Floyd deserves more due to his PPV history but 60 - 40 is a bit to much. I say 55 - 45 make the fight hapopen.
yeah this is really getting old, Im nearly losing intrest in this fight now with all the bullshit.
Still think Floyd will win pretty easily if it ever happens, not sure it will happen though...
stupid Floyd with his demands and stupid PAC for been a drug using cheat :-\
I'm a PBF supporter. I think PacMan's ever-shigfting reasons to avoid Olympic style testing is suspicious and ultimately the reason the fight didn't occur earlier. PBF taking on SugarShane showed he had no fear, as Mosely is beter than anyone Pac ever fought at welter and perhaps at any divison.
But if PBF refuses to fight at 50-50, then he's the one ducking IMHO.
both of these guys are idiots, and frankly, i don't think either wants this fight. the only reason why i want this fight to happen is so that mayweather can abuse pacquiao and give him a nice little boxing lesson.
No way is this fight easy for either fighter.
They'll make this stupid fight. That's no in question one bit. As this crap is just games, hoopla, and different media people just plain ole making up shit. I'd be willing to bet both pac and floyd hear this stuff at the same time we do......by reading it online somewhere.
i agree with manju. the fact that pacquiao ducked a 37 year old mosley says volumes that pacquiao and his team have cherrypicked. funny that before mosley got humbled by mayweather jr., pacquiao and his team absolutely rejected a fight with mosley, even at 140 lbs. then, after mosley looked his age vs. floyd jr., then all of the sudden pacquiao, his team and his fans are slamming floyd as to why he faced an old fighter in mosley. the truth is this, pacquiao, does not like to take big risky chances. sure, he beat cotto but they made cotto fight at a catchweight. sure they beat de la hoya, but roach knew oscar would be very weight drained. sure they beat clottey but they knew clottey wasn't a very big puncher and even worse, wasn't a very busy fighter. the one guy who beat pacquiao emphatically was marquez and pacquiao RAN AWAY FROM A 3RD FIGHT! sorry pacquiao fans but the truth hurts!!1 :o
we have another pac hater here! a hater cannot finish a sentence without insulting pac or his fans.
jmm pac 3 didnt happened cause there is no money there. there are very few including you that really wants that fight. and even if that fight happens pac at his present weight will pretty much hurt jmm.
and talk about cherry picking pbf seems better at it imho.
some guy here suggested a 45/45 split and the remaining 10 goes to the winner. sounds good to me and that should happen on any big fights.
When PBF fought Mosley, Mosley was ranked higher P4P than Cotto was when he fought Pac. So yes, even though Cotto beat Mosely earlier, at the time of their respective fights, Mosely was better; most likely becasue Cotto was the victim of Margarito's plastering.
Indeed, its quite an irony that PBFs competition at welter significantly outweighs PacMans. Clotty was coming off a loss and even b/f that was not on a HoF trajectory, unlike Mosely. Cotto was never the same after being plastered, while Hatton and ODLH were already thoroughly dissected by PBF himself b/f Pac took them down, albeit in even more brutal fashion to be fair.
In contrast, future HoFer ODLH wasn't far past his prime--having only lost to a bigger BHop, arguably should've gotten the decison over a juiced future HoFer Mosely (not to mention Trinidad), and thouroghly KO'd Mayorga--b/f PBF dismantled him. Hatton was an undefeated P4Per when PBF destroyed him while JMM, still a P4Per, fought Pac to a draw b/f being thououghly outclassed by PBF. And then there's Mosely.
PBF has faced superior competiton in ecent ears.
It is silly, 50-50 or they should be both grounded:
What will make it a multi millions dollars fight is the fact that both are fighting each others, that's the mix that will generate tons of money, the slight more popularity one could have over the other at that point is not important. I trust Bob to make it happen though but this ego fight is just stupid, even if we all know it,s just to foam the promotion and make sure the fight keeps being in the collective imaginary in the meantime.
I dont see how you can blame the fight not happening on Pacquaio. Pac just wants a fair deal. Floyd is the one making two rediculous demands:
1 - Drug Testing - If Floyd really cares about the fight game he should be working with the athletic commissions to get their laws changed and not just demanding some testing that isnt standard in the pros.
