I'm very excited about this!
Bilbo and Diane and all the other fans, GET READY!
Bilbo, not sure how long it takes for you to get the first episode, but I promise not to breathe a word about plot until you are on a schedule.

Thanks BG, I was hoping the official DVD's of the first series would be uploaded by now somewhere so I could rewatch them before the new series but I havn't been able to find them anywhere yet.
ButI can't wait for the new series, with hopefully Dexter to follow shortly after.
I had to kind of slog through the first season of DVD. I liked it at points. I guess the actor who plays the main vampire annoyed me. The way he said sookie grated on my nerves.
did they really kill off the gay guy
Well I 've been waiting to post on the first show of the 2nd season, to give Bilbo some time to watch it. So Bilbo, if you haven't seen it yet, stop reading! ;)
Thank God Lafayette is not dead!!!! At least not yet. Hmmm, he's in the basement of Fangtasia, where it looks like that's where they are keeping people that have done wrong against vampires. So I guess they are putting them on trial in front of other vampires? Maybe since Lafayette only took blood from Eddie, and didn't kill him, he'll get off easy. If there is easy with vampires.
I was LMAO when that redneck confessed to Lafayette that he let his campmate blow him when he was 15. ;D I also thought it was funny as $hit that Eric came down with foils in his hair from having highlights done. Well, it was funny to me at least.
So who else thinks Maryann killed Miss Jeanette?
And what exactly is Maryann? Is she the Grand Poobah of shape shifters? We haven't seen her shift yet, just vibrate, so I don't know, but Sam is sure scared of her. I read that she is going to cause lot's of havoc this season.
Jason turning to religion? WTF!! But I also read that things get pretty funny between him, the pastor, and the pastors wife.
And Bilbo, I'm sure that you were loving seeing Sookie naked. :spunk:
And here, I thought you would like this pic of her.

I'm loving this show. Anything Vampire I'm in like Flynn. I like blood it's tasty.:woot22:
Not sure Boxing Gorilla should watch this. Aren't you on lithium and prozac? Either way you're mental.
Enjoyed the season premier.. Sookie looked great at the end of the show!!
Anyway, i really don't even think there is too much to speculate on considering the first show was sort of an introduction to the series and besides answering a few simple questions it was sort of slow..
we know lafayette isn't dead (main question from last season).
we know sam/maryann had a past (already knew)
we know maryann is some sort of shapeshifter or something, but still don't know what.
we know that the newly turned vampire girl that lives with bill will be crazy.
i hope that the next few episodes are less draggy and more action and story telling. I felt like each episode last season still carried the story along nicely, but it was also really entertaining and kept you intersted.
and bilbo, i think dexter starts at the end of the year, can't WAIT for that.
for the shows that i watch, True Blood, Dexter, Entourage, Lost, True blood may start to drop to the bottom, next to Entourage, where i consider them just shows you can watch week to week for entertainment but not really get into the story too much..
heres to a good season two!!
Bilbo haven't you seen it yet?
Yes I've seen it now. I enjoyed it especially the sex scene which I will watch again....and again.
Actually its an example of how easy I am to pervert, I mean I found him biting her neck and sucking her blood quite erotic, I actually genuinely met a girl several years ago called Kimlan who wanted to to drink each others blood (she was a Wicca) and I was off like a shot but if she looked like Sookie I'd be up for it no question, damn I'd drain her and she could drain me :p
Ouma has kind of ruined Bill for me now as I keep laughing now every time I hear him go 'Sookie!' it is annoying.
And the way he speaks I have to say reminds of JT Rock soooooo much (just joking buddy watch the show and you'll get what I mean :p ) I mean the 'For all the ways I have dismayed, aggrieved and failed you I swear I will atone....' is exactly how I imagine he'd talk to his girlfriend if he got caught cheating or something, not that he would ever cheat of course ;D
JT I'm just messing buddy no malice implied :p
Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Actually just caught an interesting comedy show this week, the Life and Times of Tim on HBO. Downloaded the first season and I pissed myself its hilarious stuff.
