Telefutura CANCELS Solo Boxeo !!!!

I can not believe this and am feeling rather livid at this news.One night after watching a sensational FOTY candidate between Rogers Mtagwa and Tomas Villa this has just come across the wire.I am pretty SHOCKED and very saddened to hear this.No details really.Just cost expenses mentioned and they look to call it quits in December.....:furious::furious2:.......:angryxo4:: mad:

In a year in which ESPN has canceled it's WNF weekly show,this only makes me fear a permanent absence of consistent Cable TV boxing on the networks!!!!This is horrible news if it prove accurate.

Did you see that the links that you provided for the fight, are no longer good. JustinTV got rid of them. Basturds!!!

This is absolutely terrible, oh man probably the best syndicated boxing series we have and it's canceled. Damn, that's very rough that is not cool at all.

Doesn't have to be a long letter, just let him know how you feel about the station canceling this program. If enough people yell, they have to listen...

It makes no sense, they are saying they've got top ratings but not enough money?

According to the article Downs created the show and wasn't behind it's cancellation and was upset about it I don't think an email will do anything more then drown him in his own sorrows.

make. We were facing declining ratings, declining advertising support,
and escalating costs. That was a very bad mix in a tough overall
economy. Having said that, we fully intend to get back into the sport
of boxing in some fashion at some point in the near future. It will
just have to be on a more fiscally responsible basis.

Well things have not changed unfortunately but I was glad to receive a call back from David Downs ,missed him while at work but left a down to earth message.That # is actually the voice mail of Ric Sicliano who in turn forwarded it over to Mr. Downs.Said they were receiving quite a bit of feedback and can fully understand displeasure.Expressed how thankful they were to their dedicated fans over the last eights years and are working on finding a permanent home for Boxing in the near future and hope to play a huge part.Said He was sorry show was taken off but again expressed that serious actions had to be taken in these serious economic times.

I'm going to miss their consistency and dedication to some truly talented up & comers as well as solid contenders.....This will be a MAJOR void that will be very hard to fill :(
