PAC deserve those props IMO
Its easy to pick of any fighters resume, Im sure 50% of the forum members can easily downplay any fighter's resume including Pac's. But please let me say these.
1st
Let us remind ourselves that Pac doesnt have the luxury of getting any fighter that he wants (Excluding Floyd) early in his career.
He's looking to annihilate the very best.
The biggest names were big names at the time for a reason. In 2003-2004 Morales, Barrera and Marquez were not just the 3 biggest recognizable name in the featherweight division. the y were the 3 TOP DOGS in terms of everything.
-Barrera was on HOT HOT Streak that #3 p4p was the least rank you'd see him
-Morales practically schooled IBF Champ Hernandez and had a courageous but still clear victory againts WBA Champ Jesus Chavez
-Marquez scared Gainer away, That's how good he is :)
Pacquiao did not blow away these 3 GREAT Mexicans. He only went 1-1-1 against them.
But he did take them on in a span of 15 months. Yes just 15 months :o.
Its like some Cruiserweight climbing up and taking on Evander Hoylfield, Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis
or some Light welter moving up to Welterweight and taking on Mosley, Margarito and Cotto in 2007-2008.
It doesn't also hurt that after 1-1-1 he went 4-0 againts the 3 Greats ;).
2nd
Starting the Diaz fight. Pacquiao wasnt fighting the same way. :) If you have watched Pac before you would notice this. He's looking for the KO from the opening bell. In the Diaz fight he showed great composure along with the improved right hook.
and look at the last 5 fighters that he fought and totally dominated DelaHoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito. These fighters were natural Welterweights that has or had titles and was also ranked at the very TOP and here comes Pacquiao blowing them away.
We can agree to ignore the 8th title but we also have to ignore SRL 's Lightheavyweight title fought at a catch weight of 166lbs. Out the 8. Only Diaz and Margarito weren't in serious consideration for being the best of the division. While Sasakul, Barrera, Marquez and Hatton were universally recognized as the best of the division.
After retirement PAC will be ranked very very high all time.

What can you do about it? its FACT that people ignore. I 'll give you the benefit of the doubt that we'll hate it also if the fighters we love were on the other side.
what about the PEDS? you wanna go in circles?

Re: PAC deserve those props IMO
You can pick at both Floyds and Manny's resumes. The timing of certain opponents is questionable as we all know that a fighter is seldom the same after a brutal stoppage and then to go in with Manny? And with a catchweight? Not wise.
Still, as a fighter you can't argue with the tools that he displays. I think he would stop Marquez at 140 right now. He has got better and is clearly stronger whilst maintaining that speed. I love Marquez and think he won the second fight, but Pac has moved beyond.

I agree partially. Most of the criticism were made post fight. like with dlh, Hatton, etc.
Actually that dude Killersheep has a point, these things are getting tiring. maybe its better if we're debating on who actually won instead of weighing legacies ;D

Hesiquio Balderas of BoxingScene.com quotes
MAB, Marco Antonio Barrera...
''Manny Pacquiao is the best fighter in the world. Usually a good big man will always beat a good little man, but Pacquiao is a great little man. It is amazing how he can go up in weight and beat all of these huge guys,'' said the former three time world champion Barrera.
''I wanted Margarito to win. I mean my heart was with him and I thought he had a pretty good chance, but after Pacquiao cut him - I knew it was over. Manny is a gentleman, because he had Tony hurt in the 10th round and he could have finish him, but he let Tony survive. He showed his class and that is why he is the best. I am not ashamed to be on his list of victims because he is great,'' Barrera concluded.

pac will get props from me when.....
He stops being given 'vacant belts'
Stops fighting at catch weights to his advantage
Stops trying to weight drain opponants
Takes a steroid test
Stops fighting shot/damaged/past it/josh clottey average fighters
He will get massive props from me if he does that.

Marco Antonio Barrera had been in the ring and had gone through a lot of wars in a ring. Had anyone in this forum done anything even comparable to what Barrera did? If yes, then maybe you can criticize him. If not, then who are we to say that.

Nope that '8th belt' was given to him. Margarito wasn't a champ, or a number one contender or top of the division, it was for a vacant title, plus it was at a catch weight. It wasn't at the light middle weight limit. To me that 8th title in the 8th weight class is completely fictitious.
Miguel Cotto was fought at 145 pounds. That's not welter weight!
It's all bullshit.

How so sunshine? You obviously didn't read my reply. I suppose though with all things Pacquiao ignorence is bliss.
It's not like he came up with any kind of arguement to show or prove me wrong, cuz let's face it. Those are facts. All he did was throw his little rattle out of the pram because he couldn't argue the point.
Amusing to say the least.

Re: PAC deserve those props IMO
Here's an interesting pac fact for you all
7 out of Pacs last 8 opponants had lost at least one of there previous 5 bouts. The exception being David Diaz who had 4 wins and a draw in his last 5.

This idiotic fact could be said about 95% of the current boxers and doesn't mean that one didn't face strong opposition.

A fact is a fact. No need to be a baby a bout it. Here have your toys back.
Maybe if you were to look at the beatings those fighters took in those losses....
But to do that you'd have to take your head out of the sand. ;)

He will get massive props from me if he does that.
1. He KOed the defending champ Chatchai Sasakul for Lineal title.
He KOed the defending Lehlohonolo Ledwaba for IBF with only 2 weeks preparation.
He KOed the defending champ Barrera for lineal title.
He won a decision against defending champ Marquez lineal title.
He KOed the defending paper champ (first test against naturally bigger men) Diaz for WBC title.
He KOed the defending champ Hatton for fourth lineal title.
He KOed the defending champ Cotto for WBO title.
It's funny how you make it sound like he's been given vacant belt before the Margarito fight.
2. They maybe catchweights but if you wipe Floyd's cum off your eyes, you will see clear that the weight differences are not that big deal.
3. I partially agree with you on that. He fought a weight-drained morales in their third bout. He fought a weight-drained DLH too. But 28 out of 30 boxing writers picked DLH to massacre Pac, but look what happened?
4. He's been taking steroid (blood) test. 20 days before the fight. That's a fact. Mayweather took 18 days before the fight against Mosely.
5. If Hatton was a B level fighter, then Clottey must be A level.
Stop hating asshole
;) tsk!

Re: PAC deserve those props IMO
I love it I didn't even mention Floyd and you use that as part of your arguement. I think Pac fans are more obsessed with Floyd than anyone else.
You nearly put up a valid arguement until you started hurling the insults, although I'm sure no moderator will say anything to you about that.....
Cotto was at a catchweight so why you use that in this I have no idea...
Marquez he was gifted a lot of people think pac lost both fights.
Hatton had been Ko'ed by floyd looked awful agaist Lazcano and all of a sudden the IBO title counts for something?
Margarito, no way matey. That was not a title fight as I've stated before Antonio was a disgraced fighter not a number one contender or a champ
You're in cloud cookoo land with clottey. He has achieved no where near (and never will achieve) what hatton did in his career.
If the catch weights aren't a big deal why do Roach and manny insist on them all the time?
Manny has never taken a USADA random drug test
Good effort but still got your head in the sand. Keep stewing the insults it tells me I have a valid point.

Oooh.... 'you gonna cry now? Lmfao!
1. I've expressed many times this site alone that I hate catchweights. Cotto weighed-in as 146 against Clottey. So I don't get why Pac-Cotto fight was catchweight either. Pac would have still dismantled Cotto even at 147.
2. Well, many people also think Pac won those fights.... INCLUDING THE OFFICIAL JUDGES. But it is what it is. It's already in the book. Wtf are you gonna do about it?
3. Hatton fought two guys in the ring that night... Mayweather and Cortez. Plus Pac's win against Hatton was way more impressive (the 6 minute storm). IBO is a piece of shit belt. But you must be out of your freaking mind if the ring belt doesn't count for somethin.
4. That fight shouldn't have happen in the first place. That fight went through cuz Floyd is a pussy and Arum is a scumbag. Manny beating UP a man that outweights him 17 pounds is very impressive. He deserve to be crowned.
5. All Clottey's losses were questionable. But he could not win a single round against Pac. Hatton and Clottey have about the same boxing accomplishment. The big difference between them though is one of them is overhyped and the other is not.
6. Then why Manny's opponent agree to fight him if it's a big deal?
7. Neither Floyd. Refusing a USADA radom test 18 days before the fight is not really a USADA random test.

Of course I'm not going to cry. I'm not the one that's got no arguement to the facts of my hero isn't what he's cracked to be. That, however, might be why you are crying like a baby.
Glad you agree with point one, you're starting to see sence, well done. If pac was so sure he'd dismantle cotto at 147 then he should have fought him at 147. simple.
Point two. The only thing i'm going to do is point out the fact that he was bloody lucky not to lose in both fights, and in heart of hearts pac fans know that. I find it very funny that you're trying to make some kind of point that the judges in a boxing match are infalable. If you want I can give you a list of fights where the judges got it very very wrong. As a boxing fan you should know that though.
Hatton did have the ref agaist him in the floyd fight. But Hatton fans including myself still feel floyd would have won that fight. Pac's win was more impressive? well it was at a different weight, hatton had been Ko'ed and had a different trainer that gave him the worst camp of his career. I personally think Koing an undefeated fighter is better then Koing a fighter that is a shadow of his former self.
Point six, MONEY YOU STUPID FOOL!
Point seven, that is pure fiction. Do you normally make things up when you're fighting a losing battle?
Keep trying.

1. Glad you agree with point one, you're starting to see sence, well done. If pac was so sure he'd dismantle cotto at 147 then he should have fought him at 147. simple.
4. Point six, MONEY YOU STUPID FOOL!
5. Point seven, that is pure fiction. Do you normally make things up when you're fighting a losing battle?
Keep trying.
1. fair enough
2. It's a matter of opinion whether you like it or not. I know that there were 3 judges sittin in 3 different angles. It means they saw the fight in 3 different versions while most people only saw the fight in 1 dimension.
3. Ofcourse Pac's win over Hatton was more impressive. Some calls KO of the decade.
4. Like I said Cotto going down to fight Pac at 145 is not really that big deal, considering Cotto weighed-in 146 against Clottey. That's what I meant when I said "it's no big deal". If you still don't understand that, then you must be a dumb.
5. I don't make shit up. Never did. Mayweather - Mosley had 18 day cut off? Pacquiao says he will do 14 days-liverpuncher.com
I didn't know you were also a sourgraping Hatton fan. :-X
