Saddo's Official Pound for Pound List II
Some time ago I set about compiling a pound for pound list taht represented the opinions of the Saddo's community.
That was in early January, so I feel its time to revise the situation.
#(Floyd is deemed retired.)

Here's my own.

4. Juan Manuel Marquez
5. Israel Vasquez
6. Kelly Pavlik

Re: Saddo's Official Pound for Pound List II
I cant believe no one has Hatton in the top 10. I'm not just saying this a as a big fan. But all he done was lose to the best p4p fighter and suddenly he's disappeared. Still number 1 at 140 pounds and a two weight world champ. Baffles me :dontknow:

Well he was number 9 or 10 on my list before the Mayweather fight, and he lost that fight in a bad way, and didn't look too good in his comeback fight so he stays just outside the top 10 for now.

This is the anti-hatton forum didnt you realise.
Regardless of 43 wins. 2 weight world championships, 4 title belts etc because hatton lost to the greatest p4p fighter in generations he is now a washed up has been.
The fascination with lower weight class fighters on here is nothing short of ridiculous!!

Surley if he beats Paulie, a prime champion he has to come back in the top ten.

I agree, lets take Cristian Mijares for example. He got beat by 3 bums. Hatton only lost lost to P4P best while beating big name fighters in Tzsyu and Castillo. Like Mijares, Hatton has also unified. Is Mijares a two weight world champ ? No. Anyways I dont need to say no more though as I might get a few people moaning.

No its because he hasnt looked good since beating Tszyu. He needed a completely static target in Urangotang to look half decent for a while.
Thats why he's possibly a has been.

Im not sure Paulie has looked garbage in last couple of fights but yes Hatton may just crack the top 10 replacing Pavlik, because Pavlik is still a new comer to the championship level where as Hatton has had far more experience in championship fights. The question is though say if Hatton fights and beats Pacquiao where will he be rated then ?? thats an interesting one.

Oh please Mijares lost when he was a mere novice those losses shouldn't count regarding his P4P status.

Mijares hasn't lost in 6 years. He just came off a win unifying titles, against a guy that was capable of being competitive.
Hatton just fought grandpa Lazcano, in ultimately a fight that was put into place so his fans could see him beat someone up. The was nothing competitive about it.

You don't hold fighters to losses that were early in there career when they were novices do you know how many great fighters have lost a few early in there career ?? Alexis Arguello, and hell didn't Dick Tiger lose his first 5 fights ?? but does anyone count those losses when rating him ?? or Arguello for that matter ?? no because thats not how it works Lee. The fact is Mijares has been very impressive since becoming champion. Where as Hatton has only looked good against Tszyu in 2005, and a washed up Castillo who looked like a shot fighter in the fight before the Hatton one. What has Hatton done since the Tszyu fight that should make him rated higher than Mijares ??

You could argue Castillo was shot. But many people felt he weren't, and he didn't look completely shot in the fight. As I say he has unified the belts, beaten a then current world champ in Urango and destroyed a big name in Castillo. He done it in a fashion that no one has ever done to him. Lazcano was also the 8th best jr welter when he fought Hatton. Not a bad opponent to face coming off a KO loss. Mijares aint fought bigger names than Hatton or scored bigger wins IMO. Anyways ICB I've had this Ricky this and that argument a hundred times with you, you know how I feel about the situation, it's pointless me baging on about it.

So a man od 43-1 doesnt make your top 10 because he hasnt impressed you in victory.
You cannot argue with hattons record its far more established than most of your top 10.
If we were completely focusing on performance over everything else then surely mayweather would of only been 3-4 when he was around??

Hatton has ONE good victory on his resume that was worthy of p4p status and that was 3 years ago. He's not far down the list mind you I have him in the 12-13 area. Like I said a win over Paulie or Torres for that matter puts him at 10. As Lefty has said it's not as though either one of us is going to change the others mind so this is pointless.
I would like to know how Berto got on your list though.

But thats completely untrue
he has been beating top class opposition for 3-4 years now.
Castillo, urango, collazo = all still have impecable records barring their losses to hatton.
Maussa, phillips, olivera, lazcano = all world class competitors on their day
The tszyu fight gets talked about so much because at the time Kostya was the fighter in the world to beat and hatton didnt just beat him but stopped him with a superhuman performance.
But dont let the doubters fool you, hatton has been seeing off world championship opposition ever since and has only come a croper against the worlds best p4p fighter

My last LB 4 LB list I had Mijares at 9 but to be honest, I haven't really seen him fight all that much. I switched him with Vlad because I feel he should really be in a LB 4 LB list and after a post a little while ago, my opinion changed.

