Now Floyd Apologizes for his rant against Pacman...
This guy really needs to see a shrink for a bi-polar diagnosis.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. apologizes for Manny Pacquiao rant, says he was 'just having fun' - ESPN
"I love everybody," Mayweather said. "Some of my guys are Muslim. Some of my guys are Jews. Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Mexicans, white, it doesn't matter. There's nothing but love in my heart, you know what I'm saying? So I heard this from a few people. The only thing I want to say is, if anybody who was affected by what I said the other day, I apologize as a man. I apologize.
"Forgive me for saying what I said. I was just having fun. I didn't really mean it. Nothing in a bad way. So let's stay on this roller-coaster ride and keep riding, baby. It's all love."

Re: Now Floyd Apologizes for his rant against Pacman...
His " people " have told him to do this no big deal new it would come, we know his true feelings.

Floyd is a product of the diseased racist backbone of the US. Its the mentality of some of the ignorant black Americans that believe they can be racist against everyone else then scream foul when its reciprocated. Such BHOP's "white boy" comment.
And before anyone starts with the nonsense about my "ignorant black Americans" remarks citing it as racist, well let's just say in America I'd be lumped together with Floyd not because of being a like mind, but because of the hue my skin.

Re: Now Floyd Apologizes for his rant against Pacman...
That's good Floyd. But I don't think people are buying it.
You were just having fun?.. That's your fucking excuse?
Oh so, if I call someone a ... and follow up with more insults... and apologizes the next day...
Then everything will be alright. Right? :-\
Hey, it's no biggie. I was just having fun.

Floyd's team promotes fights with the belief that if he were white he'd be making double for the fights he participates in, but since he isn't they choose to make him the villian i.e. Mike Tyson after he got with Don King who is one of the best promoters in history because he understood that America will always be a racist society.
See the film "Great White Hype" for a funny but very accurate look at the boxing promotion world.

Re: Now Floyd Apologizes for his rant against Pacman...
okay, so mayweather jr. has issued an apology. at least he was man enough to apology for the stupid things he said. what he said was bad and uncalled for but his comments weren't nearly as racists as what he's been called by hoards of pacquiao fans, and i haven't read an apology from not one of his fans. in fact, pacquiao's fans have not only been saying racists things about mayweather jr. but about all blacks as well. let's stop the hypocrisy and give mayweather jr. just a little credit for manning up and issuing that apology.

...or he just issued an apology due to the backlash of his actions, pretty much the same shit that happened with Berto when he made jokes about the Valero situation

I saw that video last night and my first thought was "is he on ecstasy?"

Do you happen know any of those Pacquiao fans? Are they asians, white, latino? How do you know for sure that they're not Mayweather fans giving Manny or his fans some bad reps? Have you actually seen them?
I'll tell you what I saw. I saw Floyd Mayweather Jr on UStream making racist comments.
What about you? What do you got? Where's your proof?

Re: Now Floyd Apologizes for his rant against Pacman...
Could have saved some time and went with "I put my foot in my mouth and spoke outta my ass...I apologize" done. Instead he turns it into something out of a Oscar movie night thank you speech thanking everyone from his babies,Dana white for shits sake ??? and could have sworn I heard the Popes name in there.
What a utter and complete clown.

Re: Now Floyd Apologizes for his rant against Pacman...
Floyd Jr is a saint compare to what Adam Carrola have said. ;D
But sincere or not, they've both apologized.
Time to let go.
...I guess.

I usually associate drama queens to teenage girls, but Floyd's the counterexample to that notion. Even though he's a spectacular boxer, he sure is one hell of a diva.

He was definitely under the influence of something. You know what can happen when you and bunch of your friends hang out and substances are being ingested. This is how "you know what would be funny" stories begin.

Re: Now Floyd Apologizes for his rant against Pacman...
If you can't talk about this sort of stuff without bringing using racial slurs then don't fucking post in these threads.

