Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
Bradley vs Maidana Agreement Reached For June 19, HBO - Boxing News
By Rick Reeno
BoxingScene.com has been advised by several strong sources that an agreement was reached for Timothy Bradley (25-0, 11KOS) to defend his WBO junior welterweight title against Marcos Maidana (28-1, 27KOs), the WBA's interim-champion, on June 19 with HBO televising. The venue is being finalized and should be revealed in the next couple of days.
Bradley was originally scheduled to make his HBO debut against Luis Carlos Abregu in a welterweight contest, and Maidana appeared to be on course for a showdown with WBC champion Devon Alexander in August. Golden Boy Promotions and Bradley's promoter Gary Shaw were unavailable for comment.

Bradley opts out of Abregu fight. Bradley - Maidana is a done deal.
He is now fighting Maidana On June 19.
Much better fight for him.
You can find the news on boxingscene.

Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
Looking forward to this. I say Bradley takes a UD.
-
Re: Bradley opts out of Abregu fight. Bradley - Maidana is a done deal.
Bradley has an awful moustache, but I love him as a fighter. This will be a really good fight, but I think Bradley has too much all round skill for Maidana.
-
Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
Hard to bet against bradley but i can see Maidana putting Bradley down a time or two.....
-
Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
Just what Khan's camp was hoping for I guess, if Maidana loses then they can argue why bother fighting him?
I thught Bradley was fighting at 147 next anyway?
-
Re: Bradley opts out of Abregu fight. Bradley - Maidana is a done deal.
Great stuff. Bradley's getting on with the dominance.
-
Re: Bradley opts out of Abregu fight. Bradley - Maidana is a done deal.
Killer fight, I absolutely love it. Bradley has to be the heavy favorite, but that doesn't matter, plenty of punches will land from both sides. FOTY candidate, calling it now.

Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
Good for maidana he deserves this fight. Only problem is i see bradley having no problem with this guy at all. Maidana is too slow for bradley, and can punch really well but is either off or on with his defense. I like how so far bradley will fight damn near anyone.
-
Re: Bradley opts out of Abregu fight. Bradley - Maidana is a done deal.
Good to see him coming to his senses. Him going to 147 for a meaningless fight when there were still great fights at 140 was pretty damn stupid. I'm taking Maidana in a shoot out. His power will be the difference
-
Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
Yeah, Khan's people are happy about this because Bradley should win this one. If the Bradley who fought Peterson shows up then this will be a UD convincingly. Maidana will bring a competitive fight though. Nice fight.
-
Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
That's one thing I like about Bradley he fights any mofo in the division that's dangerous, unlike one of Freddie Roach's "champion" and I'm not talking about Pacquiao.

I don't see the logic behind taking this fight for Maidana. He has a more lucrative fight with Khan lined up in a fight or two and he choses to take a tougher fight with Bradley, which may take him out of the running for the Khan fight? Bradley, of course, like this fight. Bradley by dominating UD.

No he does not. Con was all set to vacate his title if a fight with Maidana was mandated. Con will never fight Maidana. Maidana is very well aware of the fear he strikes in Con. So he's accepted the fact that he will never fight him and has moved on.

Re: Bradley opts out of Abregu fight. Bradley - Maidana is a done deal.
Bradley is the man, credit to boxing!!
-
Re: Bradley opts out of Abregu fight. Bradley - Maidana is a done deal.
Bradley is hands down the hungriest and most driven fighter in boxing today
Witter
Cherry
Holt
Campbell
Peterson
and now Maidana all back to back, this is what champions are supposed to be doing

Oh hell that made me laugh out loud...... Funny as. I always imagine him as a bit of a preacher that could turn up at my door on a sunday afternoon and try get me down to the local congregation for a sing along.... I don't have anything against that kind of thing atall, but it would have given me a really nice wry smile to watch Abregu put him on his backside.

