Hatton v Khan - who wins?
Ok theres a LOT of speculation going around about this and Amir was asked this at the 20/20 Cricket final yesterday and said he would love this fight.
Massive for the UK and a Stadium fight for sure:cool:
If Khan can get past Kotelnik then i see this happening as it would catapult Ricky back to a title and give him the UK fight his fans want to see.
And theres one Man who will bust a gut to make this happen....cough ... Frank Warren!
And if Witter comes through and regains a strap we could be in for another domestic showdown again for a world strap.
'The Hitman' has yet to announce a decision on his future after slumping to the second defeat of his career against pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao in May but, according to Khan, his party is trying to make it happen.
"A lot of people are building it up and, after Ricky's defeat, Ricky wants to come back and get a big win so we're just going to leave it with the promoters," Khan told Sky Sports.
"It's a fight that could happen and what a massive fight it would be in Britain.
"I'm just going to leave it with the promoters. At the moment I'm going my way and he's going his, but if the fight happens I think it'll be brilliant."
Sky Sports | Boxing | News | Khan eyeing Hatton bout
So if it happens who would you go for?
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
I'd have this as a pick em all day long and may even side with Amir.
I think his speed alone could be too much for Ricky at this stage in his career.
Really do think this would be a brilliant fight.
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
I'm slowly coming around to this. I would dearly love for Hatton to knock him out in a really brutal manner. If Hatton has anything left he should dispose of an amateur like Khan. I'm not sold on this supposed improved model of Khan whatsoever and I'm not entirely convinced that Hatton is as done as the Pac fight might suggest.
It's a fight that could well happen and I think Hatton should take it. Hatton is no slouch and I have no reason to doubt that Hatton can get inside and unload quick and hard. Khan shouldn't be able to stand up to a Hatton mauling. It all depends on how much Hatton has left.
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
If Hatton actually boxes, unlike against Pac, he would destroy Khan's body. If he does the same thing thaty he did against Pac he gets knocked out again. I would love him to beat Khan but it depends on his frame of mind and how much weight he has put on since the Pac fight.
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
Listen you lot think outside the box for a bit here...
This is as much a potential fight Between Hatton and Warren as it is Hatton v Khan;)
Boxing ain't just about Sport;)
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
I would like Khan to finish another meaningful fight before making my final statement but for the moment, I would slightly lean toward him as Hatton has something to prove before I would give him the edge again.
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
I still think Ricky has too much for Khan at this stage, would would love to see the fight
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
I certainly got an idea of how this one pans out but I just wanna see Kahn against Kotelnik first........
One thing is for sure is that Kahn would run and Hatton would follow.....
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
As much as I hate to say it I think Khan wins - Speed kills.
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
ricky beats khan even after 7 guinesses, large fish and chips and even a bottle of bourbon
Dont get me wrong. Khans a class operator on his day. But there are only 3-4 men that would even get close to hatton on his day and khan isnt even near that level yet!
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
Hatton can't deal with speed, he was even getting caught by Malignaggi. The Collazo, Mayweather & Pacquiao fights showed a steady decline of a guy getting slower & struggling against opponents with quick hands. Also he's at a stage where he just won't listen & at some point he'll try to brawl & end up just getting repeatedly clocked. I think Khan beats him for a couple of rounds before the ref stops it by TKO around the 7th round. I fear for Miles' mental health should Khan beat Hatton :-\

Hatton been in with much speedier, clever exponents than amir khan and come out on top.
I dont buy into the whole hatton is past his prime. His reactions may of slowed down a tad but he`s still only 30 and with 12 weeks solid training he`d make khan look very silly!!
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
Is this the same Khan/Hatton who wouldn't fight because they're friends?
Khan gets lucky, Hatton gets ko'd badly (by his other mate) and all of a sudden Khan is up for a big £ fight? ;D:rolleyes:

Apart from Malignaggi who? & Khan has handspeed on the level wit PBF & Pac, certainly quicker than Malignaggi or Collazo. Morales was also only 30, fact is different fighters age differently. Hatton took big shots off some of the best, and its got to a point where he's paying for it & his lifestyle outside the ring

Amir Khan may have the speed, but he doesn't punch like Manny Pacquiao. He doesn't have Floyd Mayweather Jr's defense. He doesn't have anywhere near either guys chin, and he can be hurt to the body as Michael Gomez showed.
I think it depends on how Ricky Hatton does in the early rounds, if he can get past the early flurries by Amir Khan. I full expect Ricky Hatton to give Amir Khan a beating to the body and stop him in about the 8th round.
Im suprised people are picking Amir Khan so easily, when he has such a fragile chin. Beating an old undersized MAB who was a bloody mess in the opening seconds, who didn't even have a chance to get into the fight. Plus the fight should of been No-Conest, didn't really impress me at all.
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
Hatton stops khan in 8.No way Khan can take hattons body shots.Khan will cause Hatton problems in first few rounds but Khan is not that hard to get close to and will get bullied on the inside.
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
I cant see Hatton loosing to a non-puncher just yet.
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
Considering the fact that Hatton was obliterated by Pacquaio in his last fight. And Con would be coming off a loss to Kotelnik. Would this fight still be big in the UK?

Exactly
bet anyone on here that once amir does start mixing it with the big boys at 140/147 he steal malignaggi`s "powderpunch" status.
Khan wouldnt be able to hurt hatton in a million years, Hatton could knock khan out with one brutal attack to the body
hatton in 4

If Khan wins it's a stadium filler.
50,000 plus easily

I understand Hatton is your God. So you tend to go over board when you suck his dikk. But if career Lightweight Lazcano can hurt him you don't think Con can as well?

