just saw fighting jose arias on fox sports!!!!!!
-
Re: is MAB fighting tomorrow night????
Yeah he is. He says 2011 is his final year wants to be the 1st Mexican to win titles in 4 seperate weight classes.
Hope it will be shown on a stream . Barreras a legend !
-
Re: is MAB fighting tomorrow night????
Yep, this guys he's fighting has a decent record, but has been in ultra soft, should take him to school.
-
Re: is MAB fighting tomorrow night????
The guy Barreras fighting is amazingly ugly looking but is quite chizzled and is a big guy draining down. Marcos a small guy bulking up.
Arias is coming off a string of early KO's over bums and will try the same thing with Barrera, when that doesnt work he will be out his depth.

Re: is MAB fighting tomorrow night????
I look in better shape than Barrera at 39.
-
Re: is MAB fighting tomorrow night????
I wish Barrera would retire. I saw his 1st fight in the US (his 22nd overall) when he had just turned 18 and he was really special. It isn't right to watch him stay around and lose to guys that he would've run out of the ring in his prime.

Re: is MAB fighting tomorrow night????
Barrera hasnt opened up like that in a while. 22 years after his debut at flyweight in 1989, knocking out a light welter in 2 rounds. Good stuff.

Re: is MAB fighting tomorrow night????
Thank you for the link.
That was a good performance by Marco against a game club fighter.

Re: is MAB fighting tomorrow night????
wow thanks for the link really enjoyed that agree with game havnt seen him do that in years;D

Re: is MAB fighting tomorrow night????
Barrera looked out of shape and the guy managed to land a couple decent body shots on him, anyone worth note at 140 would maul both him and Morales, neither guy has any business there, so lets just keep it straight, although it was entertaining Barrera's win against Alf means nothing

Re: is MAB fighting tomorrow night????
ElTerrible, cmon a second round tko? I dont see how a guy landing a couple body shots indicates Barrera is washed up. I guess he should have knocked him out with the first punch in your eyes. I hope your not thinking the Khan fight showed he is washed up. They should have stopped it in the third so it would have been a NC, but since it was in England they wanted it to go to TD. Come on now.

umm have you not seen any of his other comeback fights? Barrera has been getting tagged by nobodies and has looked like shit, Morales as well, whoever wants to kid themselves into believing either has a real chance in winning another world title, and at 140 nonetheless is just gonna be left with a rude awakening when one of the two if not both end up seriously hurt, which is exactly what i don't want, but if they continue this path it's what's going to happen, Barrera and Morales are no different than Holyfield at this point

Cotto facing a feather fisted fighter convinced you he's not shot though. Shit at least Barrera made the full 12 against Pac, and he's a smaller guy. So do you feel the same way about Cotto? He even had to backpedal most of the fight against Clottey.

Foreman, Clottey, and even Pacquiao are at higher caliber than anyone Barrera's fight since his comeback (and yes that includes Khan), the Pacquiao Cotto faced would have stopped Barrera AGAIN (or did you forget that Manny knocked him the fuck out as well, he lasted 12 rounds on his second try), Barrera is slow, his movement is predictable, and he's going to get owned once he goes back against a world level fighter, just like Morales is going to against Maidana, it's not like i'm attacking either guy, hell Morales is my favorite fighter but both are shot, and their time has passed, they're looking ordinary against mediocre opposition, at least Cotto is still fighting championship level opponents (aside from Mayorga) and had REAL problems like the shoulder injury, the lack of a real trainer, and the death of his father, what's Barrera's and Morales' excuse aside from well they're shot

Finished in terms of competing with the elites, maybe, but not against most of the division as Barrera just demonstrated. Or are your such a moron to the point that you believe your eyes deceived you. Unless you can somehow explain MAB's performance, excluding comparisons with his previous fights why he is done as a fighter? Otherwise I'll just assume your comments are purely wind-up.

ummm do you honestly he can compete at 140 or higher? actually why the hell am i asking you, aside from Pacquiao's biography what the fuck do you know about boxing? he looked slow, out of shape, and in no way will he OR MORALES beat any top fighter at 140

You can't do it! Your BS attempt at an argument intentionally misleads the point. Try sticking to your comments about Barrera or even Morales and backing up those statements with a analysis. I'll comment on your BS once you have something tangible.

