Haye would Steamroll Areolla
Messy street brawler at best is Arreola with a muscle to fat ratio of a pork scratching.
Wide open with it and just steams in like a windmill.
David would toy with this fat dickhead and pick him apart before levelling him out with a Hayemaker!!
What's all the fuss about him?
Just proves how sh*t the heavies have been in recent years if people are seriously thinking that he's anything special;)
He'll get found out in a few months then we'll see the real #1 contender have his chance to prove his worth!!
Arreola............. do me a favour...................Coca Cola would have more chance!

Re: Hayes would Steamroll Areolla
:lolhaha: Haye is fast. But he's careless. He's not hard to hit. And his power at Heavyweight is overrated. It took him what 5 rounds to put Barrett away? Cliff Couser did it in 2. Arreola crushes him in 2 or 3 rounds. The fight would mirror Arreola-Walker. Haye would start fast. Land some punches. Than he'll go sleep.
Arreola power + Haye chin = Haye flat on his back

Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
I don't think Haye gets the credit he deserves defensively, sure he is no Mayweather, but against Barrett he was caught once off balance, but for the most part even when they were trading punches, most of what Monte landed was glancing or hit Haye on the shoulders or missed entirely. I think a fight between Haye and Arreola should be a mismatch in Haye's favor, but it only takes one punch, or him tiring himself out for it to change. Haye had Carl Thompson badly hurt, but he couldn't close the show and was stopped, same with when he fought Solis. It reminded me of Taylor-Pavlik. I think Haye has been learning to relax a little bit, and is pacing himself better.
-
Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
I thought that too Taeth, looked really good against Mormeck, strong in the second half of the fight, sticking to a plan. It kinda went out the window against Barrett, Im hoping it was a touch of overenthusiasm what with it being his first 'proper' fight at heavy rather than a return to old ways.

Me too he is starting to use his natural gifts (i.e. his power and speed) and is mixing them with boxing skills he is learning or has learned in the past but chosen not to use them.

Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
David in only his SECOND fight at Heavyweight demolished Barrett and jumped straight into it with a seasoned pro so of course he was double cautious and his career was over had he have f*cked things up in that fight.
Areolla will be exposed as a man who can't deal with a skilled fighter soon enough and it'd be the same outcome if he fought David.
The occasion got to Haye against Barrett and he put himself under uneccessary pressure which wasn't the case when he was the underdog in Paris against Mormeck and he fought much better.
I think A LOT of our US friends resent him because he's the only thing (barring Vitali) that makes the Heavyweights worth a wank these days and some (not all) will latch on to any old old pile of dog shit and hoodwink themselves into thinking the glory days of past when their fighters dominated the division are still with us.
Sorry but they are long gone;D
Haye has totally gatecrashed the division in one fight and has done so through showing a HUGE pair and something else fighters these days lack....a Personality and everyone is talking about him.
That must really piss some people off..hahaha;D

Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
Cris Arreola isn't a guy who seems to be in great shape but he's a tough fighter and he's got some good power and a good chin. I HEAR he can box but I have never seen him do it.
You're using Haye's win over Monte Barrett to build up your argument and you don't even begin to recognize that Monte has NEVER been a top teir fighter and it's been even longer since he's truly been competitive in this weightclass vs decent opposition. And Haye got knocked down in that fight!!!!
I'm tired of the David Haye hype machine...he's fought 2 lackluster heavyweights and he's already crying for a title shot. I can't wait for Wlad to whip Haye's ass and ruin Haye's career....he won't be the same, trust me

Didn't it take Wlad 7 rounds?

Wlad has been KO'd by 3 lacklustre HW's and your talking as though he's invincible. I know Haye isn't invincible but I think he has the right stuff to expose Wlad and be the 4th man to KO him.
-
Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
No Arreola would steamroll Haye, all he has to do is sit on him and roll;D
Nah but seriously I think Arreola can manhandle him.
-
Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
Haye batters arreola around for a couple of rounds before sending him back to mcdonalds with an overhand right come round 4.
The only possible chance arreola has here is if he manages to land an absoloute monster early up in a round that has haye badly wobble
-
Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
Arreola has faced the superior heavyweight competition. The opponents in his last three fights have had a combined record of 70-2-1 -Arreola knocked them each out in three rounds. Arreola ain't the second coming, but he brings a decent game. Consider that Haye's biggest weakness is his chin and Arreola's biggest strength is his mauling power. To say that a fight between Arreola and Haye would be a mismatch in Haye's favor, at least on paper, is unfair to Arreola. Regardless, this fight has little chance of happening because neither fighter wants to see their heavyweight 0 go unless it's in a big money title-fight with a Klitschko.
To judge Haye effectively, I want to see him in with heavyweight who packs a big punch. His ability to use his skill-set efficiently - box and move away from the bigger punchers - will be indicative of how well he does as a heavyweight.
Conversely, to judge Arreola, I want to see him with a fast heavyweight who can box and move (although he showed glimpses of how he can handle that in the fight with Travis Walker).

