Fuck all !
You forgot about Chelsea smash?
Nah mate they're on the slide with an old broken squad...going backwards and i love it Fucking hate Chelsea with a passion.
Spent Force unless the invest massively and soon
Hope we get Suarez from Ajax - 110 goals in 154 games!
Him and another defender would do nicely!
We got the cash to spend as well.
I'm adament we'll do Milan too
Its only been 2 matches, the team is playing harder and the system seems to be a little more to the strength of the players we have but we still make some lazy passes and have mental mistakes and Kenny can fix that with time.
As much as I hate to admit it as a closet Liverpool fan they are utter toilet. If I was Gerrard, Torres or Reina I'd be off the first chance I got. None of them can afford to hang aroung for a few years whilst their mediocre peers are replaced with genuine quality.
Liverpool are shite and Daglish will do nothing but make it worse.
Meanest of time for the scousers. Still, I am behind them till they clinch would be only a fraction of the greatness they once had. You'll never walk alone.
I hope we hire Rikaard or Hiddink, we need to focus on scoring goals! Also if we get Rikaard we may land Arda Turan as well.
We need help on the back line, the midfield looks ok, and striker needs to be addressed.
Targets: Mertesacker, Turan, Honda, Llorente, Van Wolfswinkle, Mexes, and we need to look at some wingbacks too.
I say we sell off Johnson (we can get the most money for him and Kelly has proven he's solid enough to start), Agger or Kyrgiakos, and perhaps a midfielder preferably Jovanovic or Cole as they have been grossly misused and for that reason we probably can't get much for them, Babel or Ngog may be sellable now though.
Whatever they decide we need to look like this soon.
ST: Torres, #2 Striker
CAM: Gerrard
LM: Turan/Honda/Cole/Babel/Jova RM: Mierieles
CDM: Lucas
LB: New LB CB: Mertesacker, Carragher RB: Kelly
GK: Reina
You can't judge a manager on 2 games. Is he supposed to have infused the team with his football spirit or what. He needs time to work with and expand upon what is clearly not a very good team.
I like Dalglish and he deserves to given some time. We can still finish in the top 10 and on the way learn a few things. It's a rebuilding process and will be for the next couple of years. I want Dalglish to be part of that.
I think if we hadn't tried this long ball bullcrap we would have progressed better and sooner. The only true problem areas we have are 2nd striker and either LB or CB it could be solved by playing Kelly more at either position. If we had stability in midfield and at striker we'd be set for our attack. Our defense needs a tune up.
Yes, it is against Liverpoool ethics to be playing the long ball. Not to mention it is piss boring to watch. For too long we have had managers with no connection with the past, Dalglish is that connection and he was an alright manager to boot. He won't change things overnight, but already we have been seeing a few positives. He will at least have us playing interesting football while we adjust towards the future.
Hell if we just played
ST: Torres
CF: Cole/Babel
CAM: Gerrard
LM: Kuyt RM: Mierieles
CDM: Lucas:
LB: Kelly CB: Agger, Carragher RB: Johnson
GK: Reina
Or
ST: Torres, Kuyt/Babel/Jova/Ngog
CAM: Gerrard
LM: Babel/Cole RM: Mierieles
CDM: Lucas
LB: Kelly CB: Agger, Carragher RB: Johnson
GK: Reina
I think we'd be a lot better off. Kenny's going to do well before the season is over. We've just got to make good personnel moves
I agree with all of that. We've got decent individual players, but they just don't seem to know how to play together. Also the squad lacks depth, so it's hard getting them on the field at the same time. Plus people like Torres seem to be really off their game bar the odd moment like against Blackpool. Gerrard going missing makes an automatic dent in the team and we shouldn't be relying on people like him all the time as the season is long and tough on the legs.
To a degree i agree, but in all fairness ya cannot play Cole, Merieles, Kuyt, Lucas in midfield, we need width, and with them 4 the is none !! All of them like to operate through the middle or like to cut inside from the wing far too much which creates congestion in the middle of the park, and confusion. The likes of Torres * Gerrard have no-where to go because of the congestion created by said players coming inside.
Width is what we need, bring back the days of a Barnes on the wing, Mcmanaman raiding the flanks, or at least get a couple of fullbacks that would bomb forward and get past the midfielders to create the width and get the crosses in.
We do need some width which is why I'd like for us to get Turan, but Honda could really help us out as well.
