Pointless... We all saw that Haye just wasn't strong enough to stand with a guy with Wlad's physical presence.
What's the point? No thank you. We've seen how it plays out.
I'll gladly pay to make sure that never happens.
Haye has proved that he can't fight or box.
No thanks! This should be nipped in the bud to prevent the crowd from taking further punishment. It was aterrible fight to watch first time round and I dont think Haye showed any respect to either brother that would convince them to give him a payday.
Booth has been given alot of credit for his gameplan for Groves vs DeGale but he needs to speak up here and explain why he got it so badly wrong this time and why there was no plan B. Haye just tried the same thing round after round. So much for his adapatability. A rematch would be equally as boring. Perhaps moreso because it is expected.
To be honest as soon as the fight finished I thought a rematch could happen.
Once Wlad sees all his UK PPV coming in he'll realise fighting Haye makes him big $$$. If the fight happened in the UK I feel it could happen. Easy money for Wlad and if Haye really did have a toe injury Haye might want another crack at Wlad in an attempt to recover some pride.
Rematch could happen.
Haye hit him with a few good uns, it was closer and more competetive than anyone is giving credit for.
There is no other fight for wlad out there that will earn him that money.
If I was wald I'd say to myself, 'I can beat this guy soundly why not earn another 35 mil.'
I think there is a good chance it'll happen.
I'd rather watch the grass grow to be honest.
Haye was totally outboxed and lost a very one sided fight. If it had been close I could understand people talking about a rematch, but Haye doesn't even come close to deserving one.
The only way he should ever share a ring with a champion again is by getting some more fights under his belt and working his way back to mandatory challenger status.
Personally, I would like to see him retire. His behaviour leading up to and during this fight was nothing short of embarrassing.
Haye is a fraud and hasn't achieved anything ever
rofl... Big talk
Ha - The way boxing is now it could happen. I just wonder if the British fans will travel to support Haye again. I would hope not. It was a boring fight but that was due to Haye. He should have engaged Wlad more. Wlad is just too big and effective with the jab.
I'll pass. Screw what Haye deserves....the fans and Wlad deserve better.
Funny that the "Savior of the heavyweight division" has caught so much flack....and it makes me smile knowing that I have been 100% correct about the guy from the get go (well over 2 years mind you). The only thing I can give Haye props for is seeing the final bell which is an acheivement even if he "fought" in such a negative way just because Wlad is a big puncher and I was surprised that Haye took the punches pretty well...actually both guys did for the most part.
Right now Wladimir needs to get another fight lined up with a good up and coming prospect or perhaps even a veteran who's earned another crack at the title. My personal choices are (in no particular order): Povetkin, Arreola, Dimitrenko, Helenius, Chisora(should he beat Fury), Chagaev, Tua (should he beat Barrett), or Mike Perez.
A very very VERY small part of me says "Just fight Holyfield" but I fear for Evander's safety, I have for quite some time. But Evander is all heart and would give Wlad as much of a fight as anyone else, it's sad but true.
No rematch with Wlad, but perhaps Haye can bullshit his way into a fight with Vitali, Hint: Just use the broken toe excuse, David. ;)
I'm willing to wager now that re match will happen and will be announced before the month is out.
there's no one else for wlad to fight or make money with.
And you know what? All you will still pay for/watch it.
I would rather watch Wlad fight some guy that I know he will beat and knock out but would at least stand there and try and fight than watch Haye run the whole fight. I would rather see Wlad fight Arreola or Tony Thompson than Haye. At least with these fighters and Adamek you know they are not going to run the whole time. I wouldnt have bought the fight. I only watched because it was on HBO. I rarely buy a PPV because they are usually garbage. I garuntee there wont be a rematch. who would want to watch it? Haye is getting blasted here in the US. One headline "Haye is the biggest heavyweight fraud ever!". haha
Haye's already back peddling on his retirement and says he wants a rematch vs Wlad. Does Haye have no shame?? Haye promised the moon and gave a pathetic effort, just pathetic.
There's no real grounds for a rematch. Haye was thoroughly outclassed, so I can't see too many people buying into an immediate rematch. How would they promote it? He won 2 rounds if that, and the toe excuse isn't really washing with anyone. I don't think anyone would be sucked into believing it would play out any differently.
If he wants to fight on beyond this October retirement date, then he needs to knock off a few contenders and work his way into contention. I think there's some interesting fights for Haye at HW aside from the brothers. Whether he sticks around long enough to take on any of them remains to be seen.
I wouldn't mind seeing Haye against a few top contenders as well.
(admit it would have been a good idea before as well)
But realistically in a rematch with Wladimir?
Wlad generally tends to perform even better in rematches, so I doubt that would go well for Haye.
Fuck u haye!!
U have never looked good, Roy jones wanna be!!!
I never liked u, now ur fans should flock the froch!!
Froch would ko wlad in 3 and without luck.
only for the money....haye doesnt deserve even to get a fight with Holyfield.
Haye should grow a pair and fight Danny green.
Right, at this point, I'm not even sure Haye can hang with, Povetkin, Arreola, Dimitrenko, Helenius, or Chisora, he needs to defeat some of these pugs, and work his way into contention. Enough of Haye getting title fights with his mouth, work for it like everyone else has to.
Chances are, Haye isn't going to going to hit the "comeback" circuit, and fight other contenders, he's too much of a fucking premadonna for that. He might however be able to sell what's left of his gullible fanboy base on a fight with Vitali, I sure hope so. :)
i agree with that. I always thought the last mobile vitali would be easier for haye to hit. Vitali also holds his gloves lower.
The only reason I can see for a rematch is that Wlad looked genuinely angry with himself because he didn't knock Haye out. That and a payday might be motivation enough. I'll not be watching it though. If Haye fights him 10 times he still loses.
I bet you will watch it if it happens.
The biggest problem Haye had with Wlad was reaching him to hit him. Vitali is even bigger than Wlad, and more accurate with his punches, it would be a fucking massacre, Vitali would finish the job his brother started, and the "HAREmaker" would barely land a glove on him.
Really? Despite the extra height, I personally found Vitali a bit easier to hit than Wlad is. That is, Wlad in his recent. (I think his defense got a little better). In the all too short fight between Vitali and Solis, Vitali looked hitable. Of course I would not expect anyone to KO Vitali.
