Bute-Andrade rematch 11/28!
Bute-Andrade rematch 11/28! | Fightnews - Boxing News Updated 24/7
Andrade is the man, heart of gold, chin like an anvil. Not the most skilled but I will root for him everytime
Re: Bute-Andrade rematch 11/28!
if anyone deserves a rematch its librado
All we need now is a half decent ref and this should be a right old tearup.
Im gonna go on a hunch and say that bute will have horrible memorys of that 12th round and librado will stop him AGAIN late on only this time it`ll count!

I hope you're right; I think Bute will not have haunting memories of the last encounter and will just do his thing again. That last round in their last encounter was basically his only bad moment and can't see it having a long term effect; but you may be right. I like Bute but Librado one of my faves so I'm hoping he gets it in dramatic fashion:woot22:May the best man win.
Re: Bute-Andrade rematch 11/28!
Lucian Bute by UD again, too much was made of the 12th round. And people seem to forget how easily Lucian Bute. Was outboxing Librado Andrade until that point.
I didn't like how Lucian Bute got treated by the fans, after the 1st fight. He's took risks in the past he's very skilled. And he's being a proper fighter giving Librado Andrade a rematch. I don't see how anyone can't respect Lucian Bute, even if your not a fan of his style.
I've always liked Lucian Bute. I've said for ages he will be the darkhorse of the division, and he will beat Librado Andrade again. He only got caught in the 12th round because he stood toe to toe, he won't make the same mistake again.
Re: Bute-Andrade rematch 11/28!
I hope Andrade wins, he's one of my favourite fighters, however, if honest I think Bute has enough savvy to outbox him for a UD. However, if Andrade starts to get him bad then Bute could be in trouble.

Couldnt care a less if he had won every single round, knocked seven bells out of librado and had him on the canvas 7 times.
He was knocked out cold with 30 seconds left of the fight and was down on the ground for a good 20-25 seconds yet the ref only managed to get to 8 :mad::mad:
marlon may as well of just picked lucien up with his own hands and declared him winner there and then

Lucian Bute was up at the count of 8 and a half, he got up like a true champion. Even if Marlon Wright wouldn't have gone an told, Librado Andrade to get back into the corner.
The clock had run out in the round, so all Lucian Bute had to do was stand up and respond to Marlon Wright. Which he did indeed do, which is why Meldrick Taylor lost to JCC, because he didn't respond to the ref but Lucian Bute did which is why he won.
I agree Marlon Wright did tell Librado Andrade, to get back in the corner to use the rules to there advantage. But still it really is irrelvant because the time in the round was over, so it wouldn't of mattered had he not of told Librado Andrade to get back into the corner or not
And Marlon Wright went back over and Lucian Bute responded. And the round was over end of. And Lucian Bute legitmately won the fight, and no rules were actually broken end of IMO.

He told andrade straight away to get to his corner which he did, reached the count of 5 with bute and realised there was no way in hell he was getting up, turned round to andrade who was still in his corner and proceeded to rant at him knowing it was biding bute valiable time.
He then re-begun to initialise the 10 count a good 20 or so seconds after bute was actually knocked down and after a good 30 seconds or so of recover bute made the count at 8.
andrade won that fight and was robbed
Re: Bute-Andrade rematch 11/28!
I must admit the Bute Andrade fight is yet another thing on this forum I don't understand.
When Carl Froch knocked out Jermain Taylor in the 12th after being put down himself early and behind on the scorecards there was nothing but hate and loathing for the man and countless threads saying how poor he was.
Yet Andrade lost 11 straight rounds and was never in the fight until Bute ran out of gas and almost got stopped and all of a sudden he was a hero for the ages and everybody's favourite fighter.
What gives?
All the controversial ending did imo was mask what was a very disappointing performance by Librado who did nothing for 95% of the fight.
Bute will beat him easily next time round.

What are you on about valiable time ? there was no time left in the round, i understand what your saying, but it wouldn't of mattered had he not of told Librado Andrade or not. The same outcome would of happened, with Lucian Bute responding to the ref then the fight is over. Lucian Bute got up at the count of 8 and a half why don't you time it.
Re: Bute-Andrade rematch 11/28!
Bute was knockdown with 3 sec left of the fight (not 30),
he was down for 8 sec. (not 20-25)
Andrade was about 2 ft. from the center of the ring when Marlon “proceeded to rant at him” (though not many ref pay attention to this rule)
Anyway this thread is about the rematch so here my prediction after a laborious calculus:
Bute – UD = 59.2%
Andrade – KO (TKO) = 37.3%
NC due to injuries = 3.5%
Bute – SD, MD or KO (TKO) = 0%
Andrade – SD, MD or UD = 0%
DRAW = 0%

Bute was not knocked down with 3 seconds left. The bell rang after tall the ranting to Andrade and the ref proceeded back to the count and then the bell rang. It was closer to 30 than 3 seconds.
For people not to say those extra seconds aren't precious should ask Mosley when he was in against Mayorga. Now that was a fight in which fighter was not in the neutral corner

Yes he was knocked down with 3 seconds left, its just no fighter can be saved by the bell in the final round. Which is why the bell wasn't rung, as the ref hadn't made his decision whether or not to let Lucian Bute continue.
Watch this clip he was knocked down with about 3 seconds left in the round, the round was over by the time Lucian Bute got up.