That's how I feel about Hatton's place as well. I didn't discredit him for losing to Floyd but I did drop him out of my list because I feel those other fighters are better than Ricky and his last fight wasn't exactly a comeback party.

I think there's a reason for the lower weight classes getting some mention. One they are the ones fighting each other with less BS than the higher weight divisions and they are obviously very skilled fighters. I think they are underappreciated.
Also, in almost everyone's lists, I see Calzaghe, Hopkins, Cotto, Pavlik in the top 5, all of whom are not in the lower weight classes.

I think he looked great taking out Castillo. Some say JLC was washed up but great fighters like JLC don't go down without a fight. Hatton applied the pressure and landed one of the best body shots I've ever seen.

I think on the Cintron win i had to include him, but I had to deabte where.
I would have loved to have put my man Ricky on the list, but in truth he hasn't done much lately.
Two fights a year is not fantastic going.

Still plugging the Tszyu fight you sound like George Bush saying "9/11, 9/11, 9/11"
I am a very what have you done lately guy, Sergio Mora just beat the man to beat at 154, does that mean he is a p4p guy? No
Hatton's last 3 fights
Lazcano - way past it, nothing but a showcase fight for Hatton, you can't make it out to be anything more than it was. Lazcano coming in off a loss following 15 months of inactivity. Currently at #9 on the ring list
Mayweather - we don't need to go into this again
Jose Luis Castillo - see Lazcano. If there was justice he should have been coming in off a loss, Ngoudjo definately won that fight.
Juan Urango - Power and nothing else. Not exactly a stellar performance by Ricky. Currently # 7 on the ring list.
Luis Collazo - The softest punching WW in the game. It's lucky for Hatton that he got that flash knockdown in the first round, or it would have been a draw.
Mijares last 5 fights
Munoz - unification match against a legitimate super flyweight in his prime.
Still rated at # 3 by the ring
Navarro - also in his prime coming in off a loss that would have been a draw. Still rated at # 7 by the ring
Gorjux - ok this was his mandatory so he took him out in one
Kikui - In his prime. One of the highest rated Japanese super Flyweights at the time.
Arce - Blood and guts action fighter. Still in his prime. Still rated #5 by the ring.

There is really no real clear cut way to determine these lists, outside of someone saying something like cory spinks is no 3 on my list.....i don't really see any wrong answers, the top three or so are always gonna be close but everything else is subjective and varies on opinion. It's cool to see everyone pretty much on the same page pretty much....shows these lists posted here aren't just fan based.....too hard for me to make one, i change my mind every two seconds.

(sorry..I don't want to gatecrash you fellas little debate but)
You changed it from 3 to 5 opponents just to include Arce, didn't you? ;D
I'm a neutral where Hatton and Mijares are concerned - I don't rate either top ten P4P. But your post just bolstered the argument for Hatton being above Mijares
Judging soley on current comp, Hatton's record, even with a loss, looks better.
Munoz - Had a strap. So what? Hatton fought Urango for his strap.
Navarro - coming off a loss.
Gorjux - WHO? Journeyman.
Kikui - WHO? Coming off a loss.
Arce - Former champ.
Hatton lasting 10 rounds with Floyd pisses all over that lot ;)

Just because you haven't heard of someone doesn't mean they aren't world class. bottom line is Mijares is fighting the best competition available to him and winning convincingly the next step has to be Montiel, maybe Gorres otherwise he is clearly dominant in that division.
Hatton has not faced the best competition available lately, but his opponents have had more televised efforts. TV status and p4p status are two entirely different things.
Munoz, Kikui and Navarro are all top fighters, that gave it their all in those fights and I reemphasize they are all in their primes.
You compare Munoz to Urango
well look at the fights, Munoz and Mijares fought tooth and nail for 12 rounds in an exciting fight.
Hatton and Urango fought for five rounds and then Hatton pulled that John Ruiz shit for the rest of the fight, I don't see how that helps his p4p status personally.

hattonthehammer has hatton on the list right above Berto lol.
