Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
Its now looking like Vitali is going to fight Valuev, and Wlad has just fought so who should Haye fight to stay active?
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
My guess is chris arreola
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
My feeling is Haye is afraid to fight any HW so he will just sit it out and try to lure Wlad into the ring.
I will be truly shocked if Haye takes a fight within the next couple months.

I see him fighting either Kevin Johnson, Hasim Rahman or JD Chapman.
He was going to fight Chapman last year but Chapman was pissed as his promotional team agreed it. However he's calling Haye out now he's switched promotional outfit so its a possibility.
Rahman is shot but fought Wlad last December so he could call it a comparison fight.
Johnson is the riskiest fight of the 3 but has been protected and Haye may see holes in him.
Truth is, I see it as being somebody who isn't likely to beat Haye, because they're not going to want to hurt the position they have right now.

Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
He should get in with Arreola.I think Haye can out box him and stop him late aslong as Haye doesnt stick his chin out it could be an easy boxing lesson he dishes out imo.

I must agree Arreola would be the best match-up. I still don't think Haye deserves to move up the ladder that quickly but I'll give it to him.
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
Kevin Johnson would be the best move IMO. Before he would be critisced due to apparently little punching power but he's now on a 3 ko streak against decent boxers in Seldon and Vargas. This has showed a much more aggresive style which makes him more interesting to fans. However its a accumulation of blows, not just one. This would make him god for Haye, plus he's the best/second best US heavyweight (counting the Nightmare as Mexican) and is pretty well known. He needs a big name like Haye on his resume before he can be considered a Klitschko victim.
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
Just thought the winner of Dimentriko vs Chambers would be a great opponent. There probably on the fringes of a title shot and woulden't want to ruin there chances, but the undisputed (debatable) Cruiserweight champ and perceived heavyweight hope on there record would be great.
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
I'd say Povetkin, providing he isn't going to be wald's next opponent. If Haye doesn't get a shot at either Klitschko he needs to fight some one with a big reputation to make his case a stronger one. I don't think a win over arreola does that.

Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
The next time Haye calls out someone, I just wish he would man up and be tottaly prepared for it.
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
After all this freakin build up and t shirts and shit talking if he doesn't fight a klitchko then who gives a crap what that loudmouth does. Mid-as-well start calling out floyd like everyone else.
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
Haye can talk the talk, but can't walk the walk.
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
I'm sure Haye rematches Monte Barrett
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
Chambers (if he wins), Arreola or Johnson. Fight somebody! Or else stfu!

i say let him fight Povetkin, both claim they should be getting Wlad

Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
I'd like to see him fight Sam Peter. Peter is slow and clumbersome and basically Tailor made for Haye in every way except he can punch. But Haye needs that, If he can withstand a decent shot off Peter then he really does have the makings to be a good HW.
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
Well David Haye SHOULD fight someone on the level of Sam Peter, Lamon Brewster, or even Tony Thompson, Ray Austin or someone like that, and I am sure that the talk will be of guys like that but eventually he's going to settle on someone less threatening like Paolo Vidoz.
It would be nice if David Haye went for the "British Title" because that is so meaningful ....but seriously wouldn't the Brits be all for Haye fighting Audley Harrison??

Undisputed world champions are a little past Brit level.
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
If I am not mistaken Carl Thompson is British...so really David Haye isn't even the best cruiserweight in his own country let alone the whole World ;D. But even if Haye is a "World Champion" isn't a "World Champion" a bit past fighting the likes of Monte Barrett???
Plus at heavyweight there ARE matchups in England that I am sure David and his fans would be OK with, but I am sure David will pick out some little kitten of a heavyweight who poses no threat to anyone, especially anyone that is a "World Champion"

Thompson is retired.
Barrett was a tune-up fight for an undisputed champion entering a new divison. Maybe it didn't impress you, but it sure did impress the Klits, so much so they signed Haye for three fights. ;)
So what was wrong with Barrett?
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
Valuev would be a good option. Give Haye some leverage with the Klitscho's when that fight finally does happen.
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
Why does everyone hate David haye so much? yet hold the boring robotic Klitschko's in such high regard? i think he should fight Anyone in the world top 10 by this i mean The Ring top 10 not an organising body.

I thought he made a good account of himself againsed Haye, he came to fight. Great ring entrance too, that was some funny shit

I agree I would like to see fight Kevin Johnson. KJ is a big thick dude. He has a very fast jab and he does have some pop as you have said he is on a 3 KO streak right now.

Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
Hell even Butterbean at this point, just get in the damn ring. He's just wasting time now. The heavyweight division is moving on and he seems content to just complain about it. I had hopes that Haye would bring some excitement to the division, take out some of the lower level guys on the Ring Rankings and working his way up. Instead he backed out when he got the fight he wanted. Granted the money thing would be an issue, however if he did beat Wlad (as he seemed to believe he could) he could have named his price and all terms for future fights.

#1 David Haye has an inflated sense of self and accomplishment and he never stops talking...everyone knows he doesn't have a hope in hell of beating Wladimir or Vitali.
#2 The Klitschko's may be boring to a few people but they are dominant, they are class acts, and they are great ambassadors of the sport...they are smart, they give back to society, and they don't get in trouble with the law.
I think the David Haye fans will soon realize that the heavyweight division is not as weak as they once thought it was.
Oh and Fenster you say Monte Barrett was a tune up, well Evander Holyfield's second heavyweight fight was Pinklon Thomas. And yes David Haye SHOULD fight the top contenders (contenders not Champions) in the division, however, both he and his management will not risk him...he'll lose soon anyway

Well Lyle you must think the Klits are PUSSIES (pun intended) for picking on the little crappy cruiserweight, right?
If Haye is so unworthy then explain why they signed him with their 30 rematch clauses incase he sparked them?
Why didn't they say he SHOULD fight contenders first? Why didn't they say they have BIGGER fights than Haye?
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
If he's gotta fight someone other than the Klitschko's I'd love to see him face Arreola! I don't see that fight happening though...
Maybe he could fight someone like Maskaev or Peter
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
Haye has a few options.
John Ruiz maybe he can ko him like Tua did.
Sam Peter
Eddie Chambers
James Toney
David Rodriguez and untested undefeated Heavyweight.
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
Nobody, he should just wait or fight a Monte Barret level opposition.
Haye would get smashed by any of the top 10 heavy's; he might as well wait for one of the Klitsckos, so he can get paid hansomly for it.

No I don't Haye talked his way into the fight and they wanted to show him the error of his ways.
David Haye is 100% media hype...we'll see what he does without Setanta and without Steve Bunce blowing smoke up his ass all fucking day. He's "jumped the shark" so to speak in shit talking he'd be better served to stop it before Wlad drops him outside the ring
The Klitschko's used their standing as Champions in the HEAVYWEIGHT division along with their enormous fan support in Germany/Points East to get David Haye the fight he wanted and they gave him the terms that he had earned up to that point.
This is beyond ridiculous David Haye bitches about NOT getting the fight, then he GETS the fight and then bitches about the contract for the fight HE wanted, and then he pulls out of the fight altogether and continues to bitch about both the fact that he didn't get the fight AND the contract for the fight that HE WANTED.....2 words for Haye and his fans GROW UP
-
Re: Who should haye fight if its not the Klitschkos?
Fenster I am sure all the top guys all have rematch clauses in the contracts, it is just good negotiating. It is probably standard boilerplate language for a champion.
