Yea that's what's wrong with the sport.....can't blame mma fans for laughing at this one. If your father cusses on tv then he really can't be in the corner.

pretty ridiculous seeing how Morales one of their most highly touted fighters was trained by his father for about 98% of his career, and how Chavez their star fighter is constantly seen yelling to his son from the front row, he only doesn't work the corner cause of lack of time and well personal probs, making it that much more ridiculous

It's no secret that boxing has it's lengthy share of injuries and fatalities, but I personally would like to see more on this subject. All they are feeding is words as far as I am concerned.
"The most common factor out of all the fatalities that had happened, was having fathers in the corner," he said of the study. "Now, that's not something that's a medical issue, but it's something that's clearly an association."
Show me the list, make me a believer, don't just tell me about it, where is the study? Give me names, dates and everything else you have to offer in order to back up your claims.
What's next? No UNCLE Roger's?
I understand where the WBC is coming from, this is nothing new about a parent pushing his or her child to the limits and beyond but some fathers make a living from this. How are you going to deny a person to work?
What the hell is going on in Korea that all these strange new ORDERS are being made?
Concentrate more on fixing the judges problems, re educate them. There is nothing more that bothers me in a fight when I hear an announcer sitting ring side say: "I don't know what the judges are looking for."
This should never be an option that a judge can score a fight based on what he likes. This is not a taste test.
Implement the instant replay for questionable rulings.
Allow judges to be interviewed after the fight and set an age limit of no more than 65 yrs. I have seen some judges who are older than Moses.
If Ref makes a bad call, he should be brought up before some kind of hearing, review. We need a boxing Internal Affairs.
I guess I would start there and I would not stop until this was well organized.
Again, show me the data you have gathered on the father/son death ratio.
TY.
I guess the hand wrap scandal should also be something these clowns should assure any one and everyone that it will never happen again.

Nevada has just approved of instant replay in fights, which is a step in the right direction
and i can think up more names of fighter who have benefited from having their father's in their corner than the ones who have not
Felix "Tito" Trinidad - his dad saving him in the Hopkins fight was a clear example of this
Erik Morales - his father was the one who urged him to retire
Shane Mosley - willingly stepped out of the picture when he also felt that he wasn't best fight to help his son in the Margarito fight

You know what else is common? Bread. Either all the fighters who have died ate bread or at least at some point in their lives had eaten bread. The WBC should be really proactive and ban all fighters who've ever consumed the baked good in any form.

Bread shouldn't even be legal. 98.77% of all people who die, by natural causes, misadventure or foul play ate bread within a 6 month period of their death. Scary, huh?

This sounds really, really stupid. I mean, won't affect me at all, my dad can't even hold a camera to take pics or vids he shakes so bad when I fight haha. But yea, a lot of fighters their fathers are seasoned, trained professionals.

Someone needs to take care of this Suliaman guy. The WBC may be more credible then others but this guy is a complete wack-job. This is something you would be more worried about with youth boxers not professionals. How ridiculous.

Can we just use Sulaiman, stuff him like the stuff animals you find in any good hunting shack and display him in a museum? he would be as entertaining here than in reality without the silly stuff he seems able to spew relentlessly.

Remember the story a couple years ago about Sulaiman's son wanting Pavlik's t-shirt? They tried to strongarm him for that.

They also did it to Sergio Mora, I think it was the gloves. Sergio had already promised them to some one else when his son came in and demanded he hand them over. What a bunch of phuking dirty weasels these Sulaiman's are.

Well that pretty much ends any hope of a Calzaghe comeback.
What's next in their new rule book, anyone working a boxers corner must be in uniform or else face disqualification and revoking of their license?

Hmmm, maybe its not as daft as some may think, anyone remember the fight with Hatton V Stevie Smith in 2002 in Manchester?? The ref Micky Vann ( Hattons best friend ;D ) very nearly got sparked by Stevie's dad 'Darkie smith" as he didnt like the decisions from Vann, he climbed in the ring and had a pop at him which resulted in the been stopped by DQ. In fact as a result i believe he was banned from been in his sons corner by the BBBC.

It's a slippery slope bro, is the prob. You can find one or 2 exceptions for just about anything in this world. There is more going on here then meets the eye and common sense imo. They gonna ban all cornermen, next time one does something stupid? Know what I'm saying?

retarded idea
Not entirely sure if JC ever held the WBC belt at SM but thats pretty much the pinnacle of an excellent trainer/fighter relationship regardless of if its family or not.
Of course you get incidents such as zabs old man knocking him out and stevie smiths dad jumping into the ring and fighting the ref, but they should be dealt with as individual incidents rather than putting everyone in the same basket!

Yep, dont get me wrong bro, i feel for the peeps whom would suffer from such a decision. On the other hand ya can also see how these things do happen. I remember a particular bout in the UK some years ago, a young boxer getting battered in the ring, and his mother of all people jumped in the ring from the front row and started hitting the other boxer with her handbag :bashtroll4cx4: :o

I want to ban the WBC from boxing because they are con artists and seriously taking the piss with these bizarre and draconian suggestions and enforcements.
I don't know why we give the time of day to these gold spray on tin, belt organisations. They are all a crock of shit at the end of the day and don't mean anything anymore.
