I'm kinda temped. I think I'm gonna go see it.
Soto-Antillon for me is the main attraction.
Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon

I think Antillon breaks him down slowly, and will win by stoppage.
Antillon TKO 9.
Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon
What happened to Gomez? I thought he was going to fight Chavez jr? I live way too far. Me and a buddy of mine are ordering the ppv.

Hard pressed to think of anyone breaking Soto down. Out boxing yeh but Antillon stays forward and planted for most part. Think Soto has more gears as long as he doesnt go punch for punch early. One would not mind seeing going either way....there WILL be fireworks.
Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon
First Gomez pulls out injured, they bring in Pawel Wolak. Then JCC jr gets sick but Wolak is staying on the card against a unknown. Kinda funny Wolak takes the fight on short notice then gets switched on, now hes got a short notice fight against some unknown with a waay higher risk/reward ratio =P

Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon
very nice fight. i think this fight goes the distance as neither of them a KO artists. however, i do believe urbano antillon has the weaker chin but on the flipside, i think humberto soto has regressed some since he's been champion (kinda like jermain taylor did). i think this fight's going to be a tossup but i'd like to see antillon take it only because this would be his very first world title and soto has won titles at super feather, lightweight and held an (interim title) which i believe don't count, at featherweight.
Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon
I'm taking Soto on points or late kayo. I feel he's had a hard time getting up for his last couple of fights. At this stage of his career he probably needs to feel a sense of danger before he can fully motivate himself for a fight. I expect Urbano to bring the best out of Soto...or at least I hope.
Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon
congrats Soto!!! thats a great fight!! good ppv overall imo!
Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon
think soto took it comfortably and he looked remarkably better than his last 3-4 fights. tonight he showed he could box very effectively but you've also have to remember that antillon had the style to make soto look good.
Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon
Mil,
Soto is already very good bro the only fight I saw him struggle was agaisnt a RUNNER in Joan Guzman. Urbano Antillon's Tenacity was impressive too. Marquez vs Soto will be imteresting!
Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon
I want to see Soto against Miguel Acosta of Columbia im more interested of these match up.

Agreed. Soto v. Rios will be a scrap.
Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon
a brandon rios/humberto soto would be a very entertaining fight for several reasons:
the humberto soto who boxed so effectively last night would easily out box rios in the early rounds because essentially, rios has the same come forward style like urbano antillon.
the difference between rios and antillon, however, is that rios hits much harder than antillon and really isn't susceptible to uppercuts the way antillon is. rios is also bigger and much stronger than antillon even though he's a little slower hand speed wise.
i see soto building up a solid early lead with great footwork, movement and a vast display of impressive skills but by the mid to late rounds, rios is going to definitely test soto's chin. whether or not soto can handle rios' bombs is unknown at this time. i do know that i believe rios is going to be able to handle soto's punches cause soto isn't going to want to make this a slugfest the way he did last night with antillon.
my prediction is that soto will eek out a very close decision. he'll build an early lead and hang on by a thread to rios' onslaught. soto by SD.
Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon
IMHO Marquez wrecks Soto, he looked good last night but he still didn't look like the same fighter he was in the lower weights, i think Rios would get outboxed early on but then would wear down Soto in around the 10th, but i think that there really isn't anyone who can take JMM's #1 spot at 135, including Rios
Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon
I think Soto - Rios is going to look a lot like Cotto - Margarito where the smaller fighter will outbox the bigger fighting, land some nice shots, but eventually be stopped. I don't think Soto can hurt Rios or keep him off of him, and I'm certain that Rios can hurt Soto.
Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon
i'm in agreement with morales on this one. marquez would beat humberto soto by decision and maybe even late stoppage. soto sometimes gets too wild and that would play into marquez' game plan.

I agree, Marquez would punish Soto. It wouldn't even be competitive.
Re: Humberto Soto vs Urbano Antillon
Rios had trouble making 135 in his last bout. He should fight Ortiz next. I heard they were good friends, shit got sour, and they became bad blood because of love squander/triangle or somethin like that.

Ortiz would shit-hammer Rios. IMO Rios an exciting but fairly limited fighter; Peterson would have beaten him if he wasn't an idiot.
