Some of You Guys take away from the sport...
...people like Danny G who constantly kick a fighter when they're down, just cause of one loss even though against top competition, they discredit the fighters whole career, but when they win, "OH WHAT A WIN" and they suck on the dude's balls like if it were a beer tap. Prime examples of late, have be Margarito, De La Hoya, Casamayor, etc. You guys fuck it up and honestly you're the ones fucking up the sport

People are only dissing on Antonio Margarito because of the hand wrap controversy. Which seems to be true because one of the commisions there said it was, we have to wait for 100 percent proof.
But it looks likely so i think its perfectly understandable for people to be upset, i know i am considering i rooted for Antonio Margarito in the past. And have been following him for years, i consider that too be one of the worst acts you can do in boxing.
Because not only are you showing you will do anything to win, its also showing you don't care if you seriously hurt or destroy a fighters career. Just to get to the top, i will never ever look at Antonio Margarito in the same light again if its true.
As for ODLH well come on i don't think anyone question's his legacy, but in the last few years he's been bad for boxing and he's been picking on smaller fighters. It was nice to see his plan go down the toilet and get a bit of beating, so he can retire and stop destroying his legacy, when he actually cared about boxing and not just the money.
I didn't see anyone kick Joel Casamayor when he was down, some people actually made excuses for him saying he was way past his best. And that he fought a great fight and was even with Juan Manuel Marquez all the way, i never see any bad comments degrading Joel Casamayor what so ever.
Just because a few people are going over the top, doesn't mean anything you always get that and its expected. No offense i know what your getting at, but i think your going a bit over the top yourself with this thread.
Nothing that bad has happened and if the hand wrap issue is found true its a black eye for boxing and ruins Antonio Margarito totally, and if it's not found true then it just makes some people look stupid and its good for boxing. I think he for certain had his wraps tampered with, but im going to wait for 100 percent proof before i go any further on the matter.

Casamayor and Oscar had amazing talent and skill, they were also tough, nobody has been hating on Casamayor, he doesn't deserve that. People are jealous of Oscar's talent, popularity, and fame/wealth so thats why they hate on him. Margarito people are hating on him because he is a fraud, he never belonged at the top of the division there is a reason he has 5 other loses.

Just focusing on the money point, I suppose you might be right, but I really kinda think you have it backwards. I mean, he's so filthy rich now, he hardly needs the dough, he just fights because he loves to fight, whereas before when he was actually fighting the good fight, the money probably mattered a lot more.

I disagree of course he was fighting for money in his early career, like every fighter does but he was also fighting for legacy/respect he wanted the Mexican fans. To love him like they did JCC, he cared what the fans thought about him.
The names on his record are incredible when he actually cared about boxing, now he just doesn't care and he doesn't love the sport like he used to.
He only fights for money now nothing else not legacy, not for the love of the sport nothing. Just look at the Manny Pacquiao fight for example, he had no fire in his belly what so ever. And theres no way a hungry/prime ODLH would of ever quit on his stool.

Re: You fucker's take away from the sport...
i know what you mean, but im just sick of the same thing, they do it to every fighter that has a great win, and then loses in the next fight, for example Morales after he beat Pacquiao, Hatton before Floyd, Oscar after Mayorga, and hell i feel sorry for Pacquiao cause god knows it's gonna happen to him when he loses. i mean just give credit to the winner for christ sake and let it go by that fight alone, their past accomplishments have nothing to do with it, as for the hand wraps i think it's bullshit, i mean they said the same damn thing for Trinidad and we all know that's just plain bullshit, it's not like Margarito ever had this killer punching power anyhow, and as for who-ever said that Cotto having a broken nose by the end of the 2nd is already an indication, well people better start checking Barrera's gloves, he broke Morales' nose by like the 3 or 4 rnd in their last fight

Dude, you need to think about what your saying. Everyone on this board is responsible for keeping boxing alive. It's diehard emotional boxing fans like us that keep this shit going. So I think you should watch who you're saying is "fucking up the sport" and chill out.