Oh yeah, regardless of there status on the World Stage (win, loose, draw etc), this fight would be MASSIVE in the UK.
We love a good 'Ol domestic. :p
Their like the only two fighters in the UK who pretty much everyone is familiar with. This would be BIG business.

Even when hatton was banging out the likes of mayweather/castillo you were on his back all because you want some attention to fill your sad miserable life.
I suggest you head to the pac forum. Youve much more chance of getting more bites than you will on here:bashtroll4cx4:

Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
No way Hatton comes back from that humiliation job by the Pacster. A couple of solid shots he's going down from anyone (barring powderpuff Paulie).
Problem is, Kotelnik will be sparking Khan, so the fight wont happen anyway. ;)

Yes he'll be back. I'm saying he'll get humiliated again when he does come back.. unless they find a serious powderpuff job. And that's not Khan.

He got beat by the 2 best fighters of the last decade
You cant base that when comparing him to second tier fighters like bradley/campbell diaz etc.
Hatton will end his career infront of 70,000 brits by rebecoming the light welterweight champion of the world!!
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
Theres still 2 Huge Domestic and possible World title fights for Hatton in Khan and Witter if he chose that route.
Would love to see both those before he retires and both on home soil.
Think he owes the fans that much and would still make Millions.
The Gate reciepts at any Hatton fight in a Football stadium would be ridiculous.

There's no disgrace in who Hatton lost too, it's how he lost. I don't believe he'll be able to recover mentally from little Pacster humiliating him. He said he doubted himself against Lazcano because of the Floyd loss, but believed he was UNBEATABLE at 140. He knows that's not the case anymore. He doesn't have no more excuses. I don't think he will react very well the next time he is clumped.

sure would
rule out both witter and khan straight away
As ive been saying for years with guys like hatton/calzaghe they would never turn their backs on mega rich fights on HBO/Showtime for in comparison pennys from the likes of sky sports.
Clazaghe wont fight froch/woods, hatton wont fight khan/witter
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
'Still a bad fight for Hatton. He would make Khan look like a million dollars. Urrrggh! But if Ricky pulls it off, he'd redeem himself in some way.

Fella i don't really see that Hatton in the US is seen as much more than "Damaged Goods" and who's he gonna fight and wheres he gonna go and more to the point would the big players wanna touch him....don't think so after what Pac did?
And to say he'd make pennies in a 50-60,000 plus domestic mega fight is crazy.
Hatton would take a huge slice of ticket sales etc and make a fortune.
Maybe not with Witter but with Khan they'd both make loads.
Hatton More so
I think your underestimating his pulling power here:-\

In other words you have no answer. I ain't no Con fan. But he does have some power. More so than Lazcano I think. So if Lazcano can wobble Hatton bad enough to the point he had the ref tie his shoe to buy time, I see no reason Con can't do the same. It's one thing to be a fan of the guy. It's another to be a dumb ass groupie who says idiotic shitt like
"Hatton will end his career infront of 70,000 brits by rebecoming the light welterweight champion of the world". :vd:
In order for him to become Light Welterweight champion he would have to beat the guy who massacred him. Manny Pacquiao. While eveybody (including Hatton's family) knows he has no chance against him. Your actually stupid enough to think he does.

Hatton fighting Khan is a far bigger fight than anything HBO would come up with even without the probable HBO/Showtime license fee for the fight. Hatton is no longer a PPV attraction and Hatton vs. Bradley or similar would maybe get a one million dollar licence fee. They'd pay a smaller licence fee for Hatton Khan but they'd sell a stadium out and do big business on Sky Box Office. If Hatton is after money, and he is, Khan is the biggest money fight out there for him by a country mile.

When did Khan become a super star i know Hatton is on the slided he got ko'ed in his last fight.Khan got ko'ed in the first round not so long ago and his best win is against a shot MAB moving up a weight.

80-90% of the British boxing public don't have a clue about the relative merits of foreign boxers. They know Khan won an Olympic medal and beat a Mexican legend, they don't know or care he got legendary for fights a decade ago almost a stone lighter than he is now. The bottom line is Khan shifts tickets, it doesn't really matter who he's beaten, it's how many bums on seats can he do.

I wonder if Warren thinks Hatton is that shot he will put Khan in with him.Otherwise he wont want to risk another defeat of his leading fighter.

Exactly. Khan is no superstar and doesn't even hold a legitimate win over any world level fighter. It's an easier fight for Hatton than some are saying. Hatton has gone from top 10 PFP to bum of the week in the space of two, admittedly awful, rounds. He hasn't quite become that bad, he just fought a stupid, stupid fight against Manny who is quite possibly a bit better than Amir. :-X
The general public is a large faceless dumb entity spoonfed garbage by a tasteless and irresponsible media. We all know Khan is shit and no doubts it could be built into a rather large domestic showdown and people would lap it up. If Hatton could come back with a 3rd round knockout and wash away all the Khan dribble I would be a very satisfied individual.
-
Re: Hatton v Khan - who wins?
Im a big Khan supporter and would be routing for him in this fight but imo he doesnt stand a chance. He is no where near ready for Ricky even at this stage of Ricky's career.
If you think Warren will put Khan in with Hatton you must be bonkers, not for another 2 -3 years untill Ricky is completly washed up. This is just all talk to get more publicty for Khan. I think Khan has the potential to beat Ricky handidly but just hasnt got the experience or chin at this stage of his career to hold back Hatton. If Khan was 25-26yrs old Vs Ricky now i would pick him to win.
