Re: Manny Pacquiao "I'm feel very confident about fighting Ricky Hatton next"
That'll be a great one, and if he wins (which I think he will) he sets up a Mayweather showdown that could be fight of the decade. Obviously Ricky is going to be a much more "live" opponent than DLH was, he's going to put the pressure on Pac and probably get to his body. I think in the end he's going to tear Rickys face up.

Me too brother I can't see it happening.
Ricky Hatton at 140 pounds is just too deadly and punishing.

Re: Manny Pacquiao "I'm feel very confident about fighting Ricky Hatton next"
This fight is a natural.
Lets be honest PacMan is too small to be fighting the likes of Paul Williams and Margarito but he would be pretty much evenly matched with Hatton.
Hatton vs Pacquaio would be exciting to watch.

Lee this fight is a certainty.
Where does Ricky go now that De La Hoya is gone? Bradley at JW - Not likely as no appeal or money and Ricky has stated he just wants the money fights now.
Floyd is retired so no rematch, De La Hoya got beat so no Wembly fight.
HBO, Hatton, PacMan and me and you know this fight makes sense. PacMan is moving back down while Hatton wants the big fight.

I was saying the fight should end under rounds. I don't think there's any way this one goes the distance. I have no idea who will win though. I'm leaning towards Hatton (about 60/40), but I really feel this is pretty close to a 50/50 proposition.

Re: Manny Pacquiao "I'm feel very confident about fighting Ricky Hatton next"
Going to be a cracking match up, got to go with Ricky in this one, I know he is not going to be the favourite after Mannys last fight, I just think another training camp with floyd and Ricky will be back to his pre Tyzu days and if that happens theirs going to be plenty of upset poeple after the fight.

oops my bad. but this is def a 50/50 fight but if Pac fights the same way hes been fighting then he will win. pac is gettin better and better this will surely be a instant classic fight though no matter who wins.

Re: Manny Pacquiao "I'm feel very confident about fighting Ricky Hatton next"
This is Great Pac just ko'ed dela hoya and now hatton is next ;D Pac will be too fast and slick for hatton. Pac moves too much and puts a beating on his oppenent while doing so. Hatton doesn't have a one punch power that could worry pac and he can't counter. Hatton needs to land a lot to win and thats not going to happy. FAct is before hatton lands enough to beat pac, Pac would have landed enough already to put his lights out. ;D Juan nearly took hattons head off with hooks, image what a pac who just made dela hoya quit a 147 will do ;D This is surely to be made at 140 cause at 147 it would be even easier ;D

I'm not sure Pac has such great power at the higher weight. I don't think ODLH was hurt so much as he was frustrated, confused, and just generally beaten. Hatton is used to walking through punches and the thing everybody seems to not notice is he has great foot speed. I think that really caught PM by surprise. He really closes in fast.
I'm with those that think this is a pick-em fight. I would pick Pac though...
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao "I'm feel very confident about fighting Ricky Hatton next"
I will be leaning more on Hatton, but definitely a pick em fight.
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao "I'm feel very confident about fighting Ricky Hatton next"
I posted my feelings about this fight in another thread prior to the De La Hoya fight:
I think Hatton-Pac is about a 50/50, maybe 60/40 fight (for Hatton). Hatton cuts and swells easily, and even if Pac isn't a murderous puncher at 140, he's still a high volume, accurate puncher with some power. He moves well, and he's far too intelligent to get involved in a wrestling match with Hatton. Also, they're close to the same height, so it's not like Pac is going to have to take a tremendous amount of punishment just to get inside Hatton's range. As Skel mentioned, Hatton has a history of poor performances against southpaws, and he's never fought one as skilled as Pac.

Pac and Hatton have the most devoted followings out there (I think Calzaghe fans are worse, but that's not the point). Regardless of the outcome of the fight, there will be a whole lot of sore losing and excuses being thrown around.

