I happen to agree with a lot that Elterriblemorales said.
As a massive fan of MAB I felt that his movements lacked the fluidity of old and he looked a long way from his best. But the fact is his best was still a calibre above most fighters and his ring saavy and experience will see him past most.
However, I do not believe he will make it to world level at 140, which is a hot division.

But the main reason for my reply is to Elterriblemorales- the guys were trying to debate with you and you took it way out of context. You also disrespected a very game fighter. for shame man

i said it in the other thread, MAB and Morales are both future HOFers no doubt, both are greats, and i agree fully, but it makes me sick that people keep approving of both guys fighting as if they are still elite fighters when it's going to lead to either guy getting seriously hurt, and that's something i don't want to end up seeing

and it seems that fat Dan from ESPN agrees with me

"Fighting for the first time in eight months, and headlining a "Top Rank Live" card in a fight announced barely a week before it took place, Barrera blew past Arias for his second consecutive victory. Barrera is slower now and looks out of place as a junior welterweight, but he can beat guys like Arias, 43, a native of the Dominican Republic from Providence, R.I., all day long"

It was a short notice tune up fight and Barrera did what you are supposed to do. He came out and stopped his man. He also looked very good in doing so. I find it outrageous that anyone can look at someone like Barrera and compare him to someone like Holyfield which I have read on forums. The man is so ring smart and can still bring an element of class to his performances.

Barrera could very well win another title this year. The same could never be said of Holyfield who is a disgrace.

I am delighted to see him back and even more impressed to see him going for the kill. Okay, it wasn't against a top opponent, but we haven't seen Barrera opening up like that in a long time.

    Barrera!!!!!

how can you say that about Barrera yet then blast Holyfield? he's still beating the same level of fighter that Barrera is beating, and then losing only in World Title fights (aside from the Valuev fight), which IMO is going to be the same thing that happens to Barrera when he steps it up at 140, i see no way in hell he's going to beat Khan, Bradley, Maidana, Ortiz, Alexander, etc.
most people doubt Marquez' chances at 140 and he looks like he's in his prime compared to both Morales and Barrera, most of you guys are just blinded by what he used to be and hoping for one last miraculous win

I agree mostly with Elterrible. Sorry guys but if you think beating a fighter like Arias means that Barrera will be able to turn back the clock and beat a top fighter at 140 then I think you're clutching at straws. The argument will never be answered until he steps up his opposition, but I see him much like Nate Campbell in this instance. Great fighter at a lower weight, but little chance when he steps up against younger, faster and much better opposition. People will use the Khan excuse all day, but much like Bradley-Campbell, my belief is that the cut saved him, and gave him an excuse for why he didn't perform. Does anyone here truly believe that if he wasn't cut against Khan he'd have won that fight?

MAB was a badass in his day, but those days are long gone. It's time to accept he is no elite fighter anymore. I'm talking top 10 p4p or even a top 3 fighter at whatever division he's fighting now.

It's time to hang them up.

A fat Barrera whacks about the 43-year-old star of the film Wrong Turn, who makes Kid Thunder look like Roy Jones, and he is now ready to win a 4th "world" title. Some of you funkers need serious help. Fact.
