Just a thought but why not Vitali??
Now for once I am in Hayes corner with this current situation but why not fight Vitali? If Wlad wants to fight club fighters fair enough so lets get this made as a runner up prize, I no Vitali is due to fight Solis in march/april but why not either pay him off as Vitali has form for this or ask the WBC to let a unification fight take priority?
-
Re: Just a thought but why not Vitali??
I agree,While it might not be the fight he wanted at first,He should take this one because it will still draw the people in.
-
Re: Just a thought but why not Vitali??
Because although Vitali is not as sound as a boxer then Wlad, Vit is a beast. The chances of Vit getting knockdown vs Wlad getting KO'd favors Vit. Therefore, Haye wanted to fight the lesser of the two as far a the chin goes. But I wish someone please KNOCK THE :-X OUT OF HAYE. Please let his next fight have some sort of competition.
-
Re: Just a thought but why not Vitali??
I totally agree Skel. Its the best fight out there and to be honest I think Vitali is far better to watch than Wlad anyway. Also he is willing to take a shot and make a fight where as Wlad is boring and scared as he has proved in the last day or so.
-
Re: Just a thought but why not Vitali??
play it as you will, Wlad only signed to fight Chisora because Haye didn't want anything to do with either Klitschkos and chose to fight Audley, he had to pull out due to an injury and is making good to Chisora by rescheduling the fight and giving him a shot, IMO it doesn't matter who he fights either guy beats him, be it Wlad or Vitali, i wouldn't be shocked if Haye's next opponent ends up being a Klitschko left over or someone like Toney
as for Wlad being scared, you don't basically knock out everyone in your division and clean it out by being scared
-
Re: Just a thought but why not Vitali??
I thought exactly the same. Not just that, me and loads of us have been saying he should fight Vitali first anyway as he is probably the easier draw.

agreed with this hopefully common sense will prevail. Bung Solis a few quid to keep him sweet and tell him he gets to fight the winner.

haye said he isnt having anything more to do with anymore klits ;D

Re: Just a thought but why not Vitali??
He's somewhere trying to think up a good reason why Wlad would choose to fight Chisora over Haye, could be awhile.

The WBA title holder doesn't want to fight Vitali so the fight won't happen, he only wants to fight Wlad and he had an opportunity to July 2nd and he got his panties in a bunch because Wlad wanted to honor his word to Chisora and get that fight out of the way.
If we're to believe the rumors then Adamek vs either Wlad or Vitali could happen in September which would be cutting it awfully close to that October retirement we've heard so much about ;D

Re: Just a thought but why not Vitali??
Why is Haye even considering retiring.

I read an interview with him before the Mormeck fight saying he wanted out by the age of 30. He's a businessman first and a boxer second. Said he wanted out before he ended up losing his reflexes. Vowed he would never go on too long.
Can't help feeling the retirement thing has no become a ploy. A "now or never" offer to try and back Wlad into a corner.

He's more suited to the talk show circuit and perhaps reality tv, I'm sure that type of fame will be more to his taste than anything he could achieve in boxing.

Bollocks. The Briggs fight that fell through years ago was never honored so why is he now starting to do it? Because he wants no part of Haye.
I hope I'm wrong and now I've had time to calm down and think I hope Haye gets the fight with Chagaev signed for March and then agrees to fight Wlad in July, BUT even if he did I think Wlad would say the date needed changing as you need more than 8 weeks to train for and promote the biggest fight of your career. And that is one thing I would agree with in the modern boxing climate!

Re: Just a thought but why not Vitali??
Because he's scared of him. Vitali might be old but he's not crap and old.
-
Re: Just a thought but why not Vitali??
i am bored of the whole affair to be honest, even if wlad & haye fight each other i would still class vitali as the real champ anyway! i think he is miles better than either of them!
-
Re: Just a thought but why not Vitali??
chisora said on 'ringside' that why didnt haye just fight vitali
-
Re: Just a thought but why not Vitali??
thing is if chisora was to defeat wlad then that puts haye outta the heavyweight picture altogether as there is a rematch clause in the contract & i think there is a clause for chisora to fight vitali as well, haye could retire now;D

It could also create the biggest British fight in years which would be way bigger than honoring some shite contract and far more lucrative for Chisora too.

I'm not saying Chisora has a chance because he doesn't. Chsora vs Harrison would be competitive which tells you all you need to know about Chisora. But should he somehow pull off the upset and gain Wlads belts then a unification fight between him and Haye would be HUGE in the UK!!

To be fair mate Chisora would smash Audley Harrison I dont think it would be competitive at all.

I think any fight with Adamek right now is pretty big. Probably Eddie Chambers v. Tomaz Adamek?

Adamek is Polish. You can't just claim him because he lives in New Jersey. Canadians tried that crap with Lennox. Cheeky b*stards ;D

Gotta disagree on that one Skel. Not saying Fraudley would beat Chisora but I don't think he stops Audley and I do think it would be reasonably competitive. I don't rate Chisora much at all.

it would be a little bit competative without actually being very competative
