Has Hatton done an interview yet ? One expected ?
Been reading reports and trawling through youtube, BBC etc.. but he doesn't seem to have done one yet.
Anyone know if one's due - press conference etc.. ?

Damn that was tough to watch for some reason. I feel so bad for him; as he is a fighter and a humble, down to earth dude. One of my top 3 fae fighters over thelast 5 years and I gotta say I'll miss him and the atmosphere he brings t a fight. But he got stuck in a certain way of fighting and in the end it caught up with him. A good fucking guy thoug so best wishes to him.

2 things he said really stood out to me....
the better man won did win, theres alot of "ifs and buts"... "maybe" it could have been different ???

no one has had a fanbase like Ricky hatton.... 30,000 for this 35,000 for the mayweather fight.
he aint gonna retire it seems to me like its all about the cash now and if people are willing to pay hes gonna carry on milking it.

I think you might be being a bit harsh Saddo. He's just come off a brutal KO and is not totally 100% straight talking or thinking. I don't see himout for just money, he loves boxing and is very proud of his achievements and fanbase as anyone would be.

prob mate its just the denial of the KO... re watch it and listen to what he really says.... its like yeah i was KO'd but not outboxed or outclassed.
if i wasnt KO'd things could have been different to many ifs and buts.
when he was outclassed and outboxed he blamed the ref, billy being old and all the other crap.
maybe i am hearing it wrong... but its just how its coming off to me.... he was beaten knocked out early FFS there is no if's or buts about it IMO

He lost to two of the best in recent years, no shame in that. I actually think he has took this loss well, much better than the Floyd loss I would say.
I think your being a bit harsh Saddo, but not much, refering to himself as the third person is quite irritating to me too, I also think he may not be finished just yet and like you said he may milk it a bit in the future.
A winnable fight at Wembley, give an inferrior fighter a nice payday, give yourself and your fans a win and a great night and hang them up Ricky!

I see where your coming from. He was trying to say had the fight gone on it would/could have been a different story but it didn't and he WAS KO'd early. there are no if's and buts to that story!
I actually thought when he mentioned about being outclassed that he'd rather lose the way he did against Pac than the way he did against Mayweather though.

That's the name of the game though. I know it sucks to be beaten up, I've been beaten up (though never by a Filipino midget in front of an audience of tens of millions of people), and I know boxing is different than a regular fight/altercation. However, Hatton himself has brutally knocked out fighters, many of whom had accomplished only a fraction (if that) of what he has; fighters who had accumulated substantially less monetary (among other) rewards to show for their efforts. As long as he has his health, I can't feel too sorry for the guy. He lived his dream in front of millions of people, became a national icon, made tens of millions of dollars, has a (apparently) lovely family and soon-to-be wife etc. The only thing damaged with Hatton is his pride. Well, that's really not that big of a deal in my eyes.

I sense a bit of denial there too.
At the end of the day Hatton was knocked down 3 times in 2 rounds and the third one put him out for the count. Pac dominated the rounds and Hatton failed to even stun Pac while taking all of that. The Mayweather loss did at least have the air of a competitive fight for half dozen rounds, but this was a whitewash. Maybe his head is still mangled and the thoughts are spinning round his head, but I sense that he wants to continue. And judging by the comments of Lee Beard I sense the same thing too.
I think Hatton has the tools to beat most fighters if he does carry on, but after a loss like that I do worry about his ability to take a punch.

I worry too about Hatton's ability to take a punch now. After all those wars he has had in the past it seems as though his chin has becomed weakened now. Pacquiao seems to be a very strong puncher, but Hatton has fought fighters that are stronger than Pacquiao. I really hope Hatton does bounce back for one last fight. Like I said in another thread. I have watched all of his fights live since 2003 and have most of them on disc and hell I still haven't even recovered seeing Hatton knocked out like that. I hope he has a little more gas left and gets a couple of more wins and goes out on top.

I agree with everything you wrote friend (except for the midget part). I guess you're probably above 6'5 to consider MP a midget hehehe.
