Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
I see Palin has resigned her post as Governor of Alaska, citing a "higher calling" aimed at unifying the country along Conservative lines. Sarah Palin for the Republican nomination in 2012? Gawd I hope so. :lolhaha:

Sarah Palin as the Republican nominee is great news for the Democrats. But she hasn't a hope in hell of being nominated, I just find it entertaining watching deluded people make fools of themselves. It would make for good TV, and she'd get lots of coverage on tmz.com for sure.

I don't know. While I find it highly unlikely that she would get elected, George Bush got elected. Twice (well, once really, but that road has been well-traveled). In a very superficial way she's basically George Bush with a uterus, minus the storied family history. Never underestimate the stupidity of the human race.

Re: Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
Who cares; I want to make a hybrid LEGION/Palin litter with her. I get some bizarre urge to smear her with Country Crock butter and throw tomatoe's at the back of her head.
-
Re: Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
Has it come to light that this was her reason for doing it? I haven't been keeping up. I just suspected it was because she was caught doing something and forced to, or face a smear campaign. Pure assumption on my part.
I actually hope it is true. I find her and here base extremely interesting. Just not for the same reasons as Legion. lol
-
Re: Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
Did you see the press confrence.....sharp stick in the eye painful. She has 'charisma' and a following but just needs to talk less.
The whole spat with Letterman.Just a dumb move of wasted energy...had to have terrible advisor's or just did not listen

She hasn't specifically said she wants to run for pres, but the part about a higher calling and uniting the country is straight from the horse's ass, so draw your own conclusions. Any delusion is possible with this one.

Re: Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
I've never understood the out and out hatred for this woman. I find it odd when "open minded" individuals demonize and insult people b/c they disagree with their politics. I share some common beliefs with Gov. Palin but not all and doubt I would vote for her. That being said she strikes me as a very hard working, family centric woman and all around decent person.
-
Re: Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
I hate her. I hope she falls off a horse or something. :-X

I can safely tell you I don't hate the woman. If anything, I felt a bit sorry for her because I think she was little more then a political ploy that went terribly wrong for the Republican party. She was obviously not prepared at the time to be running on the platform she was. She might surprise a lot of people if in fact she does run this time around, and is prepared. But I just cannot see it being successful, unless the Dems really screw up big time before then.

I can't speak for others, but I don't hate her, nor are her politics the biggest problem. IMO you have to take someone seriously in order to hate them. I don't think she's a bad person either, and I could care less about her family values. I just think she's stupid to the point of being amusing, and no-where near capable of leading a nation.

Okay, that was maybe a bit strong. Instead, I hope she mutates into a horse. She is half the way there by the looks of her.
-
Re: Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
I can speak as a Conservative, I think people on my political side like her simply because the Democrats/Liberals hate her or are scared of her.
I would rather Romney or Huckabee or Bobby Jindal get the nomination for 2012

not to rehash the campaign but I don't see how one can say that the current president is or was capable of leading a nation.

I was just feeling a bit trite. I revised my opinion to hoping that she mutates into a horse instead.
I just hate stupid people in positions of power and influence. It makes a mockery of the political process. Now, Obama is an intelligent and articulate figure who carries his position quite well. It would be laughable to see Palin run for President. Not that I am that enraptured with Obama, but he has been the best of a bad bunch in a desert of US political figures.

So says you, but I doubt the Americans will be so elated when they have sky high energy prices (yes even for the very poor whom Obama had promised to help) and there is talk of a Value Added Tax, so I guess that "Tax cuts for 95% of citizens" was said just because it sounded cool...sounds like a fun 4 years huh? And the guy JUST took office. At this rate, I'd rather have Sarkozy be our President than anyone else.
If anyone forgot why they were labeled "Tax and Spend Democrats" or the "Spendacrats" Obama is here to remind them....not that Bush was a great fiscal conservative either, but Obama is making him look like one now
-
Re: Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
I would hate her if I didn't love her so much. She's the symbol of the absolute self-destruction of the Republican party which I really enjoy, like every day. Good job John!
Palin, Jindal, Haley Barbour, LOLOLOL. Can we just skip the 2012 election and move on?

so she is stupid because she doesnt share your political views?

there are plenty of smart Republicans, Palin doesn't come across as the brightest bulb. Understatement.

you should live in the uk, energy prices have gone up 40%.
average petrol price per litre is £103.8
That works out about 64cents a litre.
U.S. Retail Gasoline Prices
$2.60 just for something to work on.
1 US gallon = 3.785L
1 UK gallon = 4.545 litres
Is anyones head hurting yet?
-
Re: Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
Missy, that's all well and good that you want to compare and contrast energy prices in England and America BUT you guys voted for that, you guys have year after year gone on and on about Man Made Global Warming (which is total crap by the way) and you guys have voted for higher taxes and higher prices on yourselves....Americans in general don't like taxes and they don't like not getting their money's worth on simple stuff like electricity and gasoline....Wars have been fought over such things.
No matter who is in office, no matter what party runs the country, the United States is a Center Right country, we love our LIBERTY and our Freedom, and we don't like taxes

Whatever, I wan't intending to debate about Obama, or left vs right, my observations were just about one moron, but if you want to compare her favorably to Obama, I'm sure you'll find Lyle will agree with you.

