Good to see he's taking his weight issues seriously .
Wasn't there a report the other day claiming his doctors told him to control his "habits" or stop fighting?

Why not just walk away then? I know it's easier said than done for a person like Hatton but if you're going to eat and drink like a roman emperor it's probably best not to continue to get hit by people who have dedicated their lives to punching other people.

Yet if you're the other British son like Hamed and you do the same thing and walk away you will get called a coward that couldn't cut it once he was exposed. But Hatton doing it is just fine :)
Personally I think Hatton should have one more fight in england against Khan, then once he loses he can deliver a farewell speech to the fans in the arena and walk away with his head high and his pockets full. But he really needs to watch those weight issues.

Re: Hatton talks about his future/Amir Khan/FrankWarren
Hatton should just fight him now before he needs a crane to lift himself off the bed.

Maybe not Khan b/c of Warren but I think he fights at least one more time

It would have been accurate either way.

First, I've never said anything about Hamed, and he and Hatton's careers are hardly comparable other than the fact that both are British. Second, what is Hatton going to prove by sticking around other than he has an amazing ability to be on the receiving end of highlight-reel KO's?

Re: Hatton talks about his future/Amir Khan/FrankWarren
I agree with CFH and seeing how he has a cheeseburger chin at the moment, I would tend to think that he has a LOT of work to do to get fit again... he should retire or start to get fight right now in order not to drain himself to make weight.

And they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks......well looking at Ricky it's never been a truer statement. I think his attitude of doing as he pleases is up to him, but when people offer advise that he so obviously seems to need and ignores, it comes across as either very foolhardy or arogant.
I can see him fighting on and getting either badly hurt or badly
embarrassed, maybe he has circus mirrors at his house.

YouTube - Yokozuna vs Vader - April 8th, 1996 Raw
This match is actually very ironic as Vader was supposed to be working over Yoko's leg but winds up actually legit breaking it, they immediately stop the match and "award" vader the victory to quickly finish the match while Yoko rolls to the outside in immense pain.
He starts the pain screaming at about 7 minutes as the match is over they try to get him on a stretcher but it was obviously not gona work so obviously they went to commercial when they came back he was being forklift out at around 9.03. WWF of course uses this as a chance to get Vader over as a heel and improvises a 'fake' an attack on yoko's legit broken leg(though obviously hitting the thigh) but because of this injury Yoko wasnt seen in the company again except maybe once. was a sad sight as he was/is a legend and it was sad to see him go out like that

Sad, but true. Hatton goes on about being a man of the people when the sad reality is that he is surrounded by "yes" men and seems to have an ego the size of his current head. If Hatton is not in the ring within 6 months then it's best he never sets foot in one again. His weight and attitudes towards discipline are awful and now he has set forth into the world of the big 30 it's only going to unravel more and more.
It was always going to end like this, but some of us liked to think he might reign in the stupid habits. Obviously not to be. :-\

Re: Hatton talks about his future/Amir Khan/FrankWarren
My God, he has more chins than a Chinese phonebook. :o
It will cripple him to burn all that off again and again and again... not so sure he can do it anymore to be honest. His best days are well and truly behind him!

Just gave you rep for this, then they are pretending to whack his leg with chairs at the end? You kidding me?

pretty much. they improvised on a situation to get vader more over as a heel. But you can obviously see in the "attack" he is only hitting Yoko's thigh, not the leg. Dunno why yoko allowed it, but he was a legend after all :) but it was still a sad end. He did come back but only once or twice, his career was basically over. If im not mistaking he died a few years later because of his overweightness after doing a ppv for legends. Sad.

Re: Hatton talks about his future/Amir Khan/FrankWarren
The mentality of your average american/mexican fighter is "ive been beat but ive got to get back on the saddle and prove everyone wrong straight away"
Ricky did just that after the floyd defeat and even with an average performance was commended for picking himself up so quickly. Its been almost 3months now and if ricky is still in 2 minds as to whether carry on or not then its quite clear he doesnt have the heart or desire to be a champion anymore.
30 years old with a record of 45-2 does not warrant retirement, he is quite capable of 1 last journey to the top with 2-3 fights and should not be calling it a day at his age.

But, as you should know, a fighters age and record are not indicative of his capacity to continue as a fighter, just look at Fernando Vargas. Hatton has taken a ton of punishment over his career and his lifestyle outside of the ring only compounds his problems. He may only be 30, but his ring age is far beyond that. He's done and he should stop before he gets hurt.

Same thing I thought too; vomiting into a bedside bucket and then another all night depression binge while he watches the Pac fight over and over.
Only way us yank fans see him over here again is if he's a contestant on The Biggest Loser in 2 years time.