i did answer you, but again you're borderline retarded, Barrera in a TKO2 victory looked sluggish, slow, and he was horridly out of shape, that alone lets you know what real chance he has against the likes of Bradley, Khan (again), Ortiz, Alexander, etc.
same goes for Morales, he barely squeaked by against a mediocre opponent last time out, but why am i wasting my time with you, all you're trying to do is act like you know what the hell you're talking about when 9 times out of 10 it's clear you don't

Its funny how its all the trainers fault when they lose but there was nothing wrong with the trainer when he was undefeated.....lol If he was injured before the Pac fight dont you think he should of postponed? His father dying, you gonna seriously use that as an excuse? Buster Douglas did alright after hearing his mom died, look what he did, went out and beat Tyson. So are you saying that Cotto is just mentally weak?

No, you did not. Fact is, you just repeated the same comment you started out with. 'Slow' is a relative term. Compared to Arias, the guy he just beat, MAB is much quicker. It doesn't explain anything in terms of MAB's technical boxing abilities. You offer nothing to explain why you think MAB cannot compete at a championship level based on this performance. Saying MAB can't beat one fighter or another also doesn't address the subject directly which you still can't do!
-
Re: is MAB fighting tomorrow night????
Yeah Barrera looked sluggish and slow, he took 20 seconds to drop the guy, should have been 10.... I cant believe he let him get to the second round, what a shot fighter. We also all know that abs are the key to boxing, too bad Arias abs didnt help him much. Shit Juan Diaz makes Barrera look like Mr Universe.

he went into the Pacquiao fight with his nutritionist as his head coach not his uncle, he was injuried in the Foreman fight, that's why he had surgery, Manny loses cause he didn't have his lucky socks and we don't consider him mentally weak now do we, and like i said (where you choose to ignore) since when has Cotto been fighting guys with 15-1 records or guys who never were on a world stage as Barrera and Morales are now doing, whoever can't clearly see that both are shells of their former selves are blind, anyways why am i arguing with you, you swore John fucking Duddy of all people was going to be Middleweight king :-X

he never fought at a championship level either ;), Chavez Jr of all people schooled his ass, if he would have grown a pair the both times he was offered a title shot (Pavlik and Martinez) i'm sure that both guys would have stopped him brutally, if Duddy would have gotten stopped or quit against the weak opposition he took on than he would have been a bigger bum than he ended up being ;D

Absolute proof you have no clue! and just are talking out of your Arse. MAB had command of the ring, with his timing and range down in that first 20 seconds. There was nothing wrong with Barrera's footwork. He absolutely schooled Arias who had a much longer reach. He reminded me of Roberto Duran, how he just stepped forward a little bit to throw Arias range off. Duran would do that and he'd hit fighters with his shoulder.

Shit Juan Diaz makes Barrera look like Mr Universe.
look at Barrera's foot movement, and seriously are you trying to make Arias out to be a world beater? hahaha
HAHAHAHA Barrera looked nothing like Duran, was pushed into the ropes by a guy who isn't even fit to tie Barrera's shoe's, again you say that he schooled Arias as if that's an accomplishment, he was able to school a guy who had no experience, his jab was completely off, it was more a case of his opponent making more mistakes and him being able to capitalize on it than Barrera being sharp and still a world level fighter, you're the one speaking out his ass if you honestly think Barrera is still the Marco of old

Re: is MAB fighting tomorrow night????
I happen to agree with a lot that Elterriblemorales said.
As a massive fan of MAB I felt that his movements lacked the fluidity of old and he looked a long way from his best. But the fact is his best was still a calibre above most fighters and his ring saavy and experience will see him past most.
However, I do not believe he will make it to world level at 140, which is a hot division.
But the main reason for my reply is to Elterriblemorales- the guys were trying to debate with you and you took it way out of context. You also disrespected a very game fighter. for shame man

i said it in the other thread, MAB and Morales are both future HOFers no doubt, both are greats, and i agree fully, but it makes me sick that people keep approving of both guys fighting as if they are still elite fighters when it's going to lead to either guy getting seriously hurt, and that's something i don't want to end up seeing
and it seems that fat Dan from ESPN agrees with me
"Fighting for the first time in eight months, and headlining a "Top Rank Live" card in a fight announced barely a week before it took place, Barrera blew past Arias for his second consecutive victory. Barrera is slower now and looks out of place as a junior welterweight, but he can beat guys like Arias, 43, a native of the Dominican Republic from Providence, R.I., all day long"
