Floyd Mayweather Sr: What an asshole!

Just rewatched the fight now for the 4th time on Youtube.

I have to say Mayweather Sr acted like a complete twat and really in an unprofessional manor. I even got the feeling he was embarassed to be Ricky's trainer when Hatton was nearly unconscious on the mat.

When Hatton goes down Lee Beard is the one who helps him up, when Hatton leaves the ring Lee Beard is the one who helps him out. When Hatton walks back the dressing room, Lee Beard is the one that is next to him giving him support. At the post-fight press conference Lee Beard is speaking on behalf of Hatton. Mayweather Sr never even bothered turning up to the post fight press conference. Credit to Lee, big credit.

Mayweather Sr was just nowhere to be seen. I dont know whether he was embarassed himself after all the shitt he came out with before hand about Roach and Pac and his stupid poems. But not even consulting Ricky after the fight and being plain rude walking away is just disgraceful IMO. Hatton has just been brutally knocked out in front of his family and thousands of fans and Mayweather doesn't even give him the time of day. What an absoloute cock sucker. Mayweather Sr. can go fukk himself for all I'm concerned. And then he comes out first thing saying how Hatton should retire after getting beat by someobody a step down to Floyd Jr, nothing positive whatsoever. Really pissed me off his actions last night.

Keep in mind that he suggested that Ricky "aww shit, i just got hit man" Hatton should retire from boxing. That should show you how he feels about the situation.

On the British telecast I watched they reported that Ricky had basically said he was firing Mayweather after the fight. Doesn't excuse him from being an ass but makes it understandable.

Dude, there is being pissed off, and then there was his performance. This is the highest level of professional boxing. You put your personal shit aside until it is over. Not act like a total prick to your own fighter before, during, and after. That won't soon be forgotten by many.

I think Floyd is a total @ss and never really had any chemistry with Hatton he just wanted to get his 15 minutes and he talked himself into it. Hatton chose to hire him so I dont feel bad for him about that. I do think that Oscar is the only fighter that Floyd really did care for. Maybe even more than his son and definately more than Ricky. Showing up late for the fight, not being there for Ricky after the fight, reguardless of his performance is unacceptable. He was supposed to be his fighter. Part of Team Hatton. I think Floyd is only out for himself though.

Maybe its Mayweather Sr. is the one that should retire. If I was a fighter I wouldnt want him as my trainer thats for sure.

On another note I thought Pac man was all class in victory as usual.

I've never liked Floyd Sr and I like him even less after all the 24/7 and press conferences. He's a fucking arrogant prick and is much more unbearable than his son. At least with Floyd Jr. you can see some semblance of a human being behind the huge ego. Floyd Sr. is just a confused, negative, bitter old man. You are not the best trainer in the world. You're not even in the top 5.

With that being said, Ricky Hatton got knocked out all on his own. He didn't do ANY of the things that he said him and Floyd Sr worked on. He rushed Pacquiao with his head up and hands low. He hardly used any head movement. He didn't use the jab at all. He got hit with some good shots then he got mad and unfocused and got caught. I'm glad Hatton got KTFO because the way he fought that fight was basically in total disrespect to Pacquiao's power. Total disrespect. Before his fights with Floyd and Manny, he's said that neither of those guys hit as hard as Kosta Tszyu. It's like he keeps trying to use that one win to make himself relevant as an elite fighter. Sorry Ricky, you're not an elite fighter, you're a good fighter and good champion but elite? Not any more.

It's hard to fake compassion for some you dislike. Mayweather was his trainer. Not his wife. He was paid to train him. He wasn't around him just cuz he liked him. I think Mayweather was just fukking mad that he pretty much wasted his time trying to train Hatton. Cuz Hatton did nothing right.

Let's put a better perspective on this. It was Mayweather's 50 seconds of "put your hands up and jab". He didn't have much time to give advice. And there were no Rounds.

Ricky had his hands by his chest the whole fight. What was he thinking???

Ricky did fight with his hands around his open chest the whole time. I don't know why. He was inviting fast combinations that he really could not pick off.

I give Roach more credit than Pacman, actually. Pacquiao was so crude and raw of a fighter when he started. You have to remember that Roach has been adding muscle to his physique, showing him how to carry power through weight divisions, and, most importantly, developed Pac as a complete fighter... a two handed fighter. Pac has a plan A,B, C... It's very clear that when Pac is doing his thing in the ring, he is following a game plan and Roach is the chessmaster.

Just my opinion. And I picked Hatton to win. not ashamed.

I really don't know why Hatton ever hired Floyd Sr. to begin with. Exactly what has he ever done to prove he is an elite trainer? The fact that his own son fired him should speak for itself. It would be like someone wanting to go out and hire Jack Mosley.

I actually give Roach alot of credit for Pac's success. He's developed him into a complete fighter, and he usually comes up with a pretty good gameplan for Pac to follow.

he's done more than just that, all of Oscar's success at 154 has to do with Mayweather Sr., including his sensational win over Vargas, also don't forget that he also trains Guzman, and he made Mayweather Jr what he is, that beautiful defense he has is thanks to his father, aside from Hatton, the 3 other big names that Sr has trained all were defensively sound, the least was Oscar and even his defense improved after going with Mayweather Sr, what the man did directly after what happened to Hatton is wrong, but you can't go ahead and blame him for the loss or say he's a shit trainer, he knows his shit, only thing is Hatton's form of fighting IMO doesn't really mesh well with Mayweather Sr's form of fighting, i felt the same way when Taylor went with Steward, and B-Hop went with Roach, can't blame a bad performance soley on a trainer, and honestly Hatton has NO ONE else to blame but himself after his loss against Pacquiao, he fought a VERY stupid fight