Re: You fucker's take away from the sport...
Morales, Margarito deserves it, he was way overhyped, and needed to be brought back down to earth.

Size or not, fighting Mayweather, Pacquiao, and Hopkins is hardly taking the easy road, Forbes and Mayorga were just tune ups, and way better tune ups than most people take.

Re: You fucker's take away from the sport...
he doesn't deserve to have his accomplishments discredited before having the whole issue of the hand wraps proven 100%, and honestly with all the losses on his record and all he deserves the recognition a lot more than the "winner" of last week's fight, Berto

What kind of azz backwards 'god-think' is that ??? They needed to be brought down to earth?Margarito was far from being overhyped compared to some of the stuff in the mainstream. The man earned whatever praise he got,no silver spoons,no darling multi million dollar guarentees. Some of these spoiled unproven up & comers today act as if they are owed something and treated by the networks like them acheiving greatness is a foegone conclussion. Now that hype is blinding. The man got KTFO,no need to stand on his fukking neck.

What do you mean suprise/suprise when have you ever seen me degrade ODLH ? im actually the one that normally defends him but i can't see how you can disagree with my comments.
It's pretty obvious he doesn't love the sport anymore especially when he quit on his stool, and he doesn't care about his legacy anymore. And he doesn't have any fire in his belly anymore, he's been picking on smaller fighters and thats why people have disliked him in the last few years. And thats why people were happy he lost, because he chose the wrong little fighter to pick on.
I don't really know why your bringing up the health aspect, i don't see what thats got to do with ODLH not loving the sport anymore and not caring about his legacy lately and ETC.
I respect him as a fighter for what he done for the sport on his past achievements. I certainly haven't respected him as a fighter in the last few years, and many fans will agree with me.

Surprise surprise is sarcasm. And you sure are degrading DLH now.
OK mon, if you say so. DLH doesn't love the sport , and cares nothing for his legacy. Whatever you say. HInt: that is sarcasm too.
I'd say the health aspect just might have something to do with the joint decision, not to go back into the ring against PAC, and not evidence of his lack of love for the sport, but I suppose you will argue against that too.

I dont remember anybody giving Casamayor any crap for losing to JMM. But Oscar deserved it for picking on the smaller fighter (Pacman). But people here are giving Margarito crap because he was using some kinda plaster that hardens like the shit they use to make casts which is fukkin cheating.

Frankly I'm a little surprised at your point of view on this. I figured you as a guy who is so much in tune with the sport would give a guy like DLH a little more credit. Where I come from, to say a guy like DLH doesn't care for the sport or his legacy, or he only cares about the money, is somewhat degrading, not to mention illogical. But I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that.
-
Re: You fucker's take away from the sport...
I agree that one loss does not make a fighter overrated or a fraud. Margarito has beaten Cotto and Cintron because hes a good fighter, not because the guys he beat underperformed or had a off night. Oscar has been boxing his whole life from being an amateur champion to a World Champion on many different occasions against the best in he world. Now that hes on his way down and lost a fight, people say 'well he was just never that good.' It is unfair, and those naysayers are usually people who always suport the fighter of the hour, but when he starts to fade their on to the next superstar of the moment.

Re: You Guys take away from the sport...
antonio margarito deserves the benefit of the doubt.
Celebrating a victory is the right thing to do, a legend like shane deserves all the credit he earn. Celebrating a warriors defeat is a sour thing to do, especially jumping into conclusion that his a fruad, cheater, etc.

Re: You Guys take away from the sport...
Props to Margarito regardless, he did not duck anyone and is a bullstrong warrior. He may not have an unblemished record but he is a PROVEN fighter and to reiterate NEVER DUCKED anyone. I apologize if I sound like I'm gloating of Shane's victory or still hurtin from Cotto's brutal loss:embarassed:
But I still can't accept the fact that he is a welterweight because in my eyes he is freakin big for that weightclass and should at least attempt to fight at 154 or 160 like Paul Williams.

