I drive a car and it is gold. I am so ignorant about these things that I don't even know what it is. It is a medium sized car though and I just turn on the engine and drive it. I've never thought to check what it is. My wife bought and controlled it and I just took over the drivers seat. It's now mine, but I've no idea what it is. Plus it's raining so I don't want to check.
I drive a 4-speed Jeepney and a Kuliglig.
What are they?
...You don't wanna know. ;)
I drive an Audi A4, but I wish I drove your car Mars! What a beast that is!
I'm sporting the 2001 Hyundai Accent, I've had it since 2000 when I bought it with 8 miles on it.

It fulfills my three requirements
1. Great gas mileage
2. AC works
3. Hasn't exploded yet.
I've been eyeballing some new rides, but I just can't beat the no monthly bill thing.
A 2008 BMW X5 for me and a 2003 Ford F-150 for the mastiffs.
Got my own car for the 1st time in years - had company car for years. Bought a new one in Jan. Mondeo Titianium 2.0 TDI 163 - easily as good as my Audi A4 and nearly as good as my BM2 320. - love it - Mondeo's have come a long way!
I have a Mondeo too. But it's a shit old T reg grey one that I just leave outside to face the elements and unruly youth's.
Ive had it over 3 years and still can't remember the registration number.
It's been washed about 3 times.

I used to drive one of these before I deployed. I sold and will buy one of these when I get back.

Thanks James, I've had a lot of nice cars and trucks over the years, but this 2010 Dodge R/T is easily my favorite. The R/T gets there in a hurry when you want it to. :)
Here's a pic of a 2011 R/T, besides being red, the only other exterior difference between it and mine are the 22" wheels. (my 2010 is black, and has 20" wheels) I've only got about 9,000 miles on it, when I get somewhere around 35,000, i'll get new 22" tires. (it's got dual exhausts on the rear)

I currently drive a Nissan Xterra, but time for a change. I bought it new 8 years ago, and I still love it, especially since it's great in the snow. This isn't mine, but this is exactly what mine looks like.

But once I move, I'm gonna get the new GMC Terrain. I took one for spin a couple months ago, and I loved it. I'm going for a whole life change, and that means a change of vehicle too. ;D

I got this van in this exact color with no windows just like this photo/. diesel turbo auto.its a dream work van.
iLoad Introduction - Hyundai Motor Company Australia
You boys have some serious machines there!
My other car is a Ford Fairlane long wheel based thing, full leather, teak dash inlays, auto again, Tickford 6 cyl , its on liquid gas (which you guys havent got) so its cheap to run, a real family long distance cruiser, with a custom aluminum fitted bull bar into the spoilerand roof racks.
92 ford Taurus , dont be jealous. I wanna get one of those Titan pickups too, but its too expensive right now, or maybe one of those mini coopers, because of the easy parking, and good gas mileage. Those big pickups must be raping you guys wallets on the gas.
I'm well into my cars, probably owned 30+ over the years. I was always into Jap sports cars, my favourite being my Toyota Supra Twin Turbo.
Me and the missus are about to move into our first house soon so we recently sold our cars (mine a Nissan 350Z) and pooled our money together to buy a car to share. It's a diesel sadly but my missus does a lot of miles so 60mpg was appealing. Damn you know you're getting old when MPG takes preference over performance!
Anyways we bought a BMW 3 series coupe M Sport in white. Same as below.

I'm a builder by trade and for work I have a Nissan Cabstar Tipper and a Mitsubishi L200 Animal. Not as beefy as the V8 pickups you can get Stateside but we don't have the silly $4 a gallon gas prices you get. My Animal is like the one below, again it's a diesel.

