All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
Anyone heard anything ?? Anything at all ??
I really would have expected Haye to announce another fight by now but apart from Audley rumours (rubbished by himself) and the fact Klitschkos are looking elsewhere have not heard a thing.
For a guy not wanting to fight beyond 31 he certainly don't seem in any rush to me....
-
Klitschko's "looking somewhere else"? Wlad-Povetkin is signed and will happen in September and Vitali is STILL trying to land a Valuev fight.
Chicken Little looks mighty bad right now and unless he's able to fight Adamek I'm not interested in anything that dude does.
-
Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
Haye chickened out on a completely 50:50 offer. He should stay quiet as there isn't really much he can say after that. Unless he wants to finally announce the bonanza Audley Harrison showdown. :chick07mj8:
-
Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
-
Who's out there that is a worthwhile fight for him? He's obviously not up for fighting Wlad or Vitali, who is left?
Sam Peter? Ruslan Chagaev? Or are we going the Harrison route and will we eventually see Shannon Briggs getting a title shot?
If he even fought Lyakhovich I'd say that's a step in the right direction towards preparing to fight Wladimir.
The guy will continue to be a joke until he fights Wladimir or comes clean and says "I never wanted that fight to begin with and only did all that stuff for publicity".
-
Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
adamek will get to fight any of the klits before haye, as the only thing that does the talking is his fists.
I was a massive haye fan when he was a cruiser but the strap has gone to his head, only tv progam he aint been on know is through the keyhole.
Like someone on here once said haye talks about fighting a lot more than actually fighting. All this said and done i would love to see Haye-Adamek.

What does the radio loud mouth have to say about this? Also the manager of Chicken Little, how are they selling this?

Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
Quiet is good....not cause i don't like haye, but its fun to see him fight, not listen to him talk. And he talks waaaayyyy more than he fights.
-
Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
You just simply cannot talk all of that crap and then not back it up.Time to piss or get off the pot.
-
Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
Haye talked himself out of every possible matchup outside of Mandatories in a promotional standpoint...No one wants to see him fight anyone but the Brothers Grimm...He spent too much time talking trash, pursuing them, following them in public making shirts etc....
He does not fight them he loses tons of supporters....He fights a lesser guy and has problems and he loses any interest he may have peaked for a Klitschko showdown because the brothers have walked over everyone in the division these last few years and if Haye can not do so as well no one will believe he can beat the Brothers or pay to see him try...At best the interest will go to how long can he last and that is IF anyone cares by then....
Like Spicoli said either "Shit or get off the pot"......Haye should have made sure he was ready to shit before he jumped on the pot
-
Where's Lefty? I wonder if he's proud of his buddy.
Let's assume a Klitschko fight doesn't happen anytime in the future...is Chicken Little the 3rd best heavyweight or are there fighters out there that could pick him off? I think Sam Peter (if he continues to come to fight in shape) would give the Chicken a good hard fight, Chagaev is durable enough but probably a little too slow, there are a lot of guys that I think could hurt the guy but I'm not sure how many can finish the job or land consistently on him.
-
Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
From what I've read the problem seems to stem from all of the people that are eating into Hayes pot.
Because technically Valuev is due a rematch, Sauderland have a stake in his next fights and by the sounds of it so do many other people.
There is also the Germany or England dispute which makes hell of a difference to what each fighter gets.
Haye has to fight a Klitscho next or face being the laughing stock of the boxing world. I have a feeling he wants Vitali and not Wlad, hence the delays when Wlad came asking.
-
Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
Haye needs to put up or shut up. He should be quiet now. Because nothing he is doing or could be doing would merit any press at all.
How ridiculous will Haye look if Adamek fights one of the KBros before him?
You have to respect the Klitschko's. They are cleaning house in their division. Say what you want about it, but they are fighting every single top ten heavyweight. Vlad is fighting Povetkin after fighting Chambers. That is a ton more than Haye can say.

