Television for Tye Fields return to the ring?
Now that the first fight in Tye Fields quest for the heavyweight title has been announced, I'm trying to find out what the television plan is for it? Anyone know if this will be on ESPN, HBO, or Showtime? Or will it be a PPV? I'm sure we'll end up paying big money for fights of his in the next few years...but I'm hoping to get this fight without lightening the wallet too much. Anyone know the plan?

Re: Television for Tye Fields return to the ring?
I thought after he got his dufus ass beat in his last fight the plan was for him to go back to Montana and fall under a combine in the wheat fields.
I wouldn't pay for that Baby Huey's fight if he was the last "boxer" on the planet. The guy is a big dummy.

Troll says what? You said Tye Fields and PPV....lol good one.

Re: Television for Tye Fields return to the ring?
Hey....if I have to, I'll pay $50-60 to see this fight (and I know many others who would as well). I just don't want to if I don't have to do so.
As for his last fight, its clear that Monte Barrett had plaster in his gloves. Nobody delivers a knockout punch like that to Tye without assistance.
Its a shame that others obviously go to the Margarito School of Boxing....but at least trainers are aware to look for it now and another incident of this nature will never happen again.

Guys, you're hurting Tye's feelings...

I knew there was a reason I don't post here much....its douchebags like those that have responded thus far. All I asked was one serious question and instead of answering nicely or politely ignoring it (because you don't have an answer), all the Tye haters have to come out of the woodwork and talk shit. Well, fuck you all. Go suck Monte Barrett, David Haye, or either one of the Klistchko brothers dicks. Those of us who really know and appreciate boxing will watch Tye conquer all comers in the heavyweight division.

You really don't have anything better to do than to come on boxing forums and pretend to champion the cause of Tye fucking Fields? Knowing full well he is a clumsy oaf and bum who stands about as much chance of becoming heavyweight champion as Vic Darchinyan. Probably less actually since Vic hits harder than him.

Well Tye better hurry up because he's 34 and he's got alot of work ahead of him if he's going to conquer anyone other than D- fighters.
I'm afraid us douchebags who answered gave you the most serious answers you'll get.
And if you're such a huge Fields Fan than why don't you know if he'll be televised? We around here sure don't care enough.
If you really appreciated boxing you wouldn't be watching Tye "Bye Bye" Fields;D

If you don't know and don't care, than don't open the thread. There's no need to jump in here and start spouting off because you have a case of Tye Fields jealousy.
As for who he'll fight, Tye has always been open to taking on any and all challengers. Most have run scared from him (and I don't blame them when their livlihood depends on it)....but I've never understood while many boxing "fans" such as yourself continue to have this hatred and jealousy built up to one of the greatest boxers of our generation.
If you're gonna hate Tye, than start hating all the other great fighters of today as well like Pacquio, Mayweather, and Mosley.

Re: Television for Tye Fields return to the ring?
Guys come on.
The way I see it the division is up for the taking. Sure Tye may not be a champion, maybe he's not top 10 quite yet but what's great about this heavyweight division is all the talent stewing just below the top 30. You have Audley Harrison, Dominic Guinn, Hector Camacho Jr., Timor Ibragimov, Michael Grant and you have to figure that Tye Fields fits right into that group, let's see if he can keep up as all of them ascend to the very top.
So to answer your question sir, I don't know. However if you do find the answer, please share so us purist can stay tuned.

:cwm13: Come on man...take a breath.Taken at your word, all the power to ya for wanting your boy to succeed.Fair enough.
But to suggest that jealousy and fear play a part in regards to other legitimate Heavyweights running from him is.....frankly just delusional. He may have some things going for him.Hes as big as a house, seems willing, can draw crowds...cough.....and seems a nice enough guy, seriously! Hey...he's also a southpaw. But man simply put,He cant fight !This is the hurt business, not a tough man contest.Bad things happen when guys are put onto the main stage against the top fighters...or even a Monte Barret for all the wrong reasons and not fluid in the basic fundamentals of the game. They get hurt and promoters get payed.Tye may have a nitch and a void to fill, but make no mistake, its not among the best heavyweights.

I know! When I read that, I was sure he had his tongue planted firmly in his cheek. Now, I'm trying figure out if he was serious after all or if he's just still foolin'?

Re: Television for Tye Fields return to the ring?
I was hoping that this topic would have been covered last night on FNF...but not a mention of this big card next month? Maybe it will be discussed during the coverage tonight of the Dawson-Tarver fight?
I did find the following article regarding his comeback for those who are interested (although it doesn't mention anything about TV coverage)
edmontonsun.com - Other Sports - Fields' dream
Even Gerry Cooney is a Tye Fields fan (and no one should be able to recognize talent in the division like another former contender within the division)

Re: Television for Tye Fields return to the ring?
This has to be a wind up, but damn is it funny
I don't think even Tye Fields' mum would compare him to Mayweather & Pacquiao

Re: Television for Tye Fields return to the ring?
I did find out a little more information about the plans for the card here.....
TYE FIELDS RETURNS, GOING FOR WBCNA TITLE JUNE 20 IN NEW HOMETOWN OF EDMONTON | Boxing News, Results, & Rankings - 15rounds.com
However, still no mention of the television plans. I wonder if a bidding war between networks is taking place and no contract has been awarded yet?

Re: Television for Tye Fields return to the ring?
Two threads in two years, impressive, the first was best but I could just be sentimental
http://www.saddoboxing.com/boxingfor...itle-shot.html
Anyway I would PM Trainer Monkey personally as he's been on the phone for days wrapping this up
you could always find a stream though I guess that would be taking money out of Tye's mediocre pocket
Mediocre?

Re: Television for Tye Fields return to the ring?
Well as far as fields is concerned
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIswW0YTgTY
The brothers Klit would probably beat him quicker than Barret did.
He should be looking for a rematch with Monte before he mentions the names Wladimir or Vitali ever again.

However, I think that you do exaggerate a a bit when you talk about a bidding war to get him on the screen. The guy's not a top 10 yet and lost his most significant match, normally there is no bidding war at this stage. It's good that you're such enthusiast about him especially as not many persons over here are but keep a bit of balance in your judgment, the guy is as close of a bidding war to be seen in the ring as me. I wish him all the best though and it would be interesting if he could stir up things and bring some excitements to the HW house.
