Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
Can Haye KO him?
If Haye can't beat him from pillar to post for twelve rounds he'll probably get robbed on the cards. Haye has done 7 rounds in two years. If he can't KO him will he get the trip? :-\
I'd love to see Haye cause a minor earthquake by dumping that big lump through the canvas - which will obviously be one of the greatest sights in the history of boxing.
What happens?

Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
Valuev late TKO. Just have a bad feeling about it. Of course if Holyfield can do it Haye should be able to.
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
Vote you lazy sod.
I was starting to think Haye might run out of steam and get stopped as well. Luckily I can't even pick my nose at the moment. Good news for you Dave...
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
I dont see any real reason why Haye cant just do a more active version of what Evander Holyfield did. It was such a safe gameplan and he didnt take any punishment at all.
2 of the cards from the judges in that fight were 114-114 and 115-114 Valuev and Evander hardly engaged. Just take the same blueprint and bustle in once/twice more per round (so still a very safe gameplan) and that would be enough to take it on the cards.
I think if Haye goes in looking for a KO that will be his downfall as he will be tired come the later rounds and lose on points or maybe even get stopped in the second half.

Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
Haye all the way for me and if he could knock him down it would be good to see if he goes through the ring and if he stops him it will send out a statement to the heavyweights.

yeah if haye does that then the world is his!
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
Haye will use his speed and out box him to a points decision, which means split decision Germany.
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
Hairy Beast wins for me. Probably inside the distance

Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
Anybody know the UK start time of the fight?

Sky start at 8pm.
Top of the bill Germany noramlly starts around 9.30 for us. So around that time must be a pretty solid bet

That was kinda what I though - Cheers

Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
i am supposed to be out in manchester saturday night but really wanna stay in & watch the fight, decisions decisions
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
Haye has the Evander blueprint to follow and he has more speed and power but he has nowhere near the experience of Evander or the class/patience.
Evanders focus went a long way to him executing that gameplan but I question if Haye can do the same. Hayes not had that many fights and he hasnt fought many big men. Not only that but Evander had an amazing chin. Hayes been floored and stopped by cruisers.
Styles make fights so if Haye feels all he has to do is copy what Evander did then he is in for a shock. He may have to dig deep and box out of his comfort zone unlike Evander.

Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
I actually think Haye should be the first to stop Valuev. If not, he'll win a wide decision as long as he doesn't gas. I'm not as sold on Haye as some people, but I have a very low opinion of Valuev.
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
I think the biggest danger for Haye in this fight is him running out of steam in the latter rounds and getting stopped.
I am sure Valuev's team will know the most likely tactics Haye will use(hit and move) and have got there man working on cuting down the ring and forcing Haye to fight at a pace he is not comfortable with by walking him down.
I voted for Haye and I hope he wins but would not be supprised to see the big Russian win.
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
I think Hairy Beast will knockout Haye. There are 2 scenarios that could happen and that is Valuev coming out guns blazing and catches a surprised Haye early or he uses his height and weight and wears down Haye for a late round ko. Either way Sasquatch wins it.
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
I’m not a Haye fan but I really, really hope he’ll send “Bigfoot” into retirement.
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
I went Haye, but if Valuev starts leaning on him it's gonna go very bad in the mid-rounds.
Hey Fens what are odds of Valuev falling through the canvas if he gets knocked down?
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
Haye
He knows how to deal with monsters from all the scary movies hes been watching;D
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
I'm not a David Haye fan by any stetch but come on Valuev is absolutely fucking garbage.
Ok so he's a big guy and his chin may be solid but Haye should be able to batter the shit out of him for every round that the fight lasts.
I think a prime Tyson would KO Valuev inside two rounds, even the cautious Klits could probably do it inside 5.
If you told me that Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquaio were next in line for Valuev in Germany I'd expect them both to go the distance and only lose highly controversial decisions abroad.
I can't stress enough what utter garbage Valuev is. He's only kept his belt because he hasn't fought anybody half decent.
The one time he fought a fighter above mediocre he was completely outboxed and lost his title to Chagaev. Come on he needed his promoters to pay off the judges just to get past Ruiz and an ancient Evander....
Thomas Adamek could go up and outbox Valuev, in fact I'd probably pick Andre Ward to outbox him.
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
Haye wins KO. Valuev too big too slow and will take hard punishing uppercuts and overhand rights that he will not stand upto.

Agree, agree, agree.
Haye has speed and decent power but also a dodgy chin.
Valuez is slower than paint and is a monster for his weight.
Can't decide on the best thing for Haye, whether to rush in and try and tap Valuev on the chin early or take the patient and more cautious Holyfield route.
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
I'd love for Haye to spark him, would be an amazing spectacle, for some reason though I see it going pear shaped :-\
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
Haye will win via decision.
I see Haye starting quickly and looking for a KO. Then in about Round 8 he will start to dramatically tire...but that doesn't matter about Valuev, you'd have to be blind not to see Valuev's punches coming, he's so slow and utter tosh!
I predict a rather boring last few rounds, but Haye will have done enough...then watch the mouth run!
-
Re: Haye-Valuev - Who wins? Fact.
I think he'll either gas out or get impatient. Then i reckon he'll get caught. (haye by the way)
Stupid fight to take imo.

I'm not sure who to pick :-\
I'm in such shocking form that I think a vote for Valuev will help Haye though.

A prime Holyfield had a decent chin for sure but I guarantee right now Haye could take more punishment than Evander, who at almost 50 is a train wreck waiting to happen.
Holyfield got battered by James Toney years ago, his punch resistance really isn't there any more. If Valuev couldn't stop Evander, he won't be stopping Haye.
I would LOVE to be wrong though, as nothing would give me greater pleasure than seeing Haye's annoying smirk wiped off his face as his ridiculously buff body gets smashed to the canvas.
Sadly I think he annihilate Valuev and force his corner to save the sagging giant by about the 8th round and then we will have to endure talks of his greatness for the next 18 months until he fights again.

Ive just had this feeling all week long that haye is just gonna steam roller through him and massacre him with a huge right in about the 4th or 5th.
All logic suggests this should be a close fight that will be determained on hayes ability to handle valuevs heighth and reach advantage over nikolays ability to adapt to hayes superior speed and footwork. But ive just got this funny feeling in my water this supposed close contest is gonna be extremely one sided.

not really, Ruiz who's hardly a big puncher already dropped the Sasquatch, and an old Holyfield already should have gotten a W against him as well, so if anything, if Haye doesn't beat Valuev, it pretty much proves he's all hype

You should seriously be employed by a US boxing authority as some kind of spin doctor
You could convince the entire world that the best heavyweight in the world is Cris Byrd and that evander holyfield beat lennox lewis twice!!

is that meant to be tongue in cheek??
If not your completely being unfair here, ruiz, holyfield and chagaev all dealt with his heighth advantage. Why shouldnt haye?

ummm no it proves he sucks ass, cause a guy who started his career in the same division as him, only 15 years earlier, who has about the same build and is half an inch shorter than him, also add in that he's 18 years older than him, outboxed Valuev and made him look like a fool, so don't come with the BS excuses
HOLYFIELD-
Age: 47
Height: 6′ 2½″ / 189cm
Reach: 78″ / 198cm
HAYE -
Age: 29
Height: 6′ 3″ / 191cm
Reach: 78″ / 198cm

Holyfield was a proven heavyweight.
Not all great cruiserweights make great heavyweights. In fact it's very rare. Ask Lyle.

They are proven heavyweights.