2 - Money - The fight should be 50/50. Floyd is not the bigger draw and manny should not settle for less than 50/50. That is fair.
Once again Floyd is making himself look like a fool and ruining his own legacy. If he hadnt pissed away all of his money he wouldnt be so dam concerned about the extra 10%. Floyd will die broke, I can see it now.
fuck the both of them, with each and every corny report of drama like this i grow less and less interested in this fight
This is a bull shit thread!
The is no negotiation new at all from either side.
The writer, Pacquiao Rejects Bigger Revenue Split For Mayweather - Boxing News, has no source and doesn't even quote a source. It's just another hungry writer looking for attention.
This has been suggested many times before. Why don't they go 40/40 and the winner gets the remainder? I'm sure after they settle this issue... Floyd will bittch again about the glove size.
That would be "simply ridiculous" which is why I didn't say it. Nowhere did I mention ODHL was shot, nor did I give Pac "no credit." Indeed, I conceeded he beat ODLH "in even more brutal fashion" than did PBF.
But I was comparing PBFs competion to PacMans. The de la Hoya he fought was younger, was in a more inconveinient weighclasss, was also bigger than PBF, had only been thorughly beaten by B-Hop at middle, and was coming off a rather brutal KO of Mayorga, as oppossed to a UD against Forbes following a schooling at the hands of PBF himself.
I'm not disparaging PacMans competion, only pointing out that those who disparage PBFs, are at a loss to explain how Pacman's choices are so much braver. After all, he never fought the best welter out there (besides him and PBF) and fought 2 fighters who already had been beaten thouroughly by PBF himself. Those guys weren't shot. Thats good competition. But if thats good, then what is PBFs?
both guys deserve equal blame, and as it's been said there is no official word coming from each camp, it's all hearsay, and no Pacquiao doesn't deserve as much credit for the DLH fight, especially given Roach's comments as to why they took the fight, if your own trainer is saying you only fought the dude cause he knew he was shot, well why the fuck should anyone glorify it?
Good for him.Thats a slap in the face for any fighter on these guys level. These two need a dose of humility and come off the thrones though....makes fans tired and either piss or get off the pot.So many quality fights and fighters go by the wayside while waiting on this theatrical bs.
Sort out the egos and one upping between the ropes.
The fight should be 50 / 50 or as I read in a previous threat 40 / 40, and the winner takes the rest. This sh... is really getting bored, get an agreement or fight other boxer or retire. After all this I hope that if they fight it is not a boring fight as I am starting to suspect it could be. I just hope the agreement is not reached at age of 40 when someone may be broke and figting to pay delayed bills.
If anyone its floyd thats ducking the fight, hes the one making the ridiculous demands manny is just rejecting them, now if it was manny making stupid demands and floyd rejecting them then it would be manny ducking the fight, but its not, i dont get how anyone can convince them selves any different. the fact is i doubt floyd would miss the 10% more than he would miss the full purse if he fucks up this fight which it seems hes running the risk of doing, hmm.. funny that, money mayweather is willing to risk a purse as big as this when all he claims to care about is the money, this suggests he doesnt care too much about the money anyway, but if he doesnt care about the money then why would he demand he gets 20% more than manny? hmm, funny that  at the end of the day if he doesnt take this fight his legacy is ruined he knows this, the money that hes arguing over is peanuts to him he knows this, but despite all of this hes still making these ridiculous demands and risking tarnashing his legacy at this point after everything hes achieved in boxing, i see no logic in this, just fear tbh, for the record im not a fan of pac or mayweather im just sick of hearing about this fight so thought i would add my opinion, personally i hope he keeps pricing himself out as it wont be too long until hes past it anyway and then hell regret being so greedy.
No they don't. The blame falls directly at the feet of Manny Pacquiao. You don't turn down a deal than come back a couple of months later and try and accept the same deal. It don't work that way. Why the fuck didn't you take it the first time it was offered? I see they got to you. Fucking Pac groupie
yea that's me , fuck both Pacquiao and Mayweather, i honestly don't give a shit if the fight gets made, all this gay drama and bullshit basically killed any interest i had in this fight, there are plenty of big fights that can be made that don't involve these two divas, after Lopez beats Concepcion bring on R. Marquez Vs. Lopez
I'm as pissed as anyone about Pac throwing in the Mayweather fight, but I gotta call most of your post as total crap!
