I tried my damnedest to get a working link....I freaKING missed it.

Re: Alcine vs. Santos (SPOILER!!!!!)
Yeah didn't want to spoil it in the FNF thread.
But yeah. Left hand down the middle in between Alcine's punches.
Maybe it was me but Alcine seemed completely lost against a southpaw which is so odd because he beat Simms of course with the southpaw killer the right hand down the middle. But he just seemed real tentative and didn't see Santos' left hand all night. He had a nice jab going and had the momentum going his way but he just didn't see that last punch and carried his weight into it.

You in Canada though don't you get it on TV?

Re: Alcine vs. Santos (SPOILER!!!!!)
The year off hurt him. he should have stayed active and kept his momentum going after beating Simms. Congrats to santos though.
-
Re: Alcine vs. Santos (SPOILER!!!!!)
i need to see that clip again. in the live link it keeps on freezing a bit right before the punch landed. :( anyways good showing for Santos. he seemed very stiff the first 2 rounds but then got his movement going and was able to pull it off.

It looked like it was on some sort of French showtime? It had ads for the Tudors and Weeds.

Re: Alcine vs. Santos (SPOILER!!!!!)
Alcine looked like he didn't really want to fight. Fukk him. I had Santos by KO in the contest. So that's good

Good call. :appl:
I figured the inactivity would be too much for Santos but good for him.

In all honesty when he beat Simms, it looked like Simms didn't want to be there at the time. I think it was more Simms not doing anything than Alcine being the man.
Dear Puerto Rico,
Quit winning all the titles.

Re: Alcine vs. Santos (SPOILER!!!!!)
We should all know Santos has good power being he's one of the only guys I've ever seen hurt Margarito.
-
Re: Alcine vs. Santos (SPOILER!!!!!)
I missed the link can you post it again?
-
Re: Alcine vs. Santos (SPOILER!!!!!)
Damn Daniel Santos came outta nowhere. I hadn't seen him fight in years. Then he gets the title shot and wins a world title.
-
Re: Alcine vs. Santos (SPOILER!!!!!)
Decent hand speed, southpaw with really good power.
If he can stay active I def. see good things for him at 154.
How about we see Bunema vs. Santos.
Anyone up for that?
Seems like Bunemas caught a second wind and confidence...
-
Re: Alcine vs. Santos (SPOILER!!!!!)
Alcine said that perhaps the fight was stopped to quick. Someone has to speak with him and let him know that if you don't stand up before the end of the 10 count you are KO. ;D
Great for Santos!!! Unfortunately his career has been characterized by long periods of inactivity (and here we go again) due to issues with promoters, among others. I am hoping that at this stage of his career he can make a couple of good fights. Perhaps, one alternative for Santos is fighting Margarito for a third time after Cotto beats him.

Dear Killership,
Unfortunately this time, we will not be able to please you. Puerto Rico will continue adding World Titles to its collection ;D
By the way, feel free to visit the Island at any moment, where in addition to boxing talent we have the most beatiful women with 2 Miss Universe in the last 10 years and a total of 5. Santos was actually ahead on my scorecards I had him up 3 rounds to 2.
Alcine was waking up and seemed to be bringing pressue in round 5.
In the 6th Alcine was again coming forward and then in a short sequence Santos stepped back and threw a straigh left that caught Alcine on the side of his head at 1st look I though it was on the ear but after looking at it again it looked more towards the temple.
Alcine went down and managed to slowly get up but then falls back down the ref. waived it off. In the post fight interview Alcine said he felt the fight had been stopped prematurely. Go figure? :p
Heres the KO: Enjoy!!!

True.
Maybe next time I should keep track of my own predictions when I make them. Would I had remembered that I made that prediction last year I would have stuck with it. But oh! well it happens and I've got no problems with being wrong cause it wont be the last time. :)

Re: Alcine vs. Santos (SPOILER!!!!!) Video of Fight!!!
Santos has always struck me as the type of guy who could do pretty well if he really wanted to. He's got some things going for him. I'd be shocked if Bunema beat him. Course I was shocked when Bunema beat Karmazin.

Very true. Santos hurt Tony twice in that fight. Tony even did a little dance after getting hit hard the first time.

Your response to my calling you out shows that you are a good sport. Your prediction of Juanma's success shows that deep down inside, you saw greatness. Gotta go with your instincts!!;D

Thanks for that. Stopped prematurely? Alcine is lucky the ref bothered counting cuz some would have waved it off right away with him lying there the way he was.
Im happy for Santos . Hes always been a dangerous banger . He came over here and was dropped by Sinclair but then knocke dhim out in the next round. I paid to see Santos fight Harry Simon in Manchester but he pulled out and Alexander stepped in .

Re: Alcine vs. Santos (SPOILER!!!!!) Video of Fight!!!
By the way Mick, that link was a great video collage. I noticed that Santos speaks very good English, much better than Cotto. He also seems like a humble guy. I hope that now he gets the respect he deserves from his fellow Puerto Ricans, who can be very, very, critical on the island. I remember they booed Juanma when his fight went the distance (I believe it was his last that went the distance). The fans should have realized that going the distance and winning was part of the process of maturing as a boxer for Juanma. In Santos case, he had shoes to follow like Tito and Cotto. He will never be as popular, but certainly worthy of respect from his countrymen. A fight with Mora might be intriguing stylistically.

Guilty as charged, Rican. But having said that, Santos in the past hasn't helped his own cause with some periods of lackadaisical training and inactivity. PR Punch DID say some of it was due to promoter issues. But he needs to get his butt in gear and resolve those issues if he wants to continue on top and join the upper echelon with the Trinidads and the Cottos.