Re: You Guys take away from the sport...
People are down on Margarito because he did get caught cheating in the worse way you can in boxing. Common sense tells you that he isn't new to this and just got caught on his very first attempt to cheat in this way. That being said, you have look at how long had he done this before he finally got caught? His immediate previous fight was Cotto and this was his most glorifying fight. Of course, with a cheating mentality he would've done this then. Does anyone really believe Margarito hasn't done this in previous fights? I dare that person to stand up and seriously say this. This is why people are saying Margarito was a fraud. He cheater and the fight he gets caught he gets knocked out...badly! I used to be a Margarito fan but he needs suspended because you can ruin a fighter's chances and/or career cheating this way. I boxed for 17 years and I am in disgust at how lightly it is being taken.

Re: You Guys take away from the sport...
Well one thing beglit what does getting knocked out have to do with his hands and lets not forget it is not 100 percent on what was used and what was going on we while find out when the are done investigating it and also lets not jugde him tell they come to us tell us about it.

Re: You Guys take away from the sport...
My only wish would be that the U.S justice system was as brisk and conclusive as many fans are within the span of 24 hours.Judge Judy would be very proud and could take some pointers.Essentially based on info relayed to Commentators with vested interests and three payed members of the opposing camp.A lawyer,Doctor, and trainer. As far as I know up to now....there have been no official statements and/or findings by the Commission and head officials.I'll jump when the real investigation has concluded.....not a knee jerk rash pile on that was kicked off literally at the opening bell last night.Also....Shane did not win this because of Tonys "might be,possibly,& what if " hand wraps not implemented....he won because he was bigger, better and stronger, period!Very much a shame to dismiss and cast aside a mans, fighter or no fighter, career accomplishments and character in its entirity based on allegations and at this point, inconclusive findings.
A man and those he chooses to surround himself with are responsible for thier actions. Not only inside of the ring but much more outside of it.But just take a breath already.

What kind of azz backwards 'god-think' is that ??? They
needed to be brought down to earth?Margarito was far from being overhyped compared to some of the stuff in the mainstream.
I agree, Tony always came to fight gave us what we want to see. Although limited movement and skill he made up for it with grit and chin, give him a break for second, see what happens.

It is unfair, and those naysayers are usually people who always suport the fighter of the hour, but when he starts to fade their on to the next superstar of the moment.
I agree with every word of this. Anyone who says ODH was "never that good" or anything to that effect does not know jack shit about boxing. The same goes for Margarito, though obviously he's not on ODH's level (not that many are, there is no shame in that).

Re: You Guys take away from the sport...
Well at least the true Margarito fans are being seperated from the bandwagon jumpers. Margarito should bounce back , take a little lesson from the loss, learn how to use his height and reach and not depend on being stronger physically. He just need to sharpen his skills because it's not pretty boxing. One thing he has horrible balance and is flat footed, he can improve alot of things IMO.

Re: Some of You Guys take away from the sport...
I think people will jump on fighters now right after a loss so quick is because with the internet they can. It isn't like the old days when Cooney lost to Holmes and it took a few months before the letters started pouring into the Ring magazine as to why they thought he lost, just as an example. It took a while to realize that he didn't really have the balls to be a fighter. It took him two years to get back in the ring and then after two fights he disappeared again for a few only to get squashed by Mike Spinks, a blown up light heavyweight, and Foreman, a 40 something. I think people had to think more before they put their thoughts on paper, not like just jumping onto the internet immediately.
Just my thoughts.

Prime examples of late, have be Margarito, De La Hoya, Casamayor, etc. You guys fuck it up and honestly you're the ones fucking up the sport
You silly biatch, I don't have a direct hand in this sport so what the phuk are you talking about?
Why not talk about the sorry arse blind judges, corrupt refs and the cheaters who load their gloves or fighters who try to go after midgets, instead of going after me.
Great point!