(1) Pac fought Hatton then Cotto then Joshua Clottey... All very worthy opponents who by anyones measure prior to the fight, would be a great challenge for Pac.. So it's silly to suggest he took these "easier" fights to deliberately avoid Mosley... And the only time Pac was free to look for an opponent, Mosley was booked to fight Mayweather (both GBP fighters so that fight was always going to happen easier that Pac vs Mosley)..
(2) I'd challenge you to point to even ONE example of ANYONE saying Mayweather was weak or being a pussy for taking on an "old" Mosley.. Mosley was incredibly respected before that fight, and still is after... He's not an old, slow, useless fighter.. Mayweather just made him look that way.... BUT I havn't seen a SINGLE person, Pac supporter or otherwise, try to take ANY credit from Mayweather for beating Mosley....
(Anyone who actually did though is just using the same ignorant observation as you)
(3) They are not calling him the modern day Henry Armstrong for nothing... The weights that he has moved up in is extraordinary for any fighter in any era... He has fought some of the most respect fighters in every single division he's ever fought in. Aside from Hatton's loss to Mayweather, he was still a very feared and solid Jr Welter who many believed would be to big for Pac... A year or two earlier people would even say a fight between them would be ridiculous... Cotto again, lost to Margarito and appeared to have lost a bit, but he's still an incredibly strong and talented fighter who will still beat 95% of opponents in his weight class.. But that fight was just a given walkover wasn't it? No risk at all...
In hindsight it's easy to say these opponents were cherrypicked or 2 pounds put the entire thing in Pac's favour, but this is almost blind ignorance...
(4) Roach probably had good reason to suspect Oscar would be weight drained and have no pop in his punches, but other experts like Manny Stewart expected DLH to weigh close to 158 pounds that fight... Which could have been possible.. But no, there was no risk for a guy who'd just fought at 135, to fight at 147 pounds in his next fight... was there?
(5) I'm just wondering if you realise by this point that to discredit Pac, you have to discredit every VERY well respected fighter he's fought.... It is a really really stupid way of taking credit away from someone who has achieved something no one else done... Yes Clottey was a relatively easy match for Pac because of his low output,,, but he is one of the more respected Welterweights for a reason... Yes Pac was favourite, but which other fight would you have had him take on that notice? And Clottey may go on to be a really great champ... He is by no means a given opponent for anyone... and to say so just to discredit Pac is silly.
(6) You say Marquez beat Pac as if it's a god given fact.. It's your opinion... The fights were close, and many people do share your OPINION. No arguement there. But they have fought TWICE, which is TWO more times than many great fighters have met each other... and pac didn't exactly run and hide after those fights... He moved up a bunch of weight divisions fighting some of the most respected fighters in those divisions... Is he supposed to live the whole rest of his boxing life in the ring with Marquez (Like Vasquez/Raffa) just to satisfy the people who thought Pac lost? What if he won a close controversial third fight? Would you say he's running because he won't do a 4th? He is a fighter who moved on to bigger and better things. He had big ambition and moved on, and unfortunately, sometimes close fights cause controversy over the winner, but Pac wasn't being a pussy or cherrypicking or running because he'd been in the ring with Marquez twice, and wants to achieve SOMETHING ELSE, and went on to do it!! It would have been a let down of his talent and potential to NOT move on..
The real fact is,, :
MANY MANY MANY MANY boxing experts and fans who ARN'T biased one little bit, are in complete awe of what Manny Pacqiao has achieved in boxing... He is incredibly exciting, very talented, comes from a unique background where few people even get a chance to become successful at anything, he for the most part is a likeable person, he HAS taken risks with his career, he's done HARD HARD 12 round fights with some of the toughest fighters the boxing ring has ever seen, and he is STILL trying to carve his was into the record books by achieving things that some experts wouldn't have dreamed possible for a single fighter to achieve...
