I know You Enjoy Ripping On Andrew
And Im sure it humors the hell out of you when I defend him
But if I didnt defend my fighter tooth and nail, would you want me in your corner?
-
Re: I know You Enjoy Ripping On Andrew
No.
But what's with the random thread about Andrew? I make fun of him because he ASKS for it. I would never make fun of you because you take what you do seriously; UNLIKE Andrew.
All props to you TM; you know I got respect for you.

Another random thread turned towards Andrew, actually two in a week.
So predictably I got my back up
Escpecially since the kid hasnt posted here in like 2 weeks
And as far as taking it seriously,I think he has the brains to know Im his last chance.
And few trainers will admit it,but I will, the sound of absolute exhaustion from your fighter, means your pushing them just hard enough
And next week I push harder
All fighters have a level they didnt know they had in them,my job is to find it and bring it out

Re: I know You Enjoy Ripping On Andrew
To be fair, and I like Kid Thunder, he wouldn't get ripped on nearly as much if he didn't do stupid shit like threatening regular, respected posters. Hopefully he wins his Oct. fight.
-
Re: I know You Enjoy Ripping On Andrew
Well the rest is up to him.
I'll be the 1st one to congratulate him if he wins{though it's another 1st timer}. But if he works as hard as you say he is and he wins GOOD than hell yeah, all credit to him.
I give him shit but he's just trying to do something for himself, nothing wrong with that. I still think he looks silly in the ring but I probably would too. Fuck it; when is the fight?

Oh, I'd throw you in a snake pit if I had the chance too, but true gentlemen do not discuss such matters in public.

I need this win,not for me,but for what I can do for him if he wins.
Hell I lose a fighter a month once they hear about my reputation,I intend to torture you here.
And theres allway an "easy gym"
There aint no easy here,I love when I talk to Andrew, and he sounds like death warmed over,he's allmost there.
The basic state of a training boxer is chronic exhaustion, and then you break through, and you wear your fatigue like a badge of honor.
He's allmost there.
Ive told Andrew, repeatedly,I want this fugger down in the first,so he cant get up
And as long as he's in my stable,Andrew is my responsibility and I will defend him

Getting Hillbilly Chimp out in the 1st would be great and all; but wouldn't you rather see how he does after a couple of rounds to see if he can keep his composure and not get all wildman like he does? Just curious.

Normally Id agree with that thinking, but he's been tossed in with so many guys he wasnt ready for,his record sucks.
To make him more marketable he needs a quick KO.It just looks good on his record.
Its massaging his record,he gets 2 or 3 wins we can worry about distance, right now we're walking a razor wire.I need end it and colect your check right now.
-
Re: I know You Enjoy Ripping On Andrew
It's not just his record that sucks though. I think he's the worst boxer I've ever seen in a pro ring. Maybe mullet boxer is worse, but he's about on that same level. And I guess Zelenoff is worse ??? Hard to believe but it's true.
Maybe you might improve him and I know you are in good standing on this board, but your not actually in his corner are you? You can't correct him in real time, I've played plenty of sports and had plenty of coaches and that just seems so crucial especially when you have a guy like Andrew who doesn't even know the fundamentals. You're on his phone, so it does kind of throw some salt on what you are saying here imo but it's your perogative and I guess I hope he wins but at the same time I think he should just end the sharade. And it doesn't exactly endear himself when he says he is saying he's going to beat our asses on here when we all know he wouldn't even given the chance.

Re: I know You Enjoy Ripping On Andrew
I admire you more TM for defending Andrew. I am one of the few here who knows Andrew is serious about his boxing. He may not be talented (obviously, because of his lack of training), I know he is passionate about his boxing.

One thing I really like
When I first took him on,he was almost chipper on the phone. Now,he sounds like death warmed over every time I talk to him from training.
Its the way it should be
But this misery pays dividends in the ring

Re: I know You Enjoy Ripping On Andrew
I'll take Andrew seriously when he fights like he takes the game seriously... Actions change minds not words.
You and he can say he's working and changing but, again, I'll believe it when I see it.
All respect to you and Andrew, TM but he hasn't taken his training seriously thus far... I know... I know... He hasn't had a propper trainer. Conditioning is still conditioning though.
All I'm saying is he'll shut mouths when he starts winning... If not, he's just blowing smoke up everyone's ass.
It's not hard to understand why people bust his balls.