I'd love a V8 pickup like the Dodge Ram but sadly they're quite rare over here therefore very expensive at £30k ($45k). If and when the construction industry picks up over here and I can afford it, I'm seriously gonna look into importing one over. I've gotta have an American V8 at some point. Be it the Corvette Z06, Ram pickup or a Mustang! My dream car is the BMW M3 which has a V8, but being German I'm pretty sure it'll be all refined and sound nowhere near as good as a US V8.
Audi R8
ford S Max 7 seater when it has to be.
1969 Corvette Stingray.
A green seven seater ...... Its a nissan zafira it enables me to take the kids out and I love it
I am riding subways, trains and bus as I don't need vehicules for the moment and the day I'll do, I might lean for a Volkswagen or a Toyota, the first one for the quality and the "relatively correct price" and Toyota because quality/price wise, it's quite hard to beat.
I get somewhere around 20 MPG on the Hwy on my truck's 390 HP Hemi engine. I use my truck for business more than anything, so my company pays for most of my gas, and my travel expenses are pretty much a tax write off.
Funny thing, I also own a 2009 Jeep Wrangler with a 3.8 liter 6 cyl, that gets about the same MPG as my truck's Hemi. So the gas milage on the truck isn't really all that bad.
My Jeep looks just like this one:

Those 350 Z's are also a great value in a sports car, with tons of power in the HP 6 cyl. engine, and the 370Z is just bad ass. I'd love to own one of those but it isn't a practical for me to use as a business vehicle, and it would probably just set in my garage most of the time.
I got a great deal here in Texas on my regular cab 2010 Dodge R/T pickup, the sticker price was something like $33,000 American, but I got around $9,000 in rebates and dealer discounts, $15,000 for my trade in, and a break on sales tax.
I always look for great deals on vehicles before I buy them, i'm not the dummy I used to be when I first started buying cars/trucks 40 + years ago.
cheers
Mars,
What's that tax that you have to pay in the States when you register the vehicle on the road. It's like 5% or something?
I did a little research a few years back wen thinking about (or day dreaming about) getting a Shelby Mustang and apparently if I buy a car from a dealer to export to the UK, I don't have to pay this tax.
The sad thing is I would have to pay for the shipping (£2k), then I'd have to pay 10% import tax in the UK and then 20% VAT (sales tax) on top of all that. It's a lot of tax but it still works out cheaper than buying from a US car importer.
When you buy a vehicle from an auto dealership here in the States, I believe the sales tax is something like 7%, but if you trade something in, when figuring sales tax, the price of the trade in is deducted from actual price you pay for the new vehicle. For example: if your trade in is worth $15,000 and the new vehicle costs you $25,000, you only pay sales tax on the difference = $10,000 or say $700. That's one of the advantages of trading in a vehicle on a new one, the tax savings, but you're really better off just retailing it yourself, because dealerships don't usually give you what your vehilcle is worth.
Too bad that the taxes are so fucking high over there on buying imports.
That's it, the 7% sale tax you can avoid if exporting the vehicle. Obviously the exchange rate makes a huge difference too, if you time that right it can offset the import costs
I went to Palm Springs in 2007 for the Coachella festival just after Calzaghe fought Hopkins. I saw a Shelby Mustang 500 at a dealership that was a couple years old and just $28k. At the time we were getting $2 to the £1 so £14k plus import costs for a fairly new Shelby 500 was something of a steal.
I only wish I could have afforded it then, the same value car would cost an extra £4.5k with the current exchange rates.
We drive about 2 hours into work each day (well each day we choose to go) and back so its a dream and they are hot miles so its great for a diesel. I was stoked they were about 39k when they first came out with auto and D turbo about 28k for petrol manual. I couldnt really warrant that and am well over changing gears.I want something that wakes me when we are there;D.
I went on the internet and mine was there for 28 with only 6 thousand kilometers on the clock. was a new for old insurance job as it had the rear quarter panel and rear door smacked in. So I saw the photos, they fixed it, got the engineers certificate and I took over with 5 year warranty and 8 months rego still in order and got it for 26 cash. Hyundai are great too, they just replaced the computer and the cd for free.It goes like shit out of a shanghai too. Going to set up for our double mattress in the back and take her on a months run soon I hope. :)

Bet I know what you all thought.....
I have no idea how this started but I have 4 cars now and a Vespa...
I swear I've never been a car guy. I mean I like 'em but it wasn't in my plans to have these many cars or a Vespa. I think I've sub-conciously become a car collecter?
The only brand new cars I bought were the Jeep & the Camaro. The Vespa was new also.
99 Camaro SS
02 Mercedes C230 Sport Coupe
05 Ford Mustang
07 Jeep Grand Cheeroke (HEMI-Limited)
10 Vespa GTS 300
