I was talking about what she might be intending to do, not what she did do, but ok I'll bite. I'd say that someone who runs for vice president should have some ability to lead the country, wouldn't you?

And your remarks about hypocrisy aren't worth much. Anyone who calls Palin an idiot but supports Obama is a hypocrite? By your logic, I'm sure I can create an argument that says we're all hypocrites.

Guess what, I never said all dems were above reproach, but i knew damn well that as soon as I dared criticize brainiac Palin, you'd turn it into left vs. right. Guess what, I'd be just as horrified if she ended up running for president as a democrat, although I'm sure you'd be quite pleased. Get my drift?

Ok dude, if you want to dispute my position by using Ad Hominem, suit yourself. Yes, I disagree with her policy, and I consider he stupid. Satisified? I already said I'd still be dismissing her if she was a democrat, well there ain't too much I can say. And if I were only dismissing her because she was a far right republican, then I'd have to do the same for all republicans wouldn't I. But I'm not dismissing al republicans. Ok well now I look at the last point and you are saying "if this doesn't apply to me then disregard?" You mean you can't decide that for yourself. You were responding to my posts were you not? Or was that just co-incidence? And no, I don't feel like getting into a debate with you about why exactly she is stupid and/or incapable. If you haven't reached that conclusion already, then you are not likely to be convinced by anything I say.

The OP (original post) pretty much makes this a political thread as I said, while Lyle in only the way he can made it a partisan thread. You continue to bring up republicans/democrats as well. I wanted to redirect back to my first post. Why do people so strongly dislike Palin? Quite often I hear a lot of name calling but little substance as to why the hatred.

Obviously you have no idea who Joe Biden is and he IS the Vice President....he's also a fucking moron, but he was riding Obama's coat tails so that makes it ok because Obama is perfect in every way and it's that kind of mentality that makes me wait for the day he and his administration gets SLAMMED with controversy and corruption.

I'm not a Palin fan, I don't like her all that much although I do admit she's important to the Republican Party, all I said to begin with was and I quote "The reason the Republicans love her so much is because she's hated and feared by the left" is that not a bipartisan post good sir Sarah Palin is a rallying cry for Republicans, she may not be the greatest BUT she's effective (moreso than anyone else it seems) in mobilizing the core of the party and given the current political landscape that is very important.

Missy, what are conservatives scared of? If it's taxes we're not scared so much as pissed off considering how such money is spent.

So what about Biden? I know who he is but I haven't offered an opinion on him, I was talking about Palin, and I kind of figured I wouldn't be able to do it without getting dragged into some left vs right tit for tat thing.

But your point is taken. If you like, we can talk about why the American people had no big objection to Biden, as VP, when the same cannot be said about Palin. Actually no, I don't really want to enter that debate, i just wanted to point out the obvious.

As for that quote, that is MY personal take on Sarah Palin...I'm not a fan of hers politically, that may come as a shock to you, but I think she's fine as a political figurehead and someone who can rally the troops (so to speak) but I don't see her as a leader for the nation, I did however see John McCain as a leader the nation could get behind and someone with experience who could get the job done and not play favorites with either party....but alas this probably won't get appreciated for what it is and I'll eventually have to explain to Kirkland and any other Liberals out there that John McCain is a guy who can work with either party and he is a solid well respected politician...well up until Obama's media got ahold of him and tied him to W.

fair enough. Obama isn't perfect, years of experience is not his strength. but he does have other compensating factors that Palin does not have. Of course he is a Democrat, and that's a handicap that no amount of smarts and experience can overcome.

Sure, every one cares about family. We all have families. The problem with politicians who define themselves as being "for family values" is that usually what they are really "for" is their particular brand of morality.