Re: Bradley opts out of Abregu fight. Bradley - Maidana is a done deal.
yep you got to respect Bradley for fighting the best out there, I think Maidana will be his toughest fight yet, hard one to call...

Con boy aint gonna fight Bradley or Alexander either.

Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
Timothy Bradley can be hurt, he was decked two times against Kendall Holt. And even though Timothy Bradley has improved, and has looked real good recently. I'd like to see if he's chin can withstand Marco Rene Maidana's power shots, good fight its about damn time.

Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
Nice fight, awesome news and Bradley must be given major respect for his run of top competition.Maidana is a serious threat and an inviting target,Bradley better be smart and resist going apeshit with right hands trying to out macho Maidana or he may very well tire out and be tko'd.He has all the improved assets to box Maidanas ears though.Love Bradley, and do not think he gets the respect he deserves but with a gun to my head, right now,I think Maidana gets him into that shoot out late and comes out the winner,in a frigging barn burner :fight: I'm cybil on this one ha.

Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
Bradley is the superior fighter, but he seems to like to brawl a bit and against Maidana that could get him into trouble. His activity level is going to leave opening for Maidana to hit him and with Maidana's power that could set the stage for an upset. Still, I'll take Bradley by wide UD (as in 118-110 wide).

He will probably fight the chump change guys after they've half-killed each other. Team Khan have the money and the sense ;)

Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
Maidana is not going to be difficult for Bradley to hit but if he walks through it all and he's still there after five or six rounds that's when he starts landing his big punches. Potential for a massive upset here but I'm going with Bradley.
-
Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
Bradley wins this easy. He may even stop Maidana

Wouldn't be an upset to me. Bradley ain't hard to hit.

Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
Bradley by UD but if Holt was able to drop Tim twice I will not be surpised by an upset. If it happens to be a firefight Maidana by kayo.

And if Maidana beats Bradley he becomes the man of the division and leap frogs Khan.

I have him ahead of Khan already, Khan ducking him was like giving him a walkover...

If Kotelnik can stay on his feet for twelve rounds Bradley can. If it wasn't for the Kotelnik fight (which I haven't seen) I'd probably pick Maidana.

From what I recall, Kotelnik fought a very defensive fight which allowed him to negate Maidana's main advantage and just basically tried to outbox him.. I saw it a long time ago, but I seem to remember Kotelnik using movement, defense, and a solid jab to beat Maidana. However, it was a very close fight and most people seem to feel Maidana won and I could be wrong in regards to the way I remember the fight.

That's how I remember it too, the ref played a pretty big role in not letting maidana get anything going. I had it 7-5 Maidana, so I can't say robbery, but I definately had him ahead on my card.

Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
I had the Maidana/Kotelnik fight a draw. I think Bradley will beat him with nice counters, but I wouldn't be surprised if Maidana drops him. This is a great fight. With the way he fights & who he chooses as opponents, Bradley makes it hard to dislike him. Thank god for that stupid pornstar mustache, his insistence of bringing up Jesus and the fact he whines on about how the world is against him whenever I read his interviews.

He's got more boxing skills though. He'll be able to do enough offensively to keep Maidana off him. I think. Although maybe Maidana is just going to bulldoze his way face first through the entire division. :)
If he does beat Bradley I actually hope he does keep going so he has to fight Khan.

Re: Bradley vs Maidana is a done deal for June 19, HBO
This is a good thing, I really didn't have all that much interest in the other fight with Abregu. Maidana is going to do his thing as long as he's in there, he can be hit but he isn't hard to hit. Still, there's always the chance that Bradley stands in front trying to add one more shot and allows Maidana the chance to load up. IMO the best way to beat Maidana is to limit yourself to being a selective one or two shot puncher like Kotelnik rather then try to blow him away with combinations like Ortiz did. Bradley has shown that he's become one of the best combination punchers in boxing lately but he might be better served on focusing more on negating Maidana.