Here's a clip

Check it out if you like the look of it I loved it :D
Well I won't talk about the episode yet, so that Bilbo has time to find it, and watch it, but I will say, that as soon as Lafayette gave out that email address, I thought to myself, "I bet Bilbo will try using it to see if it's a real email address". :biteit: ;)
Let me know if it is Bilbo. :smilie_whisper: ;D
Darn I don't have any internet to download now :( Can't keep up with the Gossip but at least when I get my internet running again properly I can watch them all in the row instead of having to wait a week between episodes..
All that anticipation and waiting :lickish:
I was tempted to read the spoilers here as a couple of loose ends at the end of the last season but I can't spoil it...
Oh, I have one question though that someone can rep me with the answer and don't lie, is Lafayette dead? He was crazy and one of the most interesting characters on the whole show so I don't think he'll be dead but it seemed like it..
we could just add *SPOILERS* to the thread and actually talk about it.
I"m not even watching it so don't really have much to add but I think Bilbo would know not to look on the thread after Sunday nights till he actually sees the episode.
True.. i officially deem posts beyong this point as SPOILERS!!! Don't read if you don't want to know!.
With that said.. HOW AWESOME OF A VAMPIRE WOULD LAFAYETTE BE?!?! I hope that this happens.. Also the scene with the new vampire girl was AWESOME. Especially when Bill came. You finally saw a bit more of what he's capable of.
I was a bit dissapointed with the maryann thing. she can turn Sam back into a dog, and probably other shifters into what they normally turn into i guess?...
WHICH brings up the question.. WHO WAS THE PIG?! Could it have been the guy that is trying to get with Tara (i forget his name).
All in all, i really enjoyed the second episode and thought it definitely kicked it up a notch like i hoped it would!
I think the pig is Carl, her little helper around the house that she biatched slapped to the ground. If I remember right, Tara was sitting with Egg while he was playing his guitar, while Maryann was sitting outside vibrating, and the pig was there with her.
I just think that they don't want to reveal too much about Maryann too quickly, because they want to keep us guessing.
Hmmm, not sure how I feel about the possibility of them turning Lafayette into a vampire. I felt so bad for him, there he is with a bullet in his leg, and then all three start feasting on him. And God, that was so gross when he was digging around in the rednecks leg. :p
The scenes with Jessica and her family were good, especially when Bill showed up. Once again, I bet Sookie pushes Bill away because he yelled at her, and she can't handle it. lol I wonder what Bill meant about cleaning up Sookie's mess. Is he going to glam them, or kill them?
I guess it's just probably funny to women, but I still get a laugh out of Eric being worried about his hair. "Did I get blood in my hair?".
And the preachers wife is sooo getting hot for Jason. At first the new religious Jason will resist, but eventually the old Jason will come out, and they will be having sex soon enough.
agree with the jason thing..
and you're right it may be that guy carl.. i couldn't remember where tara's guy was when they showed the pig outside, so thanks..
but yeah we will probably see bill/sookie drama, and then even more drama because eric will probably take her in the next episode.
There are a few things that irk me so far this season.
1. Sookie doesn't look as attractive as she did in season one. I can't put my finger on it, but I think she has a fake tan or something.
2. Jason looks very juvenile with that haircut. I know he is supposed to have turned direction, but does that demand he part his hair like a twelve year old?
Other than that I'm still lovin' it.
I think she is some sort of jinn. Not a shapeshifter only, but someone who can control people and/or give them powers.
I would guess that he glams them. If he kills them he will never get Sookie in a legit way again and he will lose the little respect that Jessica has for his "rules."
Oh $hit, I forgot about Sookie hearing Maryann's thoughts in a different language. Anyone recognize it? I'll have to watch it again, because I didn't pay too close of attention to what it could be.
yeah, it was weird becuase she blatantly asked "i don't recognize your accent" and maryann played it off cool.. so she either doesn't know about what sookie can do, or she just ignored it because she knew and didn't want sookie to know that she knew..
that sounded confusing hahah.
TBH, I was a little dissapointed with the last episode. Too many intense stares and heavy breath talking. If it was in spanish it would be just another soap opera on Univision.