Yet you with your one paragraph full of points discrediting him, finish up with
(7) "sorry pacquiao fans but the truth hurts!!"
What truth is that I really must ask????
That you are completely ignorant and choose to be that way simple because you dislike Manny and somehow thing discrediting everything he's ever done or everyone he's fought, will make a "truth" that says everyone is delusional for appreciating what he has done?? :-\ I feel sorry for the fact your hate makes you miss appreciating a part of what makes boxing such an exciting sport...
YES, Pac has let a lot of fans down by not taking this fight with Mayweather.. He's even lost a lot of respect from his avid supporters,,,,, me included.... It is a really unfortunate circumstance this Mayweather fight negotiation and you can't say much more than the fact it's let people down..
Even "Pachuggers" aren't denying that..
But you are just posting really without thinking at all, or so it would appear... You need to just take a deep breath, and actually read what you are typing before posting it..... We have some very intelligent people here who don't just buy into hype,,, they have a deep appreciation for boxing and everyone who makes it what it is.... And it doesn't take most guys here many posts to tell the difference between intelligent observation, and hateful nonsense...
I have been a real fan of your posts, but you really need to go back and have a read of this one and what you are trying to argue.... And perhaps where it's coming from..
only read the thread title, if it's true then Pac is a complete tool.
What really shocks me here is people who ignore logic! he who sells more has every right to ask for more.
LOL I have wasted much more time on much less.. No stress here..
I respect anyone who has enough passion regarding boxing to join a boxing forum and post on it regularly... But sometimes people can get in a certain mindset about something, and unless someone can get through to them and snap them out of it, then it will just continue on....
It is not the first, and definitely won't be the last post that disagrees with me... But I never mean anything against anyone personally when I post back... It's still just my opinion vs theirs and they can take it or leave it, if he is open minded or if he believes in his post regarding Pac, he's entitled to either..
jolz,
now let me explain some of the misconceptions you have about me! first of all, i don't hate manny pacquiao. in fact, i look at him as an honorable man, who is decent, caring but most of all, someone who likes helping people less fortunate than himself. however, as much as he's accomplished, and he's accomplished a lot, i think he's been glorified way too much as some kind of this immortal boxing great by his worshipping fans. sure he's had a nice run and he's beaten big names like morales, barrera, de la hoya, cotto, hatton etc...but when he beat these big names, they were no where near their primes anymore. especially morales and de la hoya. barrera?
i think he would have beaten him just as bad in barrera's prime so there's no contention there. but a maybe, 70% morales goes in there, and gives him a good boxing lesson, this after coming off a loss to barrera in a very exhausting trilogy? and you will never be able to convince me or 80% of boxing fans that he beat marquez. now, marquez was man enough to give pacquiao a title shot at super feather and when pacquiao got his little gift from the judges, he should have been man enough to return the favor but the way he ducked that third match and went right after david diaz, will always leave a sour taste in my mouth.
how can you call him a #5 ATG, like most of your kababayan, when he absolutely ignores one great fighter to cherry pick a very weak lightweight titlist in diaz? this after everyone and their grandma was calling him out! you've got to admit, that was chicken shit on his part. and speaking of ATG status, do you actually think he's at #5 ATG? just because he's beaten an old and dangerously weight drained, oscar, destroyed an on the downhill hatton, fought for a world title at a catchweight vs. cotto, and now, simply will not take a blood test for PED's, he's rated up there with the immortals of boxing? come on, i know you're probably a decent and somewhat intelligent guy but seems to me you can be easily fooled or manipulated into believing outrageous things. and if this mayweather fight doesn't happen, i understand paul williams is coming down to welterweight just so that he can fight pacquiao. is packy going to duck him too? or if he fights cotto for cotto's new jr. middleweight title, is he going to demand to fight at a catchweight? but the thing
but the thing what made me dislike pacquiao was his incredibly stupid fans. you'll got to admit, some of those nuthuggers wrote the book on hugging pacquiao's man-plums. it's just incredible how these people can worship this cat and at the same time try to discredit others. it seems as if they've got tunnel vision for just this one guy. i mean, i know he's the only viable boxing to come from the philippines since pancho villa (flash elorde was vastly overrated), but this is just ridiculous!