Re: Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
She was running for VICE President not President...and I find it very hypocritical that the very same people who support Obama (and therefore support the likes of Joe Biden) call out Palin as an idiot.

Lyle's agreement is important why? The left likes to paint this woman as stupid. You seem to agree. Why do you think she is stupid is all I am asking? She is often described as not having the experience required to be a viable presidential candidate. I just don't see the difference between a one term senator and one term governor other than one of them actually has at least some executive experience.

I was talking about what she might be intending to do, not what she did do, but ok I'll bite. I'd say that someone who runs for vice president should have some ability to lead the country, wouldn't you?
And your remarks about hypocrisy aren't worth much. Anyone who calls Palin an idiot but supports Obama is a hypocrite? By your logic, I'm sure I can create an argument that says we're all hypocrites.
Guess what, I never said all dems were above reproach, but i knew damn well that as soon as I dared criticize brainiac Palin, you'd turn it into left vs. right. Guess what, I'd be just as horrified if she ended up running for president as a democrat, although I'm sure you'd be quite pleased. Get my drift?

Re: Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
partisan politics aside, it seems quite often people/media can't differentiate between policy and philosophical differences and personal feelings.

Ok forget Lyle's agreement. I'd say it's more than just the left that questions her smarts. And I hadn't questioned experience, I was questioning her intelligence. I'd some say there are some things no amount of experience would compensate for, and she's a prime example. And it's got nothing to do with her being on the right. Like I said, if she was running on the left I'd still say she was a moron. But if you want to disagree agree about my assessment of her brains and leadership qualities, that's just fine.

Re: Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
I am pretty sure it is a political thread by nature considering the OP. People rail against Palin all the time in regards to policy and refer to her as stupid. I just don't understand the hatred this person initiates. Why hate someone b/c they disagree with you? Why is someone stupid b/c they don't follow your idealogy? If this doesn't apply to you than disregard but it describes some of the above posters. You say this isn't the case with you specifically yet you don't really seem to be able to articulate your dislike for her in specifics.
-

From my few visits to the US I'd say they like to consider themselves as open minded and fair but on the whole they're mostly conservative scardy cats.

considering the OP? LOL. Meaning you consider me prone to making confusing personal feelings with politics? No doubt you consider yourself above that kind of thing. Ok dude, if you want to dispute my position by using Ad Hominem, suit yourself. Yes, I disagree with her policy, and I consider he stupid. Satisified? I already said I'd still be dismissing her if she was a democrat, well there ain't too much I can say. And if I were only dismissing her because she was a far right republican, then I'd have to do the same for all republicans wouldn't I. But I'm not dismissing al republicans. Ok well now I look at the last point and you are saying "if this doesn't apply to me then disregard?" You mean you can't decide that for yourself. You were responding to my posts were you not? Or was that just co-incidence? And no, I don't feel like getting into a debate with you about why exactly she is stupid and/or incapable. If you haven't reached that conclusion already, then you are not likely to be convinced by anything I say.
p.s. OP means original poster does it not? if not disregard my first comment. And just because this thread is about her abilities as a politician, that doesn't mean my OP (original post) was motivated by political ideology.
-
Re: Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
Somebody shit in your cheerios this morning CGM? Kind of billigerant today. The OP (original post) pretty much makes this a political thread as I said, while Lyle in only the way he can made it a partisan thread. You continue to bring up republicans/democrats as well. I wanted to redirect back to my first post. Why do people so strongly dislike Palin? Quite often I hear a lot of name calling but little substance as to why the hatred.
-

Obviously you have no idea who Joe Biden is and he IS the Vice President....he's also a fucking moron, but he was riding Obama's coat tails so that makes it ok because Obama is perfect in every way and it's that kind of mentality that makes me wait for the day he and his administration gets SLAMMED with controversy and corruption.
I'm not a Palin fan, I don't like her all that much although I do admit she's important to the Republican Party, all I said to begin with was and I quote "The reason the Republicans love her so much is because she's hated and feared by the left" is that not a bipartisan post good sir??? Sarah Palin is a rallying cry for Republicans, she may not be the greatest BUT she's effective (moreso than anyone else it seems) in mobilizing the core of the party and given the current political landscape that is very important.
Missy, what are conservatives scared of? If it's taxes we're not scared so much as pissed off considering how such money is spent.
-
Re: Truth is stranger than fiction - The Sarah Palin Chronicles
Now let's not go blaming me for making this a partisan thread, my original post was just an attempt to explain Palin's popularity. Also me comparing Palin to Joe Biden was only to show that whilst the Democrats were calling Palin "dumb" and "inexperienced" they went ahead and voted for the "Inexperienced and Dumb" ticket Obama 1 term Senator and Joe Biden who might be slightly retarded