For fuckssake, nobody one here - Pacfan or otherwise - has been posting that kind of shit. In fact, you seen determined to bring up as many anti-black racial slurs as you can in these threads.
People post all kinds of racist shit all over the internet, it's not confined to one race or one group of boxing fans .

Re: Now Floyd Apologizes for his rant against Pacman...
He does seem to be trying to cover his arse also with his glam rock power shades, paying respect to Elton John ??? What a sport.
-
Re: Now Floyd Apologizes for his rant against Pacman...
He's a genius inside the boxing ring, far from one outside of it. His handlers probably saw the video and now are trying to do some damage control. As rare as it is for espn to report on boxing, they did report on this rant. Well, maybe he is a genius outside the ring as well, knowing this would gather publicity...Either way the comments are just plain stupid and hateful.

Re: Now Floyd Apologizes for his rant against Pacman...
Instead of just fighting Pacquiao with fists, Mayweather Jr. instead, fought with his mouth. Arguably equal to contest with Pacquiao the title of boxing's best pound for pound fighter, Floyd Jr. unwittingly resorted to racial slurs and rants only people with a questioned sense of decency will approve of. And equally the apology thereafter, re-affirmed the absence of remorse whatsoever for his previous offending remarks.
He has suddenly dug himself a very deep hole, one that seem the only way out is a quick but decisively a clear and sincere public apology. In and out, be a man!
Sadly, this may be a distinct possibility when it is from a Floyd Jr., for it takes a man to do such, and all he's done so far, are all but childish acts.

Could you back up this accusation? Could you post some links so that we know that you are not making things up?

i don't need to back up these accusations. they (racial insults) are all over the internet! just gotta go find them!

I guess the operative word here is "FANS". Whatever the case may be, Pacquiao himself hasn't said anything stupid, unlike Floyd, who makes a career out of this. In court, your argument would be disallowed, and Floyd would be convicted on being a class-A idiot.
-
Re: Now Floyd Apologizes for his rant against Pacman...
you're right! mayweather jr. is an absolute idiot to say those racist things but i believe so are pacquiao's fans. everyone knows pacquiao is an absolute class act. maybe his fans should learn a little bit humility like their idol.

I think this whole racist thing is being taking way out of proportion and context. Why is there such a big need to call foul on racism, and not other discriminatory remarks? It seems hypocritical to me that everything else is fair game, but racism is where people draw the line. I don't think racism should be condoned, but why aren't criticizing people for other derogatory remarks? I don't think Mayweather is actually racist, he just probably got carried away in the moment, and thought he was funny. He obviously wasn't, but that doesn't mean he has some hatred towards asian people. That's where I think the line should be drawn. When something is said in jest I don't think people should take as personally as when something is said in hatred. I am just surprised people on here are getting so worked about this. It's like Jimmy the greek talking about how he felt black people were better athletes, and everyone flipped out about it. I think its ridiculous that people are so anal about any mention of ethnicity. It's people who draw those lines that segragate us as people. Honestly to me, there are differences between every person from one to the next, a difference in skin color doesn't really make me think somebody is any more different than another person based on height. Obviously you have to be cogniscent of people's cultures, but to focus so specifically on race makes me wonder why you are so hung up on the whole racial thing. I guess maybe here in Canada we don't deal with the same issues that people have elsewhere.

And BECAUSE you don't have to deal with these issues, you don't understand why people get so worked up about it. Understandable I guess. It doesn't make it any less wrong, however. Racism equals ignorant dislike, so it's wrong. And indefensible. Floyd is an idiot, by any yardstick used to measure idiotism. To say otherwise is to turn a blind eye to what he does. He's an adult, for crying out loud. Where does he get off thinking that because he's Floyd "Pretty Boy" Mayweather he can get away with all the ignorant, childish things he says and does? Because his fans think he walks on water? Wrong. He needs to grow up and act like a professional. There's plenty of fighters out there who don't resort to this sort of crap to get attention.
