Slow ticket sales for Mayweather-JMM fight
Ticket sales for Mayweather-JMM fight is quite slow...
"When Super Fights and/or Mega Fights tickets go on sale we were getting used to the promoter announcing in the first 2 hours that tickets have been “SOLD OUT” but arrangements have been made for closed circuit venues to open up on the night of the fight so everyone will be able to witness the battle.
No such announcement was made last Friday and it’s highly doubtful we will be receiving one anytime soon or at all for that matter."

Re: Slow ticket sales for Mayweather-JMM fight
Maybe casual boxing fans are anticipating a boring fight between these 2 masters of the waiting game (master counterpunchers)... A boring tactical chess match in the offering...

Re: Slow ticket sales for Mayweather-JMM fight
Probably the smart boxing fans are saving their money for the Mayweather vs Pacquiao megafight? How often do the "warm up fights" sell out fast?

I think PAC vs. PBF is the fight most boxing fans is waiting for... The slow sales of PBF-JMM fight is actually a blessing in disguise since low sales of this PBF-JMM fight will result to the PAC vs. PBF fight a lot easier to make... Why? Because this early PBF said there's no way a 50-50 purse split with PAC is acceptable since PBF is bragging that he's boxing's cash cow and should have a bigger share of the purse... A low ticket and PPV sales of PBF-JMM fight will disprove that PBF is a cash cow and will lower his purse demands for the PAC vs. PBF fight...
Actually it's better for boxing fans to boycott this PBF-JMM fight... Just sacrifice this fight so that we can possibly have the PAC vs. PBF fight in the future... Are you with me?? ;)

Blog or not ;) Would you boycott the PBF-JMM fight for the sake of majority of boxing fans who want the PAC-PBF fight to happen?? ... It sounds greedy but you got to sacrifice sometimes...;)

Maybe I'm not too clear there, I mean, would you buy the fight??... Of course as boxing fans, we will still find ways to watch that fight without buying it... ;D Just a little sacrifice for the possible realization of PAC vs. PBF fight (the fight most fans wanted to happen)... Get it?? ;D

I'll tell you what. I watch the fights on my flat screen in HD. The fight gets recorded straight to dvd while it happens. I also smoke narcotics and get wasted off either Tanguray or Grey Goose.
Now if you going to find me a place where I can watch the fight under similer conditions than I will happily not pay for it.

Re: Slow ticket sales for Mayweather-JMM fight
If the fight turns out to be boring, it won't be JMM's fault.
-
Re: Slow ticket sales for Mayweather-JMM fight
I do not believe that Mayweather is a big ppv fighter like ODH and Tyson.
-
Re: Slow ticket sales for Mayweather-JMM fight
blog or not, if its true ticket sale is slow and no up to par then it proves floyd is just a loud mouth and is not a "cash cow" the guy is just like his dad when it comes to self proclaiming.
I agree with the top post, if its a boring fight its not going to be jmms fault. jmm will come in looking to knock floyd out for all the glory.

Re: Slow ticket sales for Mayweather-JMM fight
I see one huge problem with this, is that if Mayweather-JMM isn't successful Mayweather won't have the proper acclaim or whatever you want to call it to demand a greater sum of money than Pacquiao should they fight, and you know he will regardless of how this fight does in terms of sales.

Well we have our own personal preferences... I'm not buying the PBF-JMM fight coz I'm expecting it to be a boring fight with all the waiting for both boxers and some running from PBF... I might just sleep through the fight and I just rather spend my $49.95 for other interesting/exciting boxing fights...;) (Note: I slept during the PBF-Baldomir fight)
Another reason of course is the boycott in hope that PPV sales will be low and will make PBF realize that he's not the cash cow he's bragging about...;D

Cuz your not a Boxing fan. I bet you if Pac signed to rematch David Diaz (a worthless a fight if there ever was one) you would everything in your power to get the PPV. You would steal from your mom's purse. Pawn your grandma's walker. I bet you will even kill your sisters chihuahua, grind his ass up and sell brugers to your friends to raise PPV money.

