BREAKING NEWS: PACQUIAO ACCEPTS EXISTING OFFER TO FIGHT HATTON
Bacolod City -- After a long night and as the sun glimmers in the Philippines' eastern sky Friday, Pacquiao has finally gave the nod to his team to accept the existing offer from the Hatton camp to maybe finally seal the May 2 Pacquiao-Hatton superfight at MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Pacquiao and his team are currently in Manila.
Pacquiao friend and confidant Rex 'Wakee' Salud informed PhilBoxing about the good news. The final financial deal is a 12 million dollar guarantee for Pacquiao and 52-48 PPV share in Pacquiao's favor.
The negotiation has been derailed after Pacquiao demanded a 60-40 PPV sharing in his favor from a 50-50 sharing being stipulated in the original contract. The Hatton camp countered with a 52-48 sharing in Pacquiao's favor and gave Pacquiao a Wednesday deadline to sign the contract. The fight has been called off as of yesterday when Pacquiao refused to budge as both parties issued statements blaming each other for the failed negotiation.
Over 3 bottles of beer Pacquiao, whose playful antics would create joy and difficulty in his inner circle and this time reverberated into the boxing world by playing hard to get in the negotiation table, told Salud, who does not drink, that he would accept the contract only if Salud will down three bottles of beer. Salud, who had been trying to convince Pacquiao for days to sign the contract, was forced to drink this time around in order for the deal to be consummated.
Salud also informed that Arum was elated to hear the news that Pacquiao finally accepts the deal and that Arum may even come to the Philippines to do the press conference.
The Pacquiao-Hatton superfight on May 2 in Las Vegas is the year's most anticipated fight and is expected to sell out gate and short circuit tickets and break PPV records.
Bwa ja ja ja :lolhaha: Now you hate PAC more... :lolhaha:

LMAO about the beer! He definately has his own way of handling business. Well, im happy it looks like it will happen. Ricky probaly could have done without the drama, but at least Pac came to his senses..Lets just hope he doesnt get wasted from 3 just beers or he may have not meant what he said.
Good
Got us all talking didnt it. The bastard
Another source, thanks for posting.
Finally i get to see one of them lose.
You can't make this stuff up. :o Hatton should have been smarter and held the negotiations in a pub, he buying the drinks of course. 8)

thanks for the news miron_lang. this is the best fight to be made for both fighters and i'm glad that it's finally happening.
Why would anyone hate Pac?
He backed off his initial 60-40.
AND agreed to fight.
SaddoBoxer beat me to it :(

Sorry for the double thread.
Pacquiao-Mayweather would be way bigger, way more important, and a better fight. Pacquiao and Hatton's styles don't mesh well at all.
Seems like it is already sign, Pacquiao agreed on the terms and fax in the sign documents to top rank. We should hear word from them later on today in the morning...
" Pound-for-pound kingpin Manny Pacquiao phoned promoter Bob Arum early Thursday evening in Los Angeles and informed the Top Rank chairman that he had signed his contract to fight Ricky Hatton on May 2 in Las Vegas, reviving a megafight that seemingly had died a day earlier.
Pacquiao, who defeated Oscar De La Hoya on Dec. 6 in one of his most impressive and dominant performances, had been balking at signing to fight Hatton because he was not pleased with the 50-50 split.
Arum had been been frustrated with Pacquiao and hadn’t spoken to him in more than two weeks. Pacquiao also had not been taking calls from his trainer and close friend, Freddie Roach.
But Pacquiao reversed course on Thursday and agreed to the deal. Arum said he had to do something for Pacquiao contract-wise, but said “it is nothing that will hurt me.”
He said Pacquiao told him he faxed the signed contract to Top Rank’s office in Las Vegas and emailed a copy to the company’s attorney. Arum is in Los Angeles co-promoting a Saturday fight at the Staples Center between Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley.
“When we get in and open the office on [Friday] morning, hopefully the contract is on the fax machine and we have a fight,” Arum said. "

Pacquiao-Hatton megafight is back on - Boxing - Yahoo! Sports
Team hatton havent seen or heard about the contract and hattons lawyer said there isnt even a contract for 52/48 split altho it was offered there was never a contract written out.
There is so many rumours on net there everywhere,i just keep checking hattons site for confirmation either way.
Good to hear Manny may have given in, maybe he come on here and saw everyone calling him a pussy..
The BBC website are also saying the fight is back on (well, maybe) and they only follow sources from the fighters thereself.
'
Pacquiao was said to be seeking a 60-40 split, but a spokesman for the Filipino's promoter Bob Arum told BBC Sport he may sign a contract next week.
If it goes ahead, the fight is likely to take place in Las Vegas on 2 May.
"On Tuesday Bob will meet Manny and he hopes to sign him to an agreement," Top Rank's Bill Caplan told BBC Sport.
"If that goes well they will have press conferences in Manila and Cebu City on Wednesday.
"Bob is very optimistic, that's why after a fight week in Los Angeles [Antonio Margarito fights Shane Mosley on Saturday], at the age of 77, he's hopping on a plane to the Philippines."

