When you look at Tomasz Adamek (39-1, 27 KO) today, it’s hard to believe that this is the same guy who just three years ago was a light heavyweight WBC champion, bringing 175 pounds to the scale. Adamek version 2010 is a heavyweight contender, with 222 pounds of muscle and power. “And speed, don’t forget about my speed and precision!” – says still “The Ring” magazine cruiserweight champion, a Polish native who dreams that this year he could add another – heavyweight – belt to his New Jersey home. “Goral” Adamek prepares to fight Jason Estrada at Prudential Center on February 6 and speaks about his transformation.

Maybe he's got some of Manny's magic potion eh?;D

Re: Adamek did really bulk up...From 175 to 222 pounds
It's all down to hard work in the gym. He's the hardest-working fighter out there apart from Pacneedle. Adamek has an incredible work ethic, he's a unique once-in-a-lifetime athlete, defying age and physiology.

Re: Adamek did really bulk up...From 175 to 222 pounds
Plenty of Cruiserweights would weigh around 220 weeks away from a fight. Im sure Haye and the like did. Its just he wouldnt boil down as much cos there is no need. Adamek did look like he always struggled to make 175.

Re: Adamek did really bulk up...From 175 to 222 pounds
Always weary of the best cruisers jumping up,does not always pan out.But I get the feeling Adamek will be one helluva fun ride.Would not want to see him push past 220 though.
-
Re: Adamek did really bulk up...From 175 to 222 pounds
Doesn't matter....he gets hit too much to do anything at heavyweight UNLESS he fights the right fighters but eventually he's going to fight someone that either has good defense and can box or someone who can dish it out better than he can take it.

Im not saying he is as good as Holyfield, but he has the similiar chin, determination and fitness that made Evander a top guy at 200+. I think Adamek will surprise many.

I hear ya....I'll say it.Hes no where as near as good as young Holyfield of speed or beard Imo ;D.Jk.His determination and drive yeh...Adamek will be good TV,solid respected comer. But never was fast and speed can be his downfall.
-
Re: Adamek did really bulk up...From 175 to 222 pounds
...I think his defense will fail him before his speed does. Evander had very good blocking and countering which is why he did so well for so long.

Re: Adamek did really bulk up...From 175 to 222 pounds
Lets hope he comes through the Estrada fight ok and the Arreola fight is made I would pay to watch that.

Yes!!!!!! Because there are not enough threads to mention Pacquiao in that pertain to Pacquiao...Lets mention him in every post in every thread:rolleyes:

Re: Adamek did really bulk up...From 175 to 222 pounds
I think I am going to just randomly throw in a Pacquiao-needle joke in every thread. Maybe a Mayweather saga of a untested warrior joke, and then cap it off with a Marg-a-chito joke. I love jokes. Especially ones that NEVER get old like these.

Arreolas in trouble
In a years time I think Adamek, Haye and Wvlad will be the top 3 heavyweights. Adameks gonna bring what the division needs

Re: Adamek did really bulk up...From 175 to 222 pounds
I am sorry but this is very contraversial. Those pics prove it. This a man who looked like a little beanpole at 175 now he is Schwarznegger'esk at 222 pounds. I remember the Dawson fight Kellerman I believe it was saying Adamek walked around at 200 lbs. 20 -25 lbs of solid muscle is very questionable "don't say well he works really hard at the gym" Last time I checked boxing is a cardiovascular sport where you LOSE weight when fighting not gain damn near 25 lbs of solid muscle. Genetics can only take you so far and from what I've seen of Adamek there is no way he gained this weight naturally. Not only that he gained it so quickly. It takes years to develop this type of muscle mass ask any body builder this guy did it within a year? Very questionable. I hope I am wrong as I am a big Adamek fan but something just seems fishy to me.

Manny Pac has started a PED taking trend;D
Seriously though Adamek will be a different beast at heavyweight. I reckon he will hold a version of the heavyweight title soon.
Anyone else ever seen a white boxer this ripped?

Exactley my point none of the fighter's he was fighting was Golota so this was at 200lbs and 175lbs. Where the f**k can he put an extra 25 lbs on that frame on his c**k? Like I said it takes years to put muscle MASS on and this guy has done that within a year. Questionable.

He doesn't even work close to as hard p4p as Mayweather.
But he is a good fighter and athlete. I still can't get over his fight with Dawson and how badly he was dominated.

Getting bigger does not lead to accusations as much as avoiding drug testing. If Adamek is asked for random drug testing and refuses it then he will be albeled as a cheat like Pac.
If Adamek comes out and blasts top heavies the fuck out and loses none of his speed then ask the questions too. Being well over 6 foot makes purring on weight easier too. Between ages 23 and 26 i've put on 24 pounds doing weight trianing and eating more hardly even trying.

Accusations have started way before the negotiation.

He wont be labeled as a cheat even if he has done all that without actual proof.
More astonishing feat has been done before.
Could you imagine a fighter ruling 126, 135 and 147 at the same time?
a fighter at 43 yrs old dominating a much younger Lineal champion?

Re: Adamek did really bulk up...From 175 to 222 pounds
Actually, I don't think it is questionable at all: Adamek is 6.2 with a very big bones set, he was looking a bit compressed at 175 and he doesn't look overcharged at 220. Hard work and eating tons of proteins can make wonders if you're doing it properly. I think that in that respect he's just a hard worker, not sure if he can win a world title while the Klitschko are there but I for sure would pit him against Haye any day of the week and expect him to win :)

Apologies if this offended you. I wasnt trying to start a race row. Ive got nothing against whites. I was just making the point the average black man tends to be more muscular than the average white man and its down to genetics. Its not very often you see someone as toned as Adamek. I've googled it . . . . . . . ..
If you consider that "muscle relies on genetics" than you have to consider the theory of evolution. Mainly those that are better fit for their role in life is able to survive. In the case of African Americans in America, those that have lineage tied in with slavery may genetically have an advantage in athleticism. During the time of slavery, slaves were treated in the likes of animals, those that were stronger and faster fetched a higher value. Push forward some years with some selective mating, and now you have a group of people genetically gifted in physical attributes.Well... that is not entirely true. Black men and White men typically have different muscle fibers used for different activities. Black Men tend to be faster which is good for sprinting, basketball, boxing, etc.

When a former beanpole of a fighter suddenly piles on the pounds and gets a physique that puts most body builders to shame, eyebrows are going to be raised. Personally I dont think theres been any foul play but I do think the heavyweight division better prepare for a shake up. Adameks coming!

Re: Adamek did really bulk up...From 175 to 222 pounds
I'm not offended I just don't think race is a valid point in this case is all.
