Carnage on a Norweigan Island
I can't believe nobody seems to be talking about this.
Some crazed gunman dressed as a policeman went on a killing rampage on a tiny island during and so far has killed 91 people!!! :o
Over ninety fucking people, I can't believe that, that's more than John Rambo killed.
It's like a session on Modern Warfare I just don't see how that was possible.
Must have been terrifying for those on the island, another example of Islamic lunacy.

Re: Carnage on a Norweigan Island
Thought it said he was a neo nazi?
-
Re: Carnage on a Norweigan Island
Actually just read that according to his facebook he is a Christian fundamentalist
I think he's got a bit confused..:-\

Re: Carnage on a Norweigan Island
BusinessDay - Norway killer a fundamentalist Christian
Yep, the Norwegian killer was a fundamentalist Christian, that's what they are reporting now. A blonde and blue eye one too. So no, the mass murderer isn't one that looked like Amir Khan.

Re: Carnage on a Norweigan Island
Damn religious nutters, why can't everyone just be a peaceful atheist like me?
Awful really, I hope they shoot him in various parts of his body before finally putting him out of his misery with a bullet to the brain.
Honestly, the extremist elements of all religions are quite nutty. All religious people should be screened before being allowed to join society.....especially that Bilbo chap.
-
Re: Carnage on a Norweigan Island
And yes I see the obvious contradiction in my post, obviously I am not serious about wanting to shoot him and kill him. A good tickling with a feather duster for a good 30 years will suffice.

Re: Carnage on a Norweigan Island
The Norwegian terrorist is said to have "anti-Muslim views".
He wanted to take the Allah out of Valhalla.

Re: Carnage on a Norweigan Island
Anders Behring Breivik. Just looked at his FB page.
I dont get face book completely but to me if he uploaded those two pics in his album then he had an accomplice because he has uploaded a photo of the killing from above which I dont get who could do that on his page and if its him in the shot with the victims in the water who took the photo?

Re: Carnage on a Norweigan Island
some of the pictures coming out of this are incredibly chilling. this one is apparantly of the gunman in action...

Re: Carnage on a Norweigan Island
91 people so far in 2 distinct "operations: 4 died in the bombing of the ministry, the others were students forming the youth of a political party meeting on an island. Apparently he took care to shoot the wounded and those who jumped in the water to escape first  The guy apparently has close right wing views and was the director of a bio-farm in the north, which could help to explain where he got the dangerous fertiliser that helped to construct the bombs. For the moment, everything is under investigation (including the complice part or the why he did that).

Re: Carnage on a Norweigan Island
He's totally raised the bar when it comes to gun based shooting sprees. Normally it's a big deal if they get into double figures, this guy almost hit a century!
Sick and twisted fuck for sure, ( the Assange like appearance should have been a tip off), but he must have smashed the world record for multiple homicides.
Miles, you'll have to choose a different end when the madness finally takes you because this guy will make any other efforts look pathetic.
It's times like this I'm glad I don't often leave the house, and generally shy away from crowds.
Norway really isn't somewhere you'd expect this to happen, peaceful folk, such a senseless massacre.

Re: Carnage on a Norweigan Island
Let me see now, 700 kids of the politically prominent and NOBODY has a gun to protect them? This loon spent TWO HOURS hunting down and killing these kids.
ONE good man with a gun saves what? 75 lives?

A gun was the problem here and specialist police should have moved in way quicker from the sounds of things.

Ive stood on both sides of this issue before and have had this fight in my head and I changed sides. Until we got some 28 women and little kids in a park like setting cut down over here. I wished I was there with my bear Alaskan bow cause id have got him or at least slowed him. Im with the gun lobby on this one after coming to that conclusion. Guns dont have consciousness. You cant change a world where war is taught to the young as an answer with the implements being mass produced to maintain it.
Security is the double headed beast here. We needed tests to put gun owners under for a weekend to see if they crack under strain. Pass the grueling tests and you get your gun license
Its too late though, emotional idiots that want to share their pain have guns that can cut down masses.
So its back to Security and the fact that one armed good man could of stopped him.

Sick bastard, or bastards whatever the case may turn out to be. Just goes to show crazy fundamentalists come in all creeds, religions and colors. Wish they had gunned their asses down during the attacks because as far as I know norway doesn't have the death penalty and they'll just get to live out their lives in prison and perhaps even become heroes, rallying points for their retarded causes. As for gun control, the crazy guy who wants to do this shit will always find a way to do it and get his hands on one, the law abiding citizen will only have one if its legal.

Sad event
Guns are "evil" in Europe marblehead, evil.

I'm not a liberal nor a conservative and despise the expression of both in their respective extreme forms. To make it sound like liberals want to control you and conservatives don't is a bunch of bull. They both want to control but in different ways, let's not make it seem like conservatives are the protectors of liberty.

When will people learn that gun control is simply a fiction that leaves the law abiding vunlerable?

I don't know one would think they would learn from Chicago or Washington D.C. but nooooooo the liberals "care" about the people and therefore have to think for them.

Re: Carnage on a Norweigan Island
Any opportunity to try and force your political agenda onto others, huh? that is sad. the guy was a nutcase, nothing more or less. Just happened to be wearing a conservative christian fundamentalist outer shell this time around.
Crazy people gonna be crazy, is as simple as. 92 dead, 97 wounded by last tally.

Yeah it would have been far better if a couple of hundred teenagers on a mile wide island were all packing shooters.
No way that's a recipe for utter carnage.

A gun is a tool designed to kill. If everybody was reasonable in a society, it would't be a problem. However, most humans are not.... another part who's reasonable becomes idiot under the influence of drugs and alcohol and another reasonable part are potentially weak willed and can snaps at any moment. In that kind of circumstances, you have to think mass psychology and in a logic of mass psychology, letting people get military type of guns so easy is like dropping a whole bag of candy on a table in front of a class, telling them to only eat/take one and turn them your back. Doesn't work.

See that point of view applies to cars, boxcutters, baseball bats, knives, tire-irons and everything else that can POSSIBLY be used as a weapon.

Re: Carnage on a Norweigan Island
Maybe a new kind of armed security with civil proven mature aged men in it?

There are mass killings every year for people that own guns.

Oh the general question of violence in society?
I'm not sure there IS a good answer. Like many bad things I suspect it is an inherent cost of freedom.
My own view is that a bad guy with a baseball bat or a knife or a tire iron is a significant threat to the innocent. A reasonable man carrying a gun is not.
My own view is any man who permits himself, or his family, to be secure only at the whim of bad guys, the government or who leaves his security subject to the competence of the police is a fool.
Put another way. Al Queda having access to nuclear weapons troubles me from time to time. The Brits having them bothers me not at all.