So Pacquiao is not a complete idiot.
I told you. Pac was simply doing some psy war. I know the fight will proceed else pac is really stupid.
this has got that inevitable lewis-tyson on-off, off-on feel about it.
Until the contracts are signed i really cant be asked to comment on this!
Is it really back on then:-\,i knew this was all mind games!
"Manny had a problem with one thing in the deal but we worked it out," Arum said. "I massaged something in the deal, which I'm not going to tell you about, but it didn't cost me anything. We got it done."
What the hell is that?
I will refrain from LOLing at every one calling Manny a pussy until the contract is officially signed. But I'm already in preparations for it, like Oscar I'm in the best shape of my life.
Signed dude! Arum called the LA Times.
Manny Pacquiao's signed contract now in Bob Arum's hands | The Fabulous Forum | Los Angeles Times
end of the day manny knows it would be stupid to turn down such a big money fight. i thought the whole not signing the contract thing might of been a bit of hyping the fight up in a weird kind of way .glad it is all back on tho . COME ON
I don't blame Pacman one bit for squeezing as much as he can from this fight, stop and think of where Pac comes from, the Philippines is not a prosperous place to live and grow up, most people there live on approx $200 a month!!!!
So when somebody like Pacman wants a bigger slice of the pie he has earned every right to get, do not be so quick to criticize.
The fight will happen and it should be a great fight, Hatton will do very well out of it too and he should be thanking Pacman for getting it.
first things first we no pac man is a badman,e.g barrera morrales,de la hoya. and so on.on the other hand we have hitman hatton,e.g castillo, tyszu, mayweather nearly.i personally think hatton will be mannys biggest test since comin out of the super feather division. fukk diaz, fukk weight drained de la hoya.im glad this fight is now on. im mannys biggest fan but vs hatton i gotta go with my country man hatton .on a neutral base tho i got say this fight has got 2 be nothingshort of an all time classic. both all action fighters, come forward style with manny havin the better boxing skill but hatton is an absolute bully at 140. how will manny cope with a legit 140er. im really 50/50 on this fight. this thread is basically about ur personal break down on the fight, and how u think shiit will go down. no moono included.
Know Weigh Hoe Say. I'm confident Roach will come up with another brilliant game plan on how to avoid being bullied, just like how Manny avoided Oscar's left hooks (MIA, BTW). I think Manny is too fast for Ricky. I'd say Manny by TKO inside 9.
I tend to believe what Arum said about Pac loving to gamble, is probably the real explanation. Pac tried his to bluff his way to the bigger split. Fortunately, he didn't ruin his chances of signing the fight!
Radio 5 Live are now also reporting that the fight is sealed and delivered for May 2. Hate to say it, but the big boy Bunce in his boxing hour this week got it on the head, but it's been a big belief pretty much all round that they were playing hardball about a few thousand when it's multi-million pound deal for everyone involved.
Too much money for it not to be made!
I agree with almost everything you said but I would slightly favor Pacquiao, I know everything’s possible in this fight but I also think we will see 12 full rounds.
I understand your feelings and I know it’s your duty to support your country man; I would have the same dilemma if Bute, Diaconu or Pascal would ever face Bad Chad, one of my top favorites.
I’ll go with Pacman in this one (no hard feelings) not because I don’t like Hatton, I just like Pacquiao more.
Oop! not quite a done deal....apparently it still needs a signature 01-23-09:5:45pm
The Associated Press: Pacquiao-Hatton back on for May 2 in Vegas
"I received a copy of the contract signed by Manny Pacquiao. I sent it to England for a signature by Ricky Hatton, but haven't yet received the signed contract," Shaefer said. "I believe it's going to happen, but it's not finalized. We're working on the paperwork. How can a deal be finalized if only one fighter has signed?"
Im soo glad to see this fight finally being signed.;D