Anyone heard who we might actually pick up?
We haven't had proper width since Mcmananman left :-\
Danny Murphy, Patrick Berger, Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt, Ryan Babel.... Just can't cut it out wide.
Nicky Barnby was maybe the exception but then he was never exceptional. Riise was a left back.
Good points Matty, Dalglish was the last one to have that kind of dynamism and for it to really work well, so maybe he will be able to create something like that again. It's not going to be easy though. Benitez had some success, but I really didn't like what he brought to the team as a manager at all and we have been lumbered with the decisions that he made really. I would love for the clock to be turned back somehow, but there is clearly a fair bit of rot in our style and in how the team members interact on the pitch. Let's just see how it pans out in the next month or so. I really don't think we are quite as bad as our table position is suggesting though.
Kenny is looking at bringing in 4 players:
Dalglish targets four January buys - Liverpool FC & http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/media...al-dutch-swoop
The name that stands out from the report is Luis Suarez, which is a name i've banging on about for some time now, this kid is quality, despite his naughty side i would have him in a flash !!!
Suarez would be great. Who are the other three?
Shit not Titus, the man's a rock at the back.
I read Liverpool are after Parker and/or Cattermole. Cattermole is a good player when he's not injured, recovering from injury or suspended. Which is most of the time really. They'll probably be linked with nearly everyone that might be available until someone actually signs
Emanuelson is a quality player also, can play left back, or left winger. I play with Ajax on Pro Evo on lads night, and his pace and dribbling ability is through the roof, very good player that i would welcome.
M'vila is a french international that played for them in the game against England at wembley recently. Again another solid midfielder that would work well with Stevie G in the centre !
Cattermole ?!?!? NOOOOO !! jesus that kid is the most over-rated player in the premier league after John Terry !! Being from Middlesbrough myself, the lad is a complete tit !! he got barred from every pub/club on teesside, he's an arrogant, self-indulgent twat ! would have to consider my allegiance to Liverpool if he signed !!
I would still like to have Mertesacker, or Mexes. Agger is ok, Kyrgiakos is ok, but we NEED a top CB!
We need a top wingback. We have Kelly, Aurelio, Johnson, and Konchesky. Aurelio and Johnson are better on attack, they can't defend for shite. We need better defenders, I wish we had a prime JAR at LB!
I'm not so sure we need any CM's defensive or attacking as we currently have Gerrard, Cole, Lucas, Poulsen, Mierieles (is really a CM, but is decent on the wing) etc. Honda, DeFour, or someone else would be ok only if they could play wide OR allow Gerrard to play CF.
We do need wingers, we've got: Maxi, Jovanovic, Babel, Kuyt, but nobody that keeps it wide. Turan, Dempsey, that Dutch kid Elia (sp?), or someone else that can keep wide and put in solid crosses. Johnson would be an ok solution only if we get another wingback.
We also need a 2nd striker: Ngog is so-so, Jovanovic really should be a striker, Babel should be a striker, Cole should be played at CF as well, but Torres needs someone to take the pressure off.
I read Agger could go for £3m, cheap if you ask me.
Daglish does not have a clue, idiot thinks the team just lacks confidence when they are just not good enough.
I would have take the City rejects like a shot Cruz, Wright and Addebayour on loan.
I don't think that's a fair or even accurate statement. This club isn't any different from the club last season, sure other clubs have gotten better and are playing more consistently but the facts are
#1: The long ball experiment was a failure.
#2: The ownership switch was long and drawn out and it kept us from making any quality signings over the summer.
#3: We're still a banged up team with very little depth and lots of square pegs that former ownership bought thinking their manager could make use of them in a proper system.
Dalglish has the guys playing hard and eventually we'll catch a few positive breaks and build some momentum. Dalglish isn't the manager of the future but he's already got the boys playing more inspired football and there's something to be said for that.
Juan Mata would be a great addition for LFC
Mata is an excellent player, but I think he's just signed a contract extension at Valencia. I think any move would have to wait until the summer and then it would cost a bomb to get him.
The Suarez to Liverpool rumours are still hanging around, apparently it would be a 15-£20 million move which would rely on the sale of Babel for around £8 million to help finance it. He's said he's ready to leave Ajax and he's got a brilliant goalscoring record in Holland but there's a few players that haven't been able to continue that in one of the top leagues. Could be a very good addition if it came off