I actually said that to a friend who hadn't seen the show before but was watching this episode.. i was almost embarassed as i was talking the show up before we watched it hahah.. i was like, this may seem real overdramatic but i swear it's not usually like this.. there was also a hint of this in the first episode.
I just read this, and thought that I would post it just as an FYI.
Last week we mentioned that the second season premiere of True Blood was the highest rated program for the premium cable network since the finale of The Sopranos.
Over 3.7 million viewers tuned in to watch the premiere, which caused the ratings to go up 157% from the first season's premiere.
And it seems the show's DVD sales are doing pretty good as well!
In fact, True Blood: The Complete First Season DVD has sold over 1 million copies!
The disc set was released four weeks ago and has already made $35 million in total sales.
It also took the top number one spot for TV DVD sales last week, followed by a far second place with Weeds selling 334,000 copies.
Don't know perhaps its because in the first season Bill was trying to land her, she was young and hot.
Now they are together and she's whiny and irritating. By contrast the loons fiance seems exciting and mysterious, a worthy conquest.
I'm sure once Jason has got with her I'll have to move on to somebody else.
I liked the brown haired one in the first season that was killed, not the one Sookie's brother choked.
and not the hippie
although on second thought I kind of liked her too.
No I was talking about the red haired one that got killed first who had done the sex tape with Jason.
The brown haired waitress and the hippie were both pretty nice IMO.
Cool Lafayette gonna be a vampy, he is going to be a formidable vamp. Hopefully he turns out to be a good gay guy vampy.
not read of this thread as says spoilers & me & the wife have just watched the first two episodes of first season, i think its pretty good, my mrs is into twilight & moonlight so i hear abt this true blood & thought might be summit we can both watch together, gonna take me a while to catch up tho
This latest episode was the best yet by far. Man that bull man was fucking creepy. The whole show was filled with tension and sinister undertones, the ending has got me hooked for next week's show too.
I can't believe you found a download for that already, that was fast.
Yes, last night show was awesome.
So that thing is a minotaur right? I can't wait to get a better look at it.
So it looks like Daphne was attacked by it as well. I wonder what powers she has, because it was weird that she just happened to be where Sam was when he jumped in the lake. Plus, based upon the preview for the next episode, she says she knows what Sam is. Is she a plant by Maryann?
I love Jessica and Hoyt together.
I liked how Terry called Sam out for being a coward as well.
Poor Lafayette. I wonder how this is going to change his character.
Okay, what is Maryann's special ingredient in what Carl was making, that made the whole party horny? Except Tara of course, because she didn't have any.
Okay, this pissed me off, at Maryann's party, you guys get to see all young girls taking their tops off, but the only guy who took his clothes off was an old man with a BIG beer belly.
I love Eric with his subtle humor, and the delivery of some of his lines. "And Pam, those were nice pumps". Plus, the look on his face when he was looking at Sookies back, just before Bill had her drink his blood, was classic. He looked like he was having an orgasm looking at all the blood.
And sorry to tell you this Bilbo, but you'll have to wait 2 weeks for the next new episode. They aren't having a new one next week, because it's the Fourth of July weekend, and they figured that a lot of people will be away from home, so next week they are just showing the first 3 episodes again.
yes.. great episode..
i also REALLY liked the whole jessica/hoyt thing.. how it went from her going into the bar ready to tear shit up and bite someone, to her realizing how intrigued hoyt was with what she has become and that he wasn't just some horny guy wanting to take advantage of her.. Great scene when you didn't know what to expect and she said, "i'll just have a true blood.. B+".. great stuff.
that bull headed thing was pretty creepy, but i'm glad that they are finally introducing some other sort of creature besides vampires.. I just hope it has some sort of relevance, instead of just some wild creature in the woods which would make the show a bit too sci-fi in my opinion.. you know like the minotaur or whatever it is has come to this town because it's after vampires or something like that.. i mean, so far the show has been VERY realistic and has not gotten too over the top sci-fi, and i hope it stays that way.
do you think that there is any sort of relation with the scratch markings on daphne's back and to her "powers"? or just coincidence that she also got attacked.