Wlad took SEVEN rounds 9 years ago Lyle;D
Haye smashes both.
The end

Chris Arreola is tough he hits hard and he has pretty decent speed, i could see Chris Arreola losing the early rounds. Then he comesback and stops David Haye in the later rounds, David Haye's stamina, chin, are still very suspect but im still rooting for him all the way.
I don't think anyone thinks Chris Arreola is special, i've never seen anyone overrate him on this site. But if he could lose that flab he could be more of a force, but he is what he is a tough brawler with a good chin and decent speed who packs a punch. I could see him beating alot of Heavyweights including David Haye.

Yeah Barrett beat Couser in 2 rounds as well. But guess what? He should of never lost to him in the first place. :rofmaoal: I read all this shiit about Arreola being fat. Like if a body wins titles. If that was the case Louis Monaco and Michael Grant would be ATG's. Both looked like they were cut out of granite. And both didn't do shiit. Yeah Arreola is a fat fukk. But last time I checked it was Haye who had the stamina problems. I never seen Arreola tired.
Seriously it's hilarious how guliable some of you UK posters are. They provide good comedy with there comments. This one right here had me laughing for a good 2 minutes
"Haye has totally gatecrashed the division in one fight"
:lolhaha: He beat a 37 past his prime Monte Barrett. Barrett is a small heavyweight (he's the same size as Haye) and was never that good when he was in his prime. He lost every big fight he was in. And not to long ago was knocked out by career loser Cliff Couser. That's gate crashing? :lolhaha: Comedy indeed.

I missed this memo.
Arreola is exactly what he appears to be. A talented and lazy heavyweight with good power and a hard chin. As soon as he cracks the top ten he will lose that goose egg.
-
Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
I'd pick Haye to knock Areolla's fat ass out. Too fast and skilled for him.

Laugh alone VD....
The facts are that after the Barrett fight Haye is ranked # 6 by the WBA..
# 5 by the WBC.....# 2 by the WBO.
Still think he hasn't gatecrashed the division after ONE fight VD..?
:lolhaha:
And i only use that laughing man when it is absolutely neccessary;)

Put it this way! I'd put a whole years salary on Haye smashing Arreola to pieces. Haye has what it takes to destroy fat slobs like that in an instant. If he's the best you americans have got at HW then I truly feel sorry for you! In fact I'd put someone like Matt Skelton against Arreola.
Face it. He's a joke!
-
Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
I ask anyone to look through Areollas record and not piss themselves at the people he's faced to get to where he is
It's hillarious and a proper who's who of absolute nobodies;D
And let's not forget that David had to go with the Barret fight because everyone else priced themselves out of facing him or simply didn't wanna face him because he's a live opponent.
Barret served his purpose though and now Haye is in position to fight for the title.
-
Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
Haye is a guy who should beat Arreola but if Arreola could take his shots and stay on him it could be a different story.
I don't like Arreola and I do like Haye but its not like its out of the realm of possibility that Haye gets off to a big start, but Arreola hangs around and eventually wears him down.
-
Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
Haye is starting to grow on me a little but even so, i don't even think haye himself inside knows if he can steamroll any of the top heavy's, so i sure as hell don't. I know he like to belive he can, but that is only good pre-fight. In the ring that's another thing. I couldn't say who would win whoever got hit first i guess. Both would be capable of winning this fight.

Explain how Haye has shown you more than Arreola as a heavyweight boxer.
Arreola won the 2001 national golden gloves in the 178 pound class.
His record isn't padded anymore than any other heavyweight. He has had 25 fights. After fighting against journeymen in his first 15 fights, he stepped up his competition. In his last 10 fights, other than Cliff Couser (who he knocked out in 1 round and Derek Berry who he knocked out in 1 round), his opponents have a combined 200 wins and 6 losses. Of those ten, two fighters retired after being knocked out by him. His knockout percentage is 90% and out of 26 fights, he knocked out 23 of his opponents.
Again, he ain't the second coming, but he isn't half-bad. Why the hate? He has an entertaining personality. He is loud. Exciting. He is pretty likeable. I just don't get it.
Speaking of David Haye...
Who has David Haye beat besides Jean Marc Mormeck and Giacobbe Fragomeni? (Mormeck is formidable. No doubt.)And his biggest victory at heavyweight is Monte Barret?
Thus, it is baseless to assert that Haye would steamroll through Arreola. He hasn't fought that quality of boxer, or heavyweight, yet.

I'm not talking up Wlad like he's invincible, he definently has his flaws however NOBODY has the skill to expose them at this time.
Let's go through Wlad's losses....
Ross Purrity, Wlad was young (22) and thought he could KO everyone which he had done to all but 3 guys he had beaten up to that point. Not only was this fight the first in which Wlad had to go more than 8 rounds it was a 12 round fight! Wlad punched himself out, he didn't pace himself and part of what is to blame was his training which focused on lifting weights and cardio and almost no sparring.
Corrie Sanders, #1 Corrie is a southpaw #2 Corrie is a power puncher you don't usually fight that many southpaws and you damn sure don't fight that many power punching southpaws and pair that along with the disappointment with Lennox Lewis choosing to basically force Wlad to have a tune up fight to stay busy and Wlad wanting to make a statement he was reckless and careless and underestimated the danger that was Corrie Sanders who could have shocked ANYONE at that point in his career.
Lamon Brewster, having just changed trainers and trying too hard to impress everyone and not focusing on the task at had Wlad handed out a BEAT DOWN for 4 rounds to Lamon and honestly Wlad took some horrific shots in that fight and stayed on his feet. Wlad wasn't right mentally for the fight and wasn't really right until he fought Sam Peter because that was his "last shot" at that point in time it seemed as if he'd either beat Sam Peter or retire from boxing.
Now David Haye has shown up vs some bums and has beens and he's been floored an awful lot and he has also slept on some guys and done EXACTLY what Wlad did and punched himself out vs an old vet. Do I think Haye can beat Wlad the way Purrity and Brewster did???? HELL NO !!! Haye MAY be able to shock Wlad with a good strong combination but honestly who has landed many combinations on Wladimir recently? And does Haye's power carry up?? Sure he KO'd Barrett and Bonin but those were the expected results AND Barret floored Haye!!!! I am sorry, I just don't see David Haye as any better as Sam Peter was when Wlad fought him and now since Wlad and Manny have built a good thing and Wlad is in a good state mentally that means Haye doesn't have much of a shot especially if he can't make the jab ineffective.
Haye hasn't fought a top 10 heavyweight and already you fanboys have him beating THE MAN of the division....can we say AUDLEY HARRISON?

:lolhaha: Come on now. Haye was trying to get old ass, past his prime Hasim Rahman into the ring. Whoa! Big man. His people lied and low balled JD Chapman. And never even returned Kevin Johnson's calls. Nobody avoided Haye. But Haye said people did. And being the guliable person you are. You belived him.

Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
Haye who i think has no shot v the Klits would hurt Arreola to slow and doesnt move his head he would be a sitting duck, anyway im certain Haye already beat up Areolla in sparring.
-
Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
I honestly do not see Haye steamrolling Shiite at heavy weight.Does not seem to be in his nature as of yet.Mentally, its a no contest.Arreola wants to get in your space and beat your ass until you are spitting your teeth into the bucket.Haye would have to box,Keep Arreola off in a laying back mode ala Chris's first round with Walker. He was hit ugly in that 1st but when it is all said and done, I'll take Arreolas strength, physicality and willingness over Hayes.I think Haye at one point or another would have to step in,stand in,and trade.Dude may be a fleshy heffer, frustrates me as all hell with his Taco bell fetish, but these are legit primed heavyweights now......except Barret of course:-X,entirely different ball game for Haye.

Like you are believing the flip side of the story?
Next he'll be telling us Hatton isn't a "Big Draw" in America and that No One over there gives a f*ck about him:-X
That made me smile...
No-one gives a fuck about Hatton in America.. and yet the powers that be pay him MILLIONS to fight there ;D

F*cks sakes Lyle WATCH THE FOOTAGE....
Anyone with even a 10th of ONE eyeball working can see Davids feet slide from underneath him.
You must have seen a different camera angle from Wladsasstv;D

Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
....he wouldn't have "slipped" if Monte didn't bounce a punch off his head. I never said Haye was hurt but you fight in an off balance manner and that type of thing is bound to happen and a guy like Wlad is going to just hammer the crap out of Haye if he continues to fight that way.

Turn it in for f*cks sakes.
Cliff Couser.......... hahahahahahahaha;D
His rating as unified CW champ put him in those positions. FYI - Arreola is ranked by the soup as follows: WBC #2 (Haye 4) IBF #2 and WBO 3 (Haye 2). According to the rankings, they are pretty much equal. Actually, if you average it out, Arreola is ranked higher.
Yeah, Haye gatecrashed the division - it's called Cruiserweight, and that put him on the HW map without him doing much. I would expect Arreola to handle Monte Barrett in a similar fashion, just without getting himself knocked down in the process.

He's been knockdown by a SUPERMIDDLE too - Lolenga Mock.
You can add him to the next 100 threads this week when you mention Haye's suspect chin ;)

Re: Haye would Steamroll Areolla
beating arreola in sparring and beating him in a fight is a whole world of difference.
No offence to cristobel but i could probably run rings shadow boxing him
yet put him in the ring and let his fists do the talking and its a whole different story.
for what its worth i believe haye would batter him still!!!

The fat slob Peter floored Wlad about 4 times didn't he? This thread is making me sound like I hate Wlad but that couldn't be further from the truth. I just think Lyle's love for him is making making him overrate him!
