From what i do remember (have had therapy since to try and forget) ruiz on several occasions roughed him up particularly in the 1st fight and landed clean hard punches to the FACE with his 6`2 stature

Chagaev just bullied him for 12rounds, completely cut off all space between the 2 and took a comfortable decision