I hate the markatibility end of it,but lest face it,when I talk to a promoter, they dont care if he's a nice guy,or that he had a bad string of luck. They only care about,"How can I sell this fight"

People don't buy nice guys... People buy Mayweathers and Mayorgas and Vics... They buy guys that make noise... They either buy guys who are gonna back it up or they buy it in hopes he gets KOd cuz they hate him...

Bluntly put,he had better walk through this bitch like Panzers over Belgium. Anything short of that will be a disapointment, even if its a win.
He's been handed the tools, now he has to use them.
Before he had legit excuses, now he doesnt,I expect a whupping
Just because I took on Andrew in a charity situation, doesnt mean I expect any less out of him.
That would be insulting to him, sort of a "Look at the po boy trying to learn how to fight" thing

I'm rooting for Andrew. It's too bad he doesn't have access to proper training and sparring. The problem is I looked at Andrew box, and I would put money on my girlfriend to outpoint him, and she'd be giving away 10 lbs. She has better fundamentals, better defense, and probably a harder left hook. No knock on Andrew, but she's had a year of real training and he hasn't. I can't think of anybody at my gym with 6 months or more part time training who does have more skill than I saw from Andrew against Dumas. It's not like those early KO's were learning experiences, because he didn't have anybody to point out his flaws. Until he hooked up with you, he was approaching it like a toughman contest. That's why he takes crap here, because he talks trash and at least in the past had nothing to back it up.
I sincerely hope he has gotten himself into proper condition and the remote training pays off. I would love to see a youtube of a new, improved Andrew. I will give the both of you all the credit in the world.

What most people dont realise about the Dumas debacle,is he wasnt checking his weight coming in,so he had to sauna suit himself down to make weight.
Im surprised he could even go a round,we've got him on a hard core cardio,to maintain his weight
If,and this is a big if,because I dont have him in the gym,he does everything I say, you'll see a very different Andrew

I don't think anyone on here aren't rooting for him. No one wants to see him loss that way again. People just get tired of the same buildup and same result. It's irritating.
Should he do what he's told even a loss that goes the distance that shows progress would be a win for him.
There are alot of "buts" though

Not to sound nasty here Bruce but lack of training my ass, if you have a future in boxing you already have the talent and the natural instincts of a fighter. Trainers can help you with fundamentals and etc, but the natural instincts of a fighter aswell as talent is of course natural, and no trainer can teach you that. Especially someone like Andrew Hartley IMO.

I don't think anyone on here aren't rooting for him. No one wants to see him loss that way again. People just get tired of the same buildup and same result. It's irritating.
Should he do what he's told even a loss that goes the distance that shows progress would be a win for him.
There are alot of "buts" though
Only reason I'm rooting for him is because TM has wasted so much time on him. If TM wasn't involved I'd be hoping he got knocked clear out of the ring.
Well, maybe not on this one, as Hillbilly Chimp is a swamp cracker so actually I'd rather see him get KTFO:)

I somewhat disagree on you with the instinct thing. Instincts can be learned as they are also lost. Passion is what makes a good fighter. You train a child at an early age to be a boxer and most probably he will acquire that so called fighter instinct when he grows up. I know you know what I mean ICB. Talents if not developed is as good as having no talent. We might be looking at Andrew as having no talent because his talent was not developed early. We can not surely judge right now if he has talent or not.
I will give my judgment if he is talented or not after TM train him properly.

Re: I know You Enjoy Ripping On Andrew
Sometimes being Andrew's trainer can be hilarious
He was in a bar a few nights ago,guy shoved him 3 times, and he dropped him. No problem plenty of witnesses and on tape
Except
He probably shouldnt have said,"You going to share those donoughts?" to the cop running holding
I cant help but laugh my ass off,my wifes pissed at me for finding it funny, but I cant help it

This is all civilian speak... You'e never been in with real fighters, have you Bruce.
I was 67-3 as an amateur but was never a real fighter. I wanted to be... I trained to be... But at the end of the day I didn't have the goods. I grew up in a boxing family and was nurtured from an early age... I had heart.. I NEVER stayed down even when I should have and was trained by Ronny Cole who has trained some decent fighters. I didn't have the defensive skills I hoped to have... INSTINCTS CAN NOT BE LEARNED!
I amassed to many concussions to continue...
You're talking out your ass a bit ;)
