find you an appropriate role within the clan.
Costumes can be gotten from here

Re: Bilbo's Clan and Role Assignments
I am indeed a friend of all things hobbit like and would be happy to take on the role of Gandalf. I see no conflict of interest being Old Guard and being a member of the Baggins clan. I may need to delve back into the Lord of the Rings tomes in order to recall my mastery of all things wizard like.
Hello, fellow little things of middle earth! It is I, Gandalf.

Ok you'd be most welcome, and as stated you get a costume and everything.
You will need to write Baggins Clan under your name as unlike the Old Guard we very much a clique and proud of it.
He who would not proudly wear the Badge of Baggins is not fit for service in the Shire.......or something like that.
But if you accept then you are most definitely in, :)

Im really looking forward to wearing the dress and smoking a pipe. And of course hearing the beautiful singing of the young hobbits. Just got to dig up my staff and practice some enlighterned wizardry.

Hey Miles glad you joined us Buddy, if only I had such recruiting powers in real life, I could be like the great Adolf.
I'll get the rep spreading going now.
Damn too much rep in the last 24 hours. I'll get you in the morning Gandalf

Re: Bilbo's Clan and Role Assignments
Ok so a quick Clan News update for current members.
Firstly we welcome Miles my oldest Saddo friend and the first person who ever gave me a coolclick to the clan. He has made me very proud by accepting to take on the role of Gandalf and act as the spiritual mentor and father figure of the whole clan.
Secondly the internet boxing sensation and Charlie Zelenoff conquerer 'Kid Thunder' has pledged an oath to Clan Baggins also and will hopefully fit in well.
Negotiations to bring Don Omega and the Blinky Eyed kid into the fold are currently underway.

You have a remarkable memory. So all this rep and coolclick madness started then? ;D
I will wear my dress with pride and try to age as quickly as possible in order fulfill my role as the old bearded one.
Can we get US beef in Middle Earth?

I'm not sure what a wizard diet would be but us hobbits eat very well.
We have not only breakfasts, but second breakfasts, elevensies, lunch, tea, dinner and supper so you won't starve when you're in the Shire.

The Shire does seem to be a charming little place. I wouldnt mind setting up a game of cricket down there and practice my seam bowling against all the little folk. And after we could drink half pints of beer in a local public house establishment. Being a wizard I might even indulge with a full pint in a pint glass. Wild times.

But it's exciting thought innit Miles, I mean imagine if your students knew that when you came home from class you logged online and became Gandalf the Grey?
They would think you were well cool

Some would be dumbstruck and possibly a little frightened. Some might think of me as an alternative hipster wizard and admire the thought of their teacher throwing a few moves with the staff (the stick, not the co teachers). I actually do a pretty mean Gandalf impression. What does he say in the mines of Moria when fighting the Balrog? "You shall not pass"...or something like that. I have it to a tee.

Has the Lord of the Rings made it over to Korea yet Miles? I imagine with you being so far East you are probably only now getting Knight Rider and Baywatch and that the Hoff is about to become the biggest star in Asia?

The Hoff is the type of guy that you would expect to turn out to be popular here. I have this cable network service and I was browsing the music performances and documentaries last night. Some shockingly bad stuff on there. Everything from Boston to the damn Scorpions with a lot of Mariah Carey thrown in for good measure. Amongst all this I found the Rolling Stones documentary Gimme Shelter which I enjoyed watching. But yeah, The Hoff wouldnt be out of place here.
But back to the main point. Yes, Lord of the Rings was hugely popular out here. The mullet is especially popular with young men. The pop bands out here are just obscene. I mean, the gayest looking creations ever dreamt up. I refuse to watch the dross on the pop channels. Utterly vile and the most unfortunate random use of English in the lyrics. Sample lyric:
come on girl do u like it? i like it i like it
i luv you i luv you A~ what u gonna do about that
and
I love you 너 하나만 I need-e- you 널 바라보는 눈빛과 내 말투도
조금씩 그댈 닮아가네요 I love you make this love to me
kevin I`m so in to you I love you
우리 함께 라면 난 기분이 함께 하루 하루라면 매일이
Baby 24/7 all day, i`m clean, so clean
What's it all about? Am I getting old and out of touch with the young groovers or what?
