My favorite mixed drink would be vodka and cranberry juice.
Ceasars are fucking disgusting.
Maker's Mark Bourbon on the rocks is as good as it gets for me but I do enjoy a gin and tonic sometimes and a really good bloody mary. I have to admit that during a Jamaican vacation I did become a fan of a freshly made pina colada...no girly glass or straws though.
Depends on the place and vibe I'm in...
Lounge - Cosmo
Club - Cranberry & Vodka for the bumping clubs, Johnny on the rocks for the more laid back clubs and Jack N Coke for the all out grimmy clubs.
With friends and family Corona or Tecate NOTHING beats it.
Non alcoholic: Coke and tea. But I don't drink either anymore. Only water these days.
Alcoholic: I like all sorts of things. I've been on a bit of a cheap wine kick recently. I'm a simple man, beer keeps me happy too.
Acqua minerale , senza gas
my old man once told me....
"if its cheap and it gets you pissed, order a double"
never looked back since ;D;D;D
Not much of a mixed drink type of guy but if I had to pick one it would be prob be jack and coke. Also like scotch and water.
I'm more of a beer guy though always have been . Give me a PBR and I'm good to go.
Dont drink to get pissed, used to with
Irish wiskey on the rocks.
Bunderberg dark rum and coke.
Straight Mescal, eat the worm,Fight everyone in sight. :embarassed:
Now its all more suited to which season we are in.
Killkenny beer is nice anytime.. :drinker: You ba$tards you've killedkenny!
BBQ time, Straight Cab sav, bigger taste the better, if you can spit the pips out Im a happy man.
Shiraz only if its older than 6 years and spicey. none of this acidic stuff.
Aged sweet white / so its yellow gold and botris has set in like
Porphery Sauternes etc with Thai food (green prawn curry) is the bomb.
Vic Bitter for at the Aus rules footy with ya meat pie.
Crownies at weddings.
Aged Port or better still aged musket for wintery cold nights, its like a mouth full of hot rich raisins.
OK ceasars are now off my list. Coffee is on.
The finest stuff from Scotland, Scotch Whiskey, a very good red wine, beer or a good vodka. I am not much into cocktail stuff, a gin tonic from time to time or perhaps a Black Velvet (cider combined with Guinness). That does the trick for me.
I usually drink good red wine, bourbon, rye, scotch, and various brands of beer (Dixie lager & Blackened Voodoo, Harpoon IPA, Red Oak, Sierra Nevada IPA, Boddington's, New Castle, Grolsch, Sam Adams, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Miller High Life, etc)
mixed drinks: Classic Gin Martini's, Gin & Tonic, Old Fashioned's....when I'm pressed I'll have a rum & coke or stoli & something.
Right now in my wet bar I have: Stolichnaya Vodka, Sazerac Rye, Broker's Gin, Pinch Scotch, Kettle One Citrus Vodka, Absente Absinthe, Irish Cream, Triple Sec, Dry & Sweet Vermouth, and Maker's Mark Bourbon....I also have a few bottles of wine and Orange and Angustora Bitters.
Good beer (too many to mention really, but there are some "good" beers that I don't like, I'd rather have a Papst than a Corona any day of the week), goodish Red Wine (I'm really not gonna spend more than 15.99 or so on a bottle that often (or ever really), besides there are lots of good bottles between 10 and 15), Vodka & Water, Gin & Tonic's, not a big fan of Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch but I'll drink it.
Things I don't like: Margaritas, Whiskey and Coke, Rum and Coke. If I'm drinking whiskey I'll just drink it with ice or water. Not a big fan of white wine but I don't really dislike it, I just don't really but it cause if I buy wine I buy red wine.
Ouma you're 100% correct, you never mix bourbon or whiskey unless it's with ice, or bitters and in that case it's just a dash.
You do however need to drink better wine or at least try it.
I am not a tequila fan or ANYTHING mixed with Red Bull, bleh
I've found wine over that amount to be very hit and miss, a few I preferred over "cheaper" wine but most I didn't. I just don't care enough in the end, I'm not gonna drink cheap cheap wine but there are plenty good bottles in the 10 to 15 to maybe 20 range.
You have to know what to look for...Chateaunuf's are ALWAYS over $30 but are usually well wortht he price. E.Gigal is very solid
Kronenbourg, JD with ICE, Corona with lime, milk and white wine.
don't often drink anything alcoholic these days BUT I do like a good G&T and discovered Champagne cocktails on holiday which were stunning, especially when drunk along side gin and tonic. Best bit was the serious drunkeness without the vomit associated with beer nor was there any hangover!:)
Student days it was beer with the boys;D
Back when I was a pro alchy I was addicted to cuba libres. That is without doubt the greatest drink ever.
These days my favourite drink is water... especially every morning to help revive me from wimpy amateur grade alchy hangover.

Right now it's Duvel but in a week or two it might be something else. It was Affligem Triple a while ago but the last lot I bought didn't taste right so I went off it. You've got to have it standing upright for a couple of days in the coldest part of the fridge or bung it in the freezer for an additional 20 minutes if your fridge can't get it really cold. And don't knock the bottle or pour the last half inch out or you'll get yeast in the glass and it ruins the taste. But if you get it right it's spectacular. Careful pouring too as it can get a bit of a head on it, use a pint glass. :)
I like red wine too, try and avoid spirits. Mainly poncey beers for me.
Meths
In keeping with my recnt gayness, my favourite drink is Bailey's Irish Cream ;)
I just asked JMM ,he recons he gets into the piss a fair bit.
I think Heineken is my favorite bear along with Dos Eques. At bbq's and stuff I usually start with Heineken or Corona and finish with Tecates or Budweiser. Tecate with some lime and salt is a pretty good beer that definitely gets the job done. I really like red wine, same prace range as Ouma's. When I'm out, long islands are my favorite. Vodka-cranberries are good too.
There's a girl at my work who drinks rum and tequila. I hate rum and tequila and I am particular about my vodkas.
Final verdict, Long Islands are fucken bomb as far as mixed drinks go.
Love the Dark Rum,Fosters, shinerbock etc....Also got drunker than a shitfaced sailor over the weekend on Bluemoons and Oranges,Coronas...Absolute and cranberry...and a couple of bottles of Almond Champagne.
Non alcoholic is , good old Detroit city tap water and ice, diet coke, coffee
alcoholic, nothing beats a fresh un pasteurized home made brew, little micro brewery's have some good beer too.
(Life is to short to drink commercial beer)
Ever try any other wheat beer other than Blue Moon? Lienenkugel's Sunset Wheat is decent, it's brewed with corriander so you don't need any orange to go with it. It actually tastes like Fruity Pebbles oddly enough...Fruity Pebbles beer, I mean does it get any better now you can have beer in the morning and it's part of a balanced breakfast ;D
Detroit tap water??? you brave soul
I don't know where in the world you're at the moment but if you have access to it, try l'Abbaye du Roc, the brown one, un pur délice. I very much appreciate a good Faro from time to time. Bless me, luxembourg is in the middle of France, Germany and Belgium, I have infinite access to all the good vices from every one of these places, chocolate, fudges, good cheeses, good beers... fantastic.
