Judges have official scorecards with emblems and titles and names.
The scorecards are filled out as the fight goes on at the end of the fight the cards are turned in to the commision and the cards are added.
So to answer your question no, judges do not turn in scoring on a round by round basis. I believe as long as he has the card with him he can change the scoring of any round on the card.
I know theirs been cases where a judge said he scored a round wrong and the score was amended.
Theirs been cases where the commision has even added wrong and they've announced the wrong winner. :bucktooth:
I've seen plenty of judges scorecards but I don't think I've ever seen one with crossouts on it or anything like that.

I can't see why they haven't come up with marriage of systems between amateur and pro, learning more about how bad it often is. The amateur system is fairly good, but has probs with the amount of button hitting and having it score correctly. But basing the comp. system more towards the pro type scoring I could see the puters working decent with a little thought. It might not even hurt to have some sort of independant jury score the scorers in some way. And if some judge is wayyy off the mark...say like in the 5th round and he's obv biased...one of the members can go paddle him in the back of the head. lol Well, maybe that is a stretch...but I do think it needs a serious look and could use some help.

I think you're mistaken here, Mick. That doesn't make sense and would lead to constant accusations of corruption. How could a judge justify changing the score after a round has past? He has to concentrate on scoring the immediate round and the ones that follow.Quote:

There's still a problem area though, the tabulation done by the consolidator... I guess we had this problem in the Barrera-Juarez first fight... Wrong math... ;)

individual scorecards get collected at the end of each round and handed to the ref who in turn gives it to an official who if needed at the end of a contest will tally up the scores.
If this is true, as most everyone has said (and of course this is better than having the judges keep their scorecards till the end of the fight)....... then WHY does it sometimes takes so long to get the decision? Does it really take up to 5 minutes to add 10 points to one fighter's score and 9 or 8 to the other?Quote:

But I've also seen what I stated done in events that I've been to.
Where judges don't turn in scores at the end of the round but turn in the entire scorecard at the end. Guess I could have been more clear on my part.

Every state has their own rules. It varies.
But, I think scoring a fight and judging a fight are what people get confused. There's no official way to score. So people JUDGE what they think is better when awarding the 10-9 score. Since everyone's judgement is different you have the variety in scoring.
It's a beauty contest and you can't really change that. It's not just homecooking or robberies all the time. The judges will score it based upon what they like.:-\

In Harada vs. Famechon I, the ref. Pep changed his original scorecard at the end of the fight awarding Fammo a narrow win over Harada.
You should see what they did to Armando Muniz vs. Jose Napoles in Mexico. Well actually I should say what Jose Sulaiman (WBC) did to Muniz.
They robbed him of a win over Napoles it was robbery in broad daylight.
Napoles unable to continue on cuts and IMO losing the fight on points the ref. along with Jose Sulaiman talk then Jose walks around and gathers up with the judges keep in mind Jose is from the org. not the commision after several minutes it is decided that they will go to the cards BUT if Napoles was unable to continue from cuts cause by a punch then it should be a TKO win for Muniz. Instead it was said that the punches were cause by head butts thus sending the fight to the judges.
The judges scored the fight for Napoles awarding him a Tech. Dec. :confused:
But you gotta see how Sulaiman man huddles up with the judges you can almost hear him say here's how the fights gonna go...
Which pisses me off more than just about anything else in the world of sports. How this guy can remain on top of a major boxing organization is beyond me. That, and his claiming Margarito's innocence before the process has been given a chance to work itself through. I think I dislike Sulaiman a bit more than I do Don King.Quote:
