Well nobody is unhittable (that's not even a word) and yes Mosley has a good chance as the bigger guy however we need to look at his most recent victories and losses to examine what kind of a chance he has as a puncher boxer. Back in 2007 Mosley had a UD loss to Cotto at 146 1/4. Then a KO win in round 12 to Mayorga at 153 1/2 in 2008. Then a TKO over Margocheato at 145 3/4 in 2009. Then a loss to pretty Boy at 147 by wide UD in 2010 and a close SD Draw to Sergio Mora in 2010 before this fight. Not the best build up to a fight against the best plb for plb fighter in the world.
Re: Thoughts on Pac V Mosley
your standard nights work
pacquiao tee`s off around 3/4 with some big shots, mosley retreats into survival mode and takes a loss on a decision
stunned if it goes down any different
Re: Thoughts on Pac V Mosley
Pac/Mosley is a catchweight? I had no idea this was so.
The guy just comes off of a faux JMW fight and then has the audacity to make his next fight at a 145 CW? Why not just fight Mosley at a JMW CW if the proper WW limit is something he has issues with. Didn't Mosley himself just fight at JMW proper?
If this is true then I am pissed off. Mosley was massive underdog to begin with and then CW's? For christs sake.
Re: Thoughts on Pac V Mosley
Mosely aged 20 years in the 12 rounds agains floyd and has put in one decent performance in the last 7 years.
Pac should win this easily.
Mosely has a very small punchers chance.

same here, very odd
i suppose pac is merely going on the mosley/margarito fight and deciding that sugar is the heavier puncher
this could even go the same way as the de la hoya fight and dare i say mosley may even get STOPPED

That's not true.
Mosley has had a few decent performances in that time. Vargas and Collazo were good wins too, but obviously they are not on the level that Manny is currently at.
I reluctanctly agree with your final sentence though. I wish it was much more than that and I am certainly hoping it to be much more than that.

pacquiao could suddenly look an old man and shanes longevity in fights could aid him late on if manny is blowing hard
other than that i dont see a chance
Re: Thoughts on Pac V Mosley
I think the OP might be wrong. I don't think I've read that this fight was a catchweight fight. If it was there would be countless threads on here and Pac would have been vilified for it.

On BOXREC it is listed as the WBO welterweight title.
Re: Thoughts on Pac V Mosley
it`ll be for the welterweight championship of the world, im sure they`ll iron that out come fight night
only concern really now is the claims mosley is having to take the test but pacquiao isnt, very damning on mannys part IF true

I'am starting to dislike the way the pac team work if this is true.
When did it get made a catch fight its the first i have heard of it been at 145lb.
Re: Thoughts on Pac V Mosley
There is no need for it to be at 145lb, Pac should beat him and become the first man to stop him if possible.
Re: Thoughts on Pac V Mosley
Mosley got good power. But he's not knocking no one out with one punch. Margarito got beat down before he went down late in the fight. Same as Vargas. And if anyone, including Pacman believes that, that's Shane's only chance in winner, I'm going to make a lot of money on the 7th. Naz got a gameplan. And if Shane can pull the trigger, he's going to win.
1. Shane will use his faints, thne try to jab first.
2. Shane will go after the body like Shane of old, when Manny go against the ropes.
3. Since Pacman don't tie up, Shane will(have to) hit Manny, when Manny step back after a clinch.
Shane by upset

I do not think Shane will match the speed of Pac Man and punch out put. Shane will be bewildered.

Of course it's for whatever strap there is. But I don't think this is a catchweight fight at 145. I haven't read that or heard about it being a catchweight. If it was the boxing forums all over the internet would have exploded.
Re: Thoughts on Pac V Mosley
Are these test rumours true though? I have only heard this from Roger Mayweather and he isn't the most reliable of people. I really hope that they are indeed just rumours and not fact.
Re: Thoughts on Pac V Mosley
Leave it to the hype machine to create the illusion that this fight will be competitive...it won't. People keep saying Shane has a "punchers chance"...but Shane has not possessed one punch power since his lightweight days. Even against Margo...he wore him down throughout the fight. Sure he stunned Floyd...but it was no knockout or or even knockdown. Floyd recovered from it. Also, Shane loads up on his right after using his jab primarily as a feint. The problem is...his right is a looping right. It's not a straight right. A straight right is much more effective against Pac than looping punches (against a looping right...Pac will just dodge it and throw his hooks). But the biggest problem for Shane is that because of his age he no longer has great stamina. He gasses out after the first few rounds in his last few fights. Against a relentless fighter like Pac...he will wear down and gas out by the middle rounds. To beat Pac you have to have to be a great counter puncher with great stamina. Sure, Shane might catch and stun Pac in an exchange early on...but i highly doubt it. If Naz has trainied Shane to counter and go to the body...it might interesting. But i highly doubt that's the game plan. Another past prime fighter for Pac to look good against.