You say Hatton doesn't have one punch power ? Look at the Castillo and Maussa fights.
Forget the Lazcano fight, Hatton is now rejuvenated with Floyd Sr.
Defensively he is sound, good jab, great power and underrated speed.
He rocked Malignaggi on several occasions forcing his corner to pull him out.
NOBODY in the world beats him at 140 pounds, NOBODY.
De La Hoya was old and shot, he never had the hunger to train, he'ld been there and done it.
Hatton hasn't. He wants the P4P #1 so badly. And when he smashes Pac next year, he'll get it.

Is it just me or does he seem to be avoiding calling out Mayweather? If I wanted to be universally recognised as the man I'd be calling out the man!
According to fightnews Mayweather wants the fight and also wants Mayweather snr to train him!

ofcourse you think that :p
nobody beats hatton at 140? :lolhaha: watch when pac gets to that division ;D
Pac gonna demolish hatton. Its sad hatton can't go up to 147, and can't go down thte 135 and now pac going after him at 140 ;D Hatton is done, no place to run. Just earn the big purse with pac and be retired like the other fighters pac put out ;D

You didn't keep track of your picks but you can easily remember who I picked? Do you have a memory (brain)? I think you can easily recall who you picked in the big fights in the last six months if you still have some memory (brain)... ;D

PAC does not usually call out a boxer.... PAC also leave the matchmaking and negotiation of a fight to his promoter... Team PAC indicated that PAC will be on vacation until the New Year...

Re: Manny Pacquiao "I'm feel very confident about fighting Ricky Hatton next"
LET THE WORD WARS Begin.
Pac vs HAtton would be VERY VERY VERY EXCITING!!!
SAddoboxer vs Leftylee would also be explosive!!!!;D;D
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao "I'm feel very confident about fighting Ricky Hatton next"
all i can see about this fight is that I want it to happen as soon as possible. Hatton wouldnt be like a zombie like de la hoya was and Manny would find himself in a really really good fight here. It could go either way and I really do hope that it can happen. The winner should also have a fight with Mayweather and this is a great incentive for both men to fight the best fighter in the world.
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao "I'm feel very confident about fighting Ricky Hatton next"
I got owned saturday night amongst my fellow boxing alumni
Its very hard being english and a de-la hoya fan at the moment as anyone who is a boxing fan of any sort was cheering on pacman saturday night and i spent 3 endless months telling them all how come the 6th of December ODLH would be too strong for pac who would get the living daylights beat out of him.
My respect for pacquiao has gone up no end, i still believe marquez beat him twice and in barrera and morales he beat a couple of shot fighters, but hey credit where credit is due.
But for anyone to claim oscars performance was anything but shocking is ridiculous, the guy threw barely anything, fought pacman in straight lines throughout the entire fight and was a still target to hit.
If you seriously think at this weight class pac has the same joy against the likes of hatton, cotto, margarito etc you are absoloutely crazy.
Hatton to bully pac into submission within 10 brutal rounds!!!!
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao "I'm feel very confident about fighting Ricky Hatton next"
No former top notch but past it billionaires here for Pac,this will be a fight!!Much more offence coming back on him.I think 140 should be tops for Pac,forget all of this Margarito,Cotto,Godzilla talk ;D.

At what weight tho .. because Pac & Hatton will fight a great fight at 140 ... & if they fight Mayweather is that to be at 147 ... because if it is I dont hold any really big hope that either will beat Mayweather at 147..

If Hatton can muster up 1 more performance like the 1 many years ago when he fought Kostya Tszyu he would stop stop Pac Man in the first half of the fight.I still think Hatton will win but it will be a close fight, and hard 1 to call.

Re: Manny Pacquiao "I'm feel very confident about fighting Ricky Hatton next"
If Joe Cortez is the ref Hatton doesn't have a chance. He needs to be able to get inside, and go to work downstairs. Pac's 2 KO losses were due to body blows, and Hatton swells and cuts. I think if it is stopped it will be due to cuts on Hatton or a body blow KO by Hatton. I think this will be a very good fight, and a very tough fight to predict.