He would be hard-pressed to look more ridiculous at this point.

Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
When haye first won the wba strap it was a breath of fresh ir to HW boxing but now he has got to back it up in the ring.
If he does not fight the Klit boys then there are not many other interesting HWs out there.
I am sure our David will come good in the end and make the klit fight happen.:p
-
Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
Its hard to support Haye when he doesn't take the fights we all want to see, and is very inactive with a big time period between fights but still! He's English and makes fun fights so im still a fan! :)

Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
From the short piece posted earlier in the thread: "Haye earns as much money in the UK as the Klitschkos earn in Germany. Therefore, that makes reaching a deal much more difficult. We have to insist on a sensible financial agreement."
So, sensible means more than 50% against the guy who is regarded as THE heavyweight champ and who has beaten everyone else in the division. Haye is looking to coast along cashing out whilst avoiding the Klits until the very end. Pathetic really.
-
Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
Haye apparently has figured out that it would be best to make some money first in winnable fights before he cashes himself out against Wlad. Its a fair enough business decision but he's quickly gone from the heavyweight divisions last real hope to a full on bore.

Does Haye really sell out 60k stadiums in the UK, the way the Klitchskos do in Germany? If so, I need to find those people because I have some prime real estate (it just looks like a swamp) I would like to sell them.
-
All I have to say to the supporters of Chicken Little is "What would Frank Bruno do?" If Bruno was in his prime and had the WBA belt, what would he do?

Kind of ironic isn't it considering the so called reasons he avoided Vit last summer was the future commitments they were imposing. Imagine that, getting offered a huge fight with one of the top two followed by two more huge fights if he wins, or stuck fighting Valuev twice, Ruiz then Audrey as a voluntary ;D;D;D
There's no way he can improve his bargaining position from where he is, his career could end with a whimper

Totally agree. What a charade and what a clown. All that talk only to get out of a fight not only once but 3 times now. First he was fighting Wlad, then he was fighting Vitali and now he has been offered an equal deal offer and goes and turns his nose up.
Totally lame. I'm sure him and Khan are texting each other career advice. Bunch of careerist gits!

Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
Actually. I think he never really wanted to fight any of the two, just wanted to be heard about and to make a name for himself in any way possible, now he'll go with the few HW he can beat and will run off with the money. I am almost certain at this point that he wouldn't even dare to fight a Thomasz Adamek.

Which is probably exactly what will happen.
The sad thing is, if he had got his shot at Valuev, then said he wanted to defend it a few times before taking on the big K's, no one would have minded. We would have probably understood his reasoning.
But because he has continued to call them out, he just look weak now.
I actually think he would make a fool of Vitali so I don't know why he can't set that fight up.
Do boxers actually give a shit about their legacy anymore or is it soley about cashing up as much as possible? I understand it's a short career, but you would think you would fight for free to have a chance of fighting the best there is and being undisputed world heavy champ??

Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
I think Haye will fight a credible opponent like Adamek.

I watched the Haye vs Valuev fight again the other day (somehow managed to stay awake again)
I forgot all about Valuev's ring entrance. What the fuck was all that about? He had his own mini rock concert before coming out!
Just wanted to bring that back up again!

And I mean that "EVENTUALLY Chicken Little will fight someone like Adamek" ...but didn't he have that chance at cruiser???
I think Chicken Little MAY end up fighting someone more along the lines of Odlanier Solis (who's shape is coming into question), David Tua, or (depending on his fight vs Wladimir) Povetkin....maybe Eddie Chambers. I think he's a lot like Ricky Hatton, he wants big money but wants to avoid Cotto at all costs.

Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
Some of you guys are speaking like Haye has been out the ring for 5 years.
David Haye is the best thing to hit the HW division since Lennox Lewis retired.
Everybody for years and years has asked for an exciting HW fighter. One finally comes along, wins a title and gets a shitload of hate. The divison would be a lot worse without him. And even the haters deep down will admit that. Sure he's got a big mouth, and he aint afraid to use it. But he backs up his talk in the ring by his performances.
If anything he's got the whole world talking about the HW division once again.
So give the fukking guy a break and enjoy him while he's here, its a breath of fresh air from the other champion (No name mentioned) who plods round for 12 rounds using his left jab to reach a boring points decision. Haye is all out attack.
Soon enough he'll be retired on top of the world.
-
Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
I agree with everything you said with a few exceptions:
- Haye is not the best thing to happen to the HW division since Lewis
- The division would be no worse without him
- Haye doesnt back up his talk
- He hasnt breathed shit into the division
I definitely think the whole world is talking about him though, about how big a snatch he is.;D
-
Lefty, I gave that dude a chance 2 years worth of a chance. Surely I talked my fair share of shit about him but in that time he cannot be found fighting anyone dangerous at cruiserweight or elsewhere! He has talked all he can but even you must certainly realize that he's ducking both Klitschko's and that he has not yet fought ANYONE with any power in the division.

Re: All Quiet on the David Haye Front.....
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhhhhhhhhh!
When ever I read these david haye threads in my head it all get's translated in to the sound of a baby crying it's eyes out......
It's simple. Haye is champ and he's not going to be dictated to. Haye is propbably the biggest draw in heavyweight boxing especially now HBO have dropped the bum fighting klitschos' saying the the only fight of their's that they will televise is one with haye. This changes things in a big way, especially when it comes to fight payment and negotiation.
-
I believe someone already asked about how many big stadiums the Diva has sold out...Wlad put 50K in the stadium when he fought Eddie Chambers so let's not act like Chicken Little is the big money draw of the division right now Chicken Little is as big as he can get without fighting a Klitschko or Adamek and its looking like he won't ever fight those guys and if you're a fan of Chicken Little I don't see how you can defend his actions. He's made a name for himself by talking shit and running away and that's what you want in a heavyweight champion?
HBO is only bothered by the Klitschko's fighting in Europe which makes the tv schedule difficult to deal with. Ross Greenburg said "If they have big fights in the US or the fights fans want to see most (vs the Diva or Adamek) HBO will pick them up"...is Chicken Little vs Audley Harrison going to be on HBO? Was the fight vs Barrett? Bonin? Valuev? Ruiz?.....then I rest my case

Would klitscho vs audly harrison be on HBO? no it wouldn't. what about klit vs barrett or bonnin or valuev?
Sorry what was you point again? Cuz that held as much water as a siv.
Haye hasn't announced his next fight yet so I don't have to defend his actions. all you're doing lyle other than whining and bawling like a little baby is speculating.

Vlad has been the reigning heavyweight champion for how many years? And he offered Haye 50/50 with no rematch clause. Enough said. Haye has talked enormous amounts of shite about Vlad and Vitali. Like I've said before, it would be one thing if Haye never spoke of the Klitschko's and took his time quietly moving up the heavyweight rankings, but to essentially make a name for himself off of their reputations and then to be offered the best possible offer and fail to respond. Well, there is no way to look at that other than that is a b*tch move.
-
#1 Just read that Bernd Boente said that Wlad is so pissed with HBO that he won't fight on their channel ever again.
#2 I'm sorry allow me to explain, in recent years The Klitschko's have had the biggest heavyweight fights on HBO a network I might add that has only shown YOUR BOY in 1 promo.
#3 If Chicken Little won't fight: The Klitschko's, Adamek, or even Sam Peter, and Povetkin then who the hell cares about the guy? The Audley Harrison fight may not be signed yet but it may as well be because the dude won't fight anyone worth a damn.

It changes nothing, especially if Haye is unwilling to fight anyone worth fighting. He's had a very decent offer on his table and turned the other cheek. Nothing but a careerist poser looking for a paycheck against easy pickings.
Haye had every opportunity to try and make himself a name worth respecting and instead he has everyone doing this  and saying this :chick07mj8:.