I already told you, I won't be buying this possible boring tune-up fight between PBF and JMM... Huh? You're comparing it to the entertaining PAC-Diaz fight?? I predict there will be no comparison VD... The beautiful boxing, the accuracy, the ohhs and ahhhs from the ringside audience, the blood, I think can't be duplicated in this upcoming boring PBF-JMM fight...

I think it will be more of Floyd's waiting and running... but both will be waiting for each other on who will throw first in the early rounds... From middle to late in the fight, JMM might press a bit after sensing that he's at a loss when PBF just potshots him and run...
Definitely I can see a potential boring tactical waiting game fight...

I feel pretty confident about Marquez not waiting on Floyd,he knows what he is facing at range. And hes not into dance shows.I think he might look to keep close and will be steady punching.

Yes JMM might try that but I think he will not be successful so he will revert back to his usual style, the waiting game (counterpunching)...

Re: Slow ticket sales for Mayweather-JMM fight
Hatton / Pacquiao didn't sell out until two weeks before the fight. I think the poor economy was a major factor there. I don't think we can use the same logic with this one although it is still a big fight. Vegas will probably get more excitement giving odds on the PPV and gate sales. +300K, -450K, ;D
I'll watch the fight, but I'll just watch it on live stream. There is just not enough excitement to make a PPV buy a forget about a trip to Vegas. It does have the potential to be a more entertaining than Berto/Urango. Did you even get through the fight? I sure didn't.

Dude! While I think JMM deserves to have his day at making the big $$$, I couldn't care less if Mayweather makes another big purse. Any disrespect Mayweather gets he's earned. If you think what I wrote poor attempt to be disrespectful wait for the real critics to spit that crap back in Marweathers face should the PPV numbers fall flat.

I also wish JMM can get some big dollars (he's a very good boxer) but I doubt if he got it in this fight... There were reports that PBF's purse for this fight is $15 million... I highly doubt if JMM even got $5M for this fight... Knowing "Money May", he must have demanded not lower than 80-20 purse split...

Re: Slow ticket sales for Mayweather-JMM fight
If you think Mayweather-Marquez
1. Is a tune up fight, your an idiot
2. Is going to be boring, your not a true boxing fan who can appreciate the sport.
3. Not worth paying 50$ for, your not a true boxing fan
4. A total mismatch, your an idiot.
5. Not worthy of anything because its not as significant as Mayweather-Pacquiao, then your an idiot.
It won't be boring, Marquez's style is such that Mayweather will be forced to be exciting.

Tune up fight is your 1st fight after a long layoff... It's also a fight where one boxer is heavily favored to win (4 to 1 is a heavy favorite)...
2. Is going to be boring, your not a true boxing fan who can appreciate the sport.
Guess I'm just a normal boxing fan, not a purist boxing fan who can have an orgasm watching boxers going at it utilizing the purist form of sweet science without much fireworks and blood...
3. Not worth paying 50$ for, your not a true boxing fan
Potential boring fight not worth $50 for me, maybe $30...
4. A total mismatch, your an idiot.
It's a total mismatch... Give me 1 or 2 tangible advantage of JMM over PBF... There's none I think...
5. Not worthy of anything because its not as significant as Mayweather-Pacquiao, then your an idiot.
It got some worth... It's an eliminator...;)

Leonard took on Hagler in his first fight after a 3 yr layoff, that must have been the mother of all "tune ups"
JMM in most peoples eyes beat Pacquiao twice, so then the real question is what advantage would Manny have over Floyd to make that a significant fight

Was Leonard or Hagler a 4 to 1 favorite over the other... I guess it was an even fight 50-50...
Bwa ha ha ha :lolhaha: Manny has the age/youth advantage over PBF... :lolhaha:
