Roach: Floyd Mayweather vs Amir Khan Would Be Great - Boxing News
I'd like to see the fight especially if it was Across sea's that would be a way for Mayweather to make more money on ppv sales and it would sell. I think Mayweather would win and it would be nice fight money wise for him and it would be interesting enough. I mean who's Mayweather gonna fight?
apart from laughing at this I think Mayweather takes him apart in 1 round.
me 2 i think its mayweathers speed because it'll bring him more ppv money and an easy win for him. I cant even imagine who he fights next and who ever it is I bet it won't be anyone who has a real chance anyway.

I think its an easy fight for mayweather which is why I don't think it would be a great fight.
Floyd wins inside 3 for me to big and strong.Khan isnt that hard to hit even though his defence has improved but Paulie still hit him with left hooks early in there fight and Floyd will hit him till he drops and it wont take him long.
One minute people are wondering if he can even take a punch now he's a good fight for mayweather lol !! Is every fighter that wins a fight reguardless of weight or credability automatically in the running to be the guy who will beat him finally ??!!! Hell mid-as-well let prescott fight floyd too i guess. If there's a division filled with guys he can fight and probably not beat it's the one he's in. I doubt he'd beat bradley, i'd give him even less of a chance against alexander, and if maidana catches him ( which i will give khan credit cause i'm not so sure he would) who knows, that's really what all boxing fans are waiting to see about the guy right now.......... how well he can take a punch. Roach is beating khans own fans on silly-ness with this one. He'd better just hope by some miracle he can figure out a way for his top dog to beat floyd, khan will be doing good to even ever get ranked no 1 at Jr.welter.

Everyone would know it was a massive mismatch. If Mayweather didn't stop him within 3 rounds it would be a huge disappointment.
Could be quite interesting for 3/4 rounds, but even though Khan was quite impressive against Paulie I think he was a little one dimensional I suppose you could argue he was having so much success with how the plan was going that was fair enough, but after 4 rounds Floyd works him out and puts a beat down on him and takes a wide ud or stops him late.
I also watched the Khan/Paulie fight again this week and I thought Khan was to cautious in reality and if he pressed it more he could of stopped Paulie earlier and more emphatically, but overall it was a good performance.
Now I have also read that Khan and his team have offered Katsidis the fight and are waiting for there decision.
I said that I think it would be a hell of a fight because if Floyd knows its a good named fight that he could win he'll take it. Khan has a name which means ppv buys so whether he did it in Vegas or across sea's he makes big money either way. I've never for once said or thought khan would win. Floyds a business man not a fighter so thats what i'm thinking actually. If he fights over sea's everyone will want to see floyd pay for ppv and also with Khans fans you cant say it wont be a big money fight. And thats my point weather its in vegas or UK it has to make money.Quote:

Roach is delusional. Khan beats Malignaggi and now he is just the best thing since slice bread. If Mayweather doesn't fight Pac then he would be better off fighting Bradley or Berto. And I don't get how they keep pushing for a single elimination semifinals at 140 and their demanding the number 1 and number 2 guy fight each other first. In single elimination you seed the tournament. You can't jump to fight Maidana and then say now Bradley and Alexander have to beat each other up to face me. Maidana may be strong but they know Maidana is the easy one to outbox. Either way, I would credit Khan's heart for even testing his chin against Maidana.
I like Khan's attitude a lot you can tell he would fight anyone, but Roach seems to open his mouth a bit to often, Khan needs to settle down and sort his business out at 140 which I think he may struggle, Mayweather like I said earlier will have a 3/4 rounds of being cautious working Khan out then he would dominate him badly imo.Quote:

this seems to me to be a ploy. suggesting that khan would be a good fight for mayweather is like offering someone platinum (pac) then giving them copper (khan). clearly its an insult to mayweather.
Mayweather wouldn't stop him that early. Maybe a late stoppage.

I give Amir more credit than most here, through his due dilligence in prepariing for the big fights. His moves as of late, most especially his going over to train with Freddie, hints at a maturing and emerging dominant star in this sport!
This said match is not going to happen anytime soon anyway, as others have initially pointed out, so... again, it is one of those if scenarios that we love to discuss to death here at Saddo's.
This will be a competitive match 3 years from now, after Khan has proven himself against some other notable boxers and Mayweather is on the decline. Otherwise, it's a mismatch this year and the year after.
Mayweather would stop him within 6. A terrible mismatch, Mayweather actually packs a bit of a punch and with his speed he would land and fairly often. Khan would start quick, but wilt fairly quickly. A silly matchup.

Just to clarify, i thought Khan was very impressive against Paulie. He showed good movement,speed and combination punching. But we have to be honest with ourselves, I have nothing against Khan (im not english so I dont know about all the press he gets in england and reputation he has)....but he looked good against a guy that couldnt win. We all knew Paulie was going to get beat although alot of people were hoping for him to pull off an upset. Paulie is a light puncher with alright boxing ability and he faced a very well versed boxer in Khan who had nothing to fear. Dont forget Ricky Hatton looked great outboxing paulie and then got hammered against Pacman..why did he look great, coz he had nothing to fear.
Mayweathers power seems to get underrated around here yet everyone is happy to say that pacmans power comes from the fact hes so quick and you cant see his punches coming. Mayweather would land solidly in one round against Khan let alone over 12, what have we seen from Khan that can say he would be able to take mayweathers best for longer than one round?
I completely agree Snakey. I mean ffs, Mayweather had Shane Mosley, who has an ATG chin, buzzed by the 7th & 8th rounds and only his chin and heart kept him up. Yet somehow Amir Khan, marked up badly by Paulie last weekend, lasts till late or takes it to the cards??Quote:

Why is Roach talking up Khan vs. Mayweather?! Get your best fighter, Pac, to take the tests and we will have the biggest fight in recent times.
I don't see the challenge for Floyd. Maybe once Amir actually starts sitting down on his punches and changing up his rhythm better, but right now Mayweather woud figure him out in about a round, and after that it would be like Floyd-Mosley but Amir doesn't have the same chin. Honestly Amir is a pretty good fighter with great speed, but he lacks the finesse as a fighter, I have yet to see him be effective on the inside, nor do I see him give a lot of looks to an opponent. Floyd has proven that speed alone won't beat him, because
1) He is just as fast.
2) He has the skill to match that speed.
3) He disrupts your rhythm which means you don't really get to use your speed properly anyways.