No way was he 2ft from the centre, 2m maybe. I personally think Bute was only up by 8 if you start the count the way Wright did, which was late, not from when he hit the floor, but still you can make that argument that he was up, in which case Wright's despicable behaviour detracted from a great show of heart by Bute to get up.
Also agreed there were only 3 seconds left, although I personally felt any competent ref would have stopped it when Bute almost collapses onto the ropes with about 15-20 seconds left

The time was 2’ 52” when the clock was disappeared from the screen, I counted another 5 seconds until the KD was produced so basically it was 2’ 57” of the 12th round.
About the fact that Andrade wasn’t in the neutral corner during the count, I already admitted that the most referees don’t pay attention to this rule and Marlon just used it to help Bute.
I also think the most referees would have stopped the fight before the KD, here you can have a case, but about what happened after KD the most people overreact IMO.

I don't think it should have been stopped, Bute had won every single round and was seconds away from finishing the fight, I really don't think most other ref's would have stopped it at all whilst he was on his feet.
Kelly Pavlik looked just as out of it against Jermain Taylor in round 3 of their fight but was allowed to fight on and win. Raphael Marquez was almost out against Vazquez in the third fight but he wasn't stopped.
I think the count was looooooooooong but Bute got up anyway and the bell was about to immediately sound.
He would have survived to the bell just by standing to his feet (which he did) and it would have been a bigger travesty had the referee counted him out.
Basically the bell rung when Bute was in the same position as Jermain Taylor against Carl Froch. Taylor was sprawled on the canvas but managed to just pull himself up and stay on his feet for a few more seconds before the ref stepped in and saved him.
Had Taylor been stopped prior to the knockdown it would have been premature there, and stopping Bute prior to being knocked down would have been premature here too.
The ref did a shit job of the count, but Bute did what he had to do and beat the count.
Much is made of the delay in starting the count by Marlon Wright, but Bute is already up and on his feet when the count begins, hence he beat the count.
Andrade just left it too late.
Re: Bute-Andrade rematch 11/28!
yea my fault on the count. thought there was more time than that cause the bell had rung later on.
guess the question is would bute have come forward after that break with the whole corner thing, i would probably say yes, but i see where the debate lies

The count itself was close take away from the time left in the round, looking at this video I counted from the time Bute actually went down to the time he got up...Not the time Marlon started to count.....
I counted to 9 with so thew time was questionable but fact is if Marlon counted when he was supposed to and the way he was supposed to Andrade would of had time to put Bute down again....Lucian was rteady to go

How would he? If you don't think there were only 3 seconds left there were clearly less than 10. The clock doesn't stop when the fighter is on the floor so those seconds would have run out whilst he was getting up.
Even if Marlon had given a fair count, as soon as Bute stood up the fight was finished, another punch wouldn't have been thrown.
The Marlon debacle if anything takes away from Bute because he did get up, and he did finish the fight.

No way was Pavlik as out of it as Bute, he took punches off Taylor & Smoger checked his eyes & you could tell thought about stopping it. The difference was Bute was not really firing back & was failing to protect himself (I thought the same in the 3rd Izzy-Rafa fight even though I was supporting Rafa) & the referee should stop the fight in those circumstances.
I consider the situation Bute was in similar to that Taylor was in just as the ref stopped it against Froch. Bute is an extremely tough guy, if you waited for a guy to go down before stopping a fight, George Chuvalo, Jake LaMotta, Carmen Basilio & Wayne McCullough would all be dead. Bute showed tremendous heart to get up & Wright's behaviour detracted from what was a tremendous show of heart by both men.
Re: Bute-Andrade rematch 11/28!
Neither Pavlik or Rafa were in as bad shape as Bute.
That being said I didn't think it was as gigantic a travesty as some did. But it could have been stopped before Bute ever went down.
Re: Bute-Andrade rematch 11/28!
it will either be a second round ko for andrade or a 12 round decision by bute. i can't see andrade waiting for the later round just to get lucky.
